Al Quadrato In La spezia

Restaurant chosen for New Year's Eve dinner between 7pm and 9pm, with à la carte menu, therefore without the option of a fixed menu. Attracted by the positive reviews we wanted to try the place but were a little disappointed. We took four spaghetti with seafood whose taste was not the best, rated 6/10, a tagliolini with lobster rated 7/10 and some gnocchi which were quite good. We then all had a mixed fry (which unfortunately wasn't very "mixed") which was 7.5/10. Finally the desserts were not the best, 6/10. At the end of the evening (8.21pm) we ask for two coffees and the waitress asks us in a pleasant tone to go and get them at the counter because "she needed the table", the place was still "empty", she was almost certainly referring to the customers arriving at 21 when the fixed menu dinner would have started, I don't see the reason to ask a table to get up 40 minutes before when they will be served again, especially when the place is practically empty. This is the only reason for the rating for the service, together with the fact that the POS was not working, I obviously cannot judge, but coincidentally on New Year's Eve it decides not to work? I say this after the fact that, in 6 of us, having taken 6 first courses, 6 mixed fried foods, 5 desserts (and 6 place settings), the total was €25 each, from the à la carte menu we consulted, we would have had to spend more, and since receipt (made on request) was beaten "Fixed menu ×6", but let's try to trust it.

Very good restaurant whether it is fish or pasta....... Great service even though we don't speak Italian

At the square you can eat really well, the menu is always different, seasonal dishes, mainly fish, the catch of the day, they also make pizza in the evening 🍕 truly fantastic, excellent wines and what can I say about the homemade desserts... the only flaw is that it's hard to find parking. I recommend trying it then as I always say what I like may not please everyone, thanks

There are lapses in style in the La Spezia fish restaurants that I will never be able to understand, such as giving a lot of starters but not all of them cooked or prepared at home, when the muscles made in 3/4/5 traditional ways would be enough to satisfy every eagle that comes respect. Apart from this, I tasted the classic seafood dishes in an outdoor area that wasn't very welcoming. Friendly and attentive services, honest account, the correct rating would be 3.5 but the half star is intended to be of encouragement.

Awesome. Good food, varied and at a very good price (authentic pizza but also typical dishes of mussels, squid, grilled varieties...even lobster!). The atmosphere is very cool, the owner is very funny and the waitress who speaks Spanish at least an award for being salty!

Central but not too much which is definitely an advantage. Informal but tidy and clean environment. Food cooked with skill. We ate excellent fish-based first and second courses: ravioli with swordfish and aubergines, Sorrento-style paccheri, gnocchi with crab, Catalan-style octopus, grilled tuna with pistachio and mixed fried fish. Last but not least, the inevitable stuffed muscles in La Spezia style. Notable. Also recommended for Stefano's courtesy and friendliness.

If you want to eat super well and at honest prices, Quadrato is number one.
