The restaurant is traditional. Attentive and courteous service. Tortelli average for the area. A note on the rabbit. Excellent cooking, but poor. Ordered three portions, and received five. Another point about the cover charge: for a trattoria, €3.50 per person seems excessive. But I'm also against cover charges in general.

A trattoria offering a traditional Reggio Emilia menu. We ordered tortelli with walnut filling and cappelletti with porcini mushrooms. Both were very good, exceeding our expectations. It's rare to find cappelletti other than the classic ones, and when you do find them, it's always a lottery win. These guys, however, are truly excellent. The service is a bit sluggish, and there's room for improvement, but overall it's adequate. The price is average; I recommend trying it.

The food is very good... Gnocchetto served as an appetizer. Excellent tortelli and cappellacci. Excellent pork cheek. Mascarpone with chocolate cake is superb. Short wait times; attentive staff; good portions. The bill is a bit expensive...

Returned after a few months, I didn't eat very well... the mushroom cappelletti were excellent, less so the green tortelli and the grilled ham, the guinea fowl was good quality

Aside from the timeless atmosphere, whether you sit inside or outside, you'll immediately find yourself immersed in a welcoming atmosphere. Every dish is a hit, from gramigna to tagliatelle, from tortelli to gnocchi with cured meats, rabbit, or guinea fowl...the menu is extensive. And the Lambrusco wines the owner offers are truly remarkable. The staff is quick, attentive, and knowledgeable. The prices are truly fair.

12/02/2026: Stopped by with a friend on a Saturday for lunch. The owner was incredibly helpful in finding us a table even though we hadn't booked. The place immediately evokes the feel of a 1970s club. Despite everything, the tables are set with impeccable professionalism. The cuisine is the same as it used to be, as we used to eat at our grandparents' house on holidays. The dishes are tasty but well-proportioned, neither minute nor overdone. A must-try is the cart of fantastic boiled meats; watching them arrive reveals the quality of the ingredients, accompanied by succulent sauces and pickled vegetables, also reminiscent of past flavors. The Lambrusco is one of those dark ones that stain the glass. The price is standard for Reggio Emilia, but it's not cheap. The service is attentive and meticulous.

18/05/2026: This restaurant was recommended to us while we were passing through Castelnovo ne Monti. The atmosphere was quiet (until two guys at one table listened to their nephew's entire piano recital on their phones at high volume 🤭). We ordered three side dishes, a main course, and a bottle of water, and we paid a lot for what we ate. It's a shame we found out too late that one of the side dishes was double-billed and that the cover charge was exorbitant! I was disappointed with this experience, because overall, what I ate was good.
17/05/2026: I had lunch here and had a truly positive experience. The restaurant is well-kept, with a rustic and welcoming atmosphere and professional yet friendly service. The quality of the dishes is immediately apparent: fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavors. The menu is also very interesting, showcasing traditional dishes. The wine list is excellent, well-stocked and consistent with the cuisine. A restaurant that stands out in the Castelnovo ne' Monti area and I recommend it both for a break from the hustle and bustle and for more special occasions. It's definitely a place I'd return to.
