Old school vibe. Had assorted fried fish and shellfish, a massive plate of Pasta Alla Norma, swordfish past, and local dry white wine— so good! Papa Lardo runs the place and is very friendly.

In this typical Catania fish restaurant it is not enough to count the stars. Add 5 for your friendliness and helpfulness. Also for affordability.

Oggi 29 dicembre sono stato nel ristorante Gabbiano 2 il cibo era molto molto buono, i camerieri erano molto cortesi e portano piatti in abbondante quantità ed non siamo nemmeno riusciti a finirli ma posso confermare che erano buonissimi. L' unica cosa brutta è che per raggiungere il bagno dei maschi devi salire le scale

23/06/2025: Food was really good, service was quick and polite. Highly recommend.
21/06/2025: The plane was delayed by two hours, we decided to enjoy a last fish dinner and without knowing it we went to the restaurant La Baracca. We were rewarded across the board: welcoming and professional staff, excellent food, very suggestive location. We could not have wished for better. The availability of the staff and the owner exceeded all expectations and we will be eternally grateful to them.
