27/08/2024: we went for dinner with my wife on a Friday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
everything as I expected, a very classy place, attentive and friendly staff and very high quality food, exceptional raw materials and flavours..
I wanted a "starry" dinner and anniversary and so it was...
I also publicly thank you for the good wishes at dessert time and I hope to see you again soon..
26/08/2024: The resort
A sort of widespread hotel, it looks like a very small town, beautiful and well furnished rooms. There is no TV and the telephone has little connection, as does the Wi-Fi in the higher rooms. It is not a disservice, it is a choice of the management to have greater tranquility, the will and that it is in an oasis of peace and in fact silence reigns, sounds of nature.
The reception is not always active in the evening, especially when the restaurant is closed.
Excellent welcome upon arrival, a very polite and professional boy told us everything we needed to know.
You can go to have breakfast at the restaurant, with an excellent quality and variety of local products, the same that they will send you in your room with a basket adding a small surcharge, to enjoy it on the veranda in complete tranquility. Breakfast in both cases is extra to the cost of the room.
A few days here for excellent relaxation!
When we arrived the light to go up to the first floor of the house was not working, we warned for 3 days in a row, nothing...staircase remained dark for the entire stay (first bad note)
Restaurant
7-course tasting menu for 95 euros (2 starters, 2 first courses, 2 meats, dessert).
The frico on the stick gave me more of an idea of Parmigiano Reggiano cooked in a pan
The char is excellent with good acidity and just the right amount of moisture. Good courgettes but it is a dish that is missing something. The aubergine tortelli are very good and the small pea flour gnocchi are fantastic. The duck was very pleasant, cooked perfectly and paired well. The sorbet with vinegar is surprising.
We skipped the veal by choice.
Another surprise was the elderberry marinated watermelon dessert.
Choice of wine made with the sommelier to whom we described the type of wine we wanted, the proposal was not right because it was completely far from the request, promptly replaced with another wine and this time a very central choice. However, I don't like that the wine is not opened at the table, but the bottle arrives already opened (second discordant note)
Good level of service, but little emphasis on the dishes, having some information on ingredients and preparation methods would be better for a one-star restaurateur.
