Al Vecchio Mulino In Modica

We were there on Sunday, November 30. The place and the entertainment were lovely, although the music was too loud and made it difficult to communicate. A note about the service: if there are four people sitting at a table, they try to bring all four dishes together and not serve another table, leaving only three (and all four were the same). The bread was damp and inedible, so we left it there... Let's hope they take the criticism into consideration.

One of those unexpectedly perfect nights in Sicily with no reservations or research done. I think I just ate the best pizza I ever had in life and experienced so welcoming, caring and professional staff. I am really happy right now!

I visited this restaurant recently and was very pleased with it. The setting is elegant and welcoming, with a pleasant yet slightly rustic atmosphere, making the experience enjoyable and relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful, attentive but never intrusive. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, including the excellent pizzas, a well-balanced mix of tradition and creativity. My meal was beautifully plated and prepared with quality ingredients. The flavors were authentic and harmonious. The wait times were also more than reasonable. The prices are in line with the quality, with no surprises. Ultimately, it's a place I'd happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for a well-prepared meal in a pleasant setting.

After not coming to this restaurant for many years, hearing that the management had changed, I returned a few nights ago and ate outside. The service was truly attentive and thorough, the food good, with truly unique dishes like the carob fettuccine with yellow cherry tomatoes on a cream of Ragusano cheese. Given how successful it was tonight, we returned with friends and were unpleasantly surprised that we couldn't eat outside due to the excessive humidity—which wasn't there. The difference is significant, given that the air conditioning was inadequate. The pasta itself lacked the yellow cherry tomatoes and was served with red cherry tomatoes and no Ragusano cheese. The napkins, which are paper on the outside—a shameful lapse in style—into cloth bags with cutlery inside—at least that much—and the service was inattentive and decidedly slow. Bottom line: we had the impression that the staff had been absent, and this had convinced them to concentrate the customers in one place without the service being up to par. The first course, which was delicious last time, was truly subpar this evening, given the lack of ingredients, and no one bothered to warn us that it would be different from what was listed on the menu. Quite an expense considering the €20 price tag, which seems way too much for a first course. In short, if you get a good experience, don't repeat the experience; you might be disappointed...!!!
