Al Gelso is a casual restaurant in the center of Udine. It is frequented by both locals and tourists. It is particularly popular and well-known among Austrians. It serves pizza, pasta, and other typical Italian dishes. Also, or perhaps especially, the steak selection deserves mention; it is fantastic. High-quality steaks from various regions, from Italy to Germany, Ireland, and Spain, and the open grill are worth a visit. Vegetarians and vegans should probably avoid the restaurant, as the steak display cases are a visual highlight for meat lovers like me (a bit of an outing), but perhaps a distraction for other target groups.

It has been our go-to pizzeria for years.
The quality is always excellent and the choice very varied.
The restaurant also has a wide choice, both meat and fish.
A fridge dedicated to meat, visible, and a large grill that is always lit complete the offer.
The drinks are also good, where nothing is missing.
We return and we will return.
