Really beautiful location but the same cannot be said about the cuisine.
I added some photos of things we ordered and they reach the sufficiency as far as I'm concerned.
Pretty good meatballs.
Octopus (which was octopus) cooked really badly, as you can see from the photo; the flavor of the accompanying sauce was truly horrendous.
Pasta with a sauce that tasted the same as a sauce I ate in Ukraine, the kitchen has probably never seen an Italian chef and it shows all in the dishes.
Pre-cooked pasta that shouldn't be there in an à la carte restaurant.
Clearly the restaurant works with tourists and not with locals, to be clear, the tourist comes once and never comes back.
I am 30 minutes from Matera and I guarantee that I will return and recommend it.

Dining at Casa Taccardi means encountering tradition in an environment that excellently mixes the soul of Matera with design. We learned about the origin of the dishes thanks to the owner, who meticulously takes care of the preparation... Super recommended!

All excellent, we took:
Meatballs, crackiata, orecchiette with Lucanian sausage ragù and ancient fusilli with datterini tomatoes, to finish the cannoli with ricotta with the wafer made with local bread... all sublime... Mr. Taccardi served us with sympathy, kindness and hospitality, explaining to us the entire preparation of every single dish. Very recommended

The place is nice, well-kept and welcoming. The menu is varied and well done, with particular dishes but suitable for all tastes. The pasta is excellent, but all the other dishes we tried, from the aperitif to the dessert, were wonderful.

The place is nice and well-kept, slightly outside the historic center but easily reachable on foot.
The staff were friendly but the service was quite slow even though the room wasn't full.
The bread balls are excellent.
The first courses were interesting but I expected a stronger flavor from the seasoning which I didn't find.
Pasta handmade by them, definitely a plus.

Restaurant that combines tradition, history, family and modern quality, in a unique mix that evokes the flavors of Lucania and also allows non-natives to participate in that peasant past and transhumance that characterizes this land so sui generis...The cannoli and the pastoral pignata absolutely deserve a taste, but the fish is also really well cooked, despite being in the hinterland of Basilicata...

We had dinner yesterday, August 4th, and we asked Gianfranco (the owner) to recommend a typical Matera dinner. From the platter of cold cuts and cheeses, through the mixed grill and concluding with the lamb pignata accompanied by grilled vegetables, all local products of the highest quality, some of which come from his own farm. An amazing dinner, a modern and well-kept venue with professional, attentive and very welcoming staff. If you visit Matera, you cannot fail to add a stop at Taccardi Gianfranco's Ristorante '900 to your tour.
