A private atmosphere, excellent service, both in terms of the wine selection and the detailed presentation of the dishes. Excellent quality of the meat: the first courses and the pigeon are highly recommended (don't be fooled!!). Perfect for a romantic dinner or a culinary treat!

We had the tasting menu, and it was truly excellent. The mushrooms with potato foam and the melt-in-your-mouth octopus were particularly outstanding. We would have loved to order another portion, but it was too late for the kitchen. Unfortunately, the otherwise very friendly service felt somewhat neglected. We were often left sitting with empty bottles and glasses, and no one came to ask if we wanted anything else. Coffee wasn't offered with dessert, and we couldn't even ask for it because the waiter disappeared immediately after explaining the dessert. In short, the food and ambiance were top-notch. The service, however, left something to be desired. Perhaps it was the corner table, or maybe the waiter was just having an off day—who knows?

We ordered à la carte, and found a decent selection of meat and fish dishes. Attentive and knowledgeable service (the sommelier gave us excellent advice and allowed us to sample some dishes). The quality of the food was excellent, from appetizers to dessert, and everything was carefully prepared. I confirm that some dishes are served in small portions (the grilled octopus, for example). The price paid for the food reflects the quality of the cuisine and the service. A lovely place, we had a great time, thank you!

The price-performance ratio is simply not right. The kitchen is ambitious, but the execution is rather mediocre. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the decor harmonious – which makes the rest all the more disappointing. The service was cold to the point of being dismissive, the vegetarian options meager, and the portions barely filling even after three courses. A single friendly waiter couldn't save the evening. Anyone dining in this price range expects more than mediocrity and a bad mood.

They regularly update the menu, so you always get to try something different and innovative. Each dish is meticulously crafted and beautifully balanced; the flavors range from the most classic to the most sophisticated, and the presentation is always impeccable. The wine list is well-stocked, with prices appropriate to the market and the location. The service is magnificent, very professional and attentive, but with a hint of familiarity, it becomes friendly and fun. The price, contrary to what others say, is more than reasonable for the quality of the dishes, the service, and the attention to detail. Il Petes isn't a place, it's an experience to be had. You are unique 💛 Ps. Everyone try the grilled mushrooms and the risotto with snails: your hearts will fill with joy!

A culinary island in the heart of Trieste. Fantastic service with particular attention to the wine cellar, not extremely well-stocked, but essential and refined.

I went there once while I was doing some work for them, and they treated me to lunch. Spectacular! Delicious!
