Leaving for Kefalonia, my wife and I stopped here for lunch at the beginning of August. The place was beautiful and clean, with friendly staff and fast service. We ordered a portion of rice, potatoes, and mussels (good), a plate of orecchiette allo scoglio (good), a mixed fried platter of calamari, 2 prawns, and 6-7 small red mullets (good), and a bottle of water. Price: €80.

A restaurant just outside the walls of Bari Vecchia. We had the house ricotta cheese as an appetizer, orecchiette with tomato and basil (perhaps they should have been cooked a couple of minutes longer), long pasta with fisherman sauce, an excellent and very fresh raw seafood dish, and two sorbets. Excellent and helpful service. A truly unique restaurant in the heart of Bari.

If u looking for amazing seafood. This is the place. Outdoor/indoor dining space. Friendly welcoming and helpful staff. Delicious food with great vibes. Local seafood with a beautiful presentation. And homemade limoncello is a must have after dinner.

A historic Bari trattoria, authentic and unpretentious, where seafood is the star, and the raw ham certainly deserves a special mention. Fresh, high-quality ingredients are served in an atmosphere that preserves the flavor of Bari's tradition. Special praise goes to Edoardo, the ever-smiling, helpful, and attentive waiter, whose courtesy made the dinner even more enjoyable.

A truly positive experience. Super fresh fish, carefully prepared dishes, and generous portions. You can sense the attention to the quality of the ingredients and the tradition of seafood cuisine. Special thanks to Edoardo, who looked after us with great professionalism, kindness, and availability throughout the evening, offering us the best advice. 26/04/2026: Lunch with a friend, sea view, tagliolini with 1/2 lobster, marinated tuna, spaghetti with clams, the only flaw was the slightly salty tomato.
12/04/2026: L'Ancora's new location in Capitolo enjoys a truly privileged location: the sea view is simply breathtaking and creates a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for lunch or dinner with the sound of the waves in the background. We started with a few seafood appetizers, all very good and beautifully presented. The octopus alla luciana, in particular, was a bit less delicious; I would have added a little more salt to better enhance the flavors. The first course was truly enjoyable and flavorful; the only small complaint concerns the pasta, which I would have preferred a little more al dente. The fried food was also very good, light and well-executed. The value for money is in line with the location and the quality of the ingredients. The service was overall good and attentive, although I would point out one small oversight: they didn't bring a dish for the clam shells, a simple but useful detail for greater convenience at the table. Overall, the experience was positive: spectacular location, quality cuisine, and friendly staff. A place definitely worth a visit, especially for those who love eating fish with a splendid sea view.
