Absolutely deserves the title of best restaurant around Lake Como. The hosts and owners are wonderful people who do everything they can to provide the best to the people who respect their way of conducting their craft.

A delightful discovery. Walking through the streets of Varenna, we noticed a charming, private and elegant corner. We appreciated the refined menu, which offers fresh dishes made with local ingredients, something never predictable and, above all, authentic and non-touristy. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The service was attentive and elegant. If you're in the Varenna area and want to treat yourself to a truly delightful experience, stop by.

One of the best meals we had on our trip! The lamb chops were tender and juicy, and every dish — from the beef tartare to the homemade lasagna and rich tomato soup — was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We visited on a rainy afternoon, and the quiet, cozy atmosphere made it the perfect escape from the weather. Highly recommend this gem in Varenna!

Got a table towards the end of lunch without a reservation and it was one of the best (if not best) meals of the trip. The pasta was amazing, with the flavors of the cheese perfectly shining through. Eggplant Parmesan was incredible; everything about it felt elevated. Affogato was a delicious end to the meal. While we didn't need to put down a 100 Euro deposit for a reservation, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. This place is definitely worth it!

Everything was outstanding! One of the best restaurants we have dined at in our 1.5mon trip in Italy. Many flies were attracted by our food 😂

Excelente cocina italiana del norte en el corazón de Varenna. Este es posiblemente el mejor restaurante en Varenna (y estaba en el top 3 de los restaurantes en nuestro viaje al norte de Italia y Suiza). Sin duda reservar temprano si quieres conseguir una mesa - observamos a varias personas que pasaron y no fueron capaces de conseguir una mesa hasta la noche siguiente (o más tarde) , pero el esfuerzo definitivamente vale la pena.

Al Prato es realmente un restaurante maravilloso! Situado en un rincón tranquilo de Varenna, ofrece platos verdaderamente únicos para todos. Giovanni, Lorenzo y Victor no podrían ser más acogedores. Con respecto a los individuos que le dan a este restaurante 1 estrella son novatos. En toda la información relativa al restaurante, indica que las reservas deben hacerse en persona. A nuestra llegada a Varenna, caminamos hasta el restaurante y nos aseguramos un lugar para la noche siguiente. Para la persona que se quejó de que su correo electrónico no fue respondido en inglés, ¿se olvidaron de que este es un restaurante italiano que valora su patrimonio y costumbres italianas. Al prato es fantástico y merece todos los elogios que recibe. P.D. además de la comida la carta de vinos es increíble!
