Antica Trattoria Monlue In Milano

A pleasant discovery in a Milan that always seeks to surprise with special effects, forgetting that tradition, simplicity, and elegance are the best ingredients for a memorable experience. Antica Trattoria Monlué perfectly reflects all these characteristics. Lombard tradition with a Sicilian touch makes the cuisine unique, the service simple, polite, and never "stuffed," and the owner's kindness and elegance make Antica Trattoria Monlué a unique place, worth remembering. Oh, and I forgot... There are still those who offer (free) amari at the end of the meal!! If you want to spend a beautiful, calm, and relaxing evening, this is the ideal place. I'm curious to return for lunch and enjoy the beauty of the location.

A real surprise on the outskirts of town, this trattoria with a garden in a seemingly rural setting. Excellent, meticulously prepared cuisine features regional and other specialties. The atmosphere is quaint and welcoming, reflecting tradition. Reasonable prices reflect the overall quality of the offerings.

We've dined here a few times, in large groups of 40-50 people. Excellent food, attentive and helpful staff, and a tastefully elegant atmosphere. High prices.

A very beautiful restaurant in the countryside, just outside Milan. Very friendly and courteous service. The menu is also excellent, very varied, with a distinctly Milanese feel. The final bill, with a bottle of wine, was around €80 per person.

A trattoria that's definitely out of the way, near a park, which adds to its charm. Perhaps the food was already good in the days of Renzo Tramaglino, if Manzoni mentions it. Refined decor with a slightly retro, slightly vintage feel. Welcoming staff who pamper you. A menu with just the right number of courses. We tried four different Lombard dishes, all exceeding our expectations: mondeghili, pumpkin risotto, pork cheek, Milanese-style cutlet. To finish, perhaps the best tiramisu we've ever had. The bill was reasonable.

One of the best ossobuco risottos in Milan. I won't say anything else. Lunch in the garden is wonderful when the weather permits.

A historic restaurant in eastern Milan, it recently changed management. The menu is always very interesting, although the risotto with ossobuco and the cotoletta, typical dishes, didn't quite meet the group's expectations. The other dishes were generally well-received. The ambiance is typical of Milan's suburbs, well-maintained and elegant, and it's definitely worth a try.

I went for lunch on Saturday. It's located far from the city, surrounded by greenery, in a beautiful garden, near Linate. For a moment, I felt like I was far from Milan, in another era. In fact, the trattoria dates back to the 1400s, even mentioned by Manzoni in his "The Betrothed." As soon as I arrived, I immediately fell in love with its vintage/retro style. It has several rooms, one more intimate with a fireplace, the others larger and more spacious (also for ceremonies). The trattoria offers over 150 wines. The menu offers traditional Milanese and Sicilian dishes. I tried: Welcome arancini; Pumpkin and porcini mushroom tart with fresh cheese cream and mustard; Suckling pig in tuna sauce with our giardiniera and its sauce; Mondeghili pasta with butter and salsa verde; Saffron risotto and veal ossobuco in gremolada (2 people per person). Wine: Mombrione, with an intense aroma and a bold, full-bodied flavor. Dessert: Shortcrust pastry cake with seasonal fruit and cream. I had a wonderful time; excellent food, fast service, and a charming location. Average prices.
