We went here for lunch when we visited Varenna. We expected decent food from the 4.7 rating, but it was even beyond our expectation. We had smoked goose breast and mussel soup for our appetizer, T-bone steak and sea bass fillet as the main courses. Everything was absolutely amazing!

Great service and cozy atmosphere, but food however - we were not impressed. We had foie grass, sea bass and steak, the only thing I could give 5 stars was tiramisu. Everything else was not bad but definitely not 4.8 rate worth, at this rate we expected fine dining level and this is far from the ‘wow’ you get at fine dining places. It was boring, mediocre taste, all dishes have same sides, which to me seems lazy or budget.
Presentation of the food was great. Which is a but misleading.

Expected a little better to be honest for the price level and after reading the reviews, the starter was great and lasagne nice but lacking in meat (though maybe that's the local recipe?), local red wine was poor for the price charged, after touring Italy for 4 weeks this was the worst red I've tasted. The service was good and it's certainly popular.

Grilled octopus, warm chocolate cake and Tiramisu were the highlights for us! Lamb chop was very tender. Service was very welcoming as well!

My partner and I had lunch in this splendid restaurant, we really appreciated the atmosphere and the friendliness. The food was fresh and delicious, from the starters to the main course, not to mention the dessert, the chef sent us a dessert created that day, with a preparation impossible to describe.
We were enthusiastic about it, highly recommended, thanks to its owner Giovanni and all his staff.

Variety of menu with daily dish options. The steak is super tender and delicious, as is the lasagna. The pear dessert with wine is a work of art in appearance and flavor. The waiters are super attentive explaining the details of the dishes that are served. On busy days, it's best to book.
