A lovely stroll through the charming historic center of Matera was the perfect backdrop for our lunch at "Ristorante '900 Casa Taccardi." The interior is very distinctive, having been created from a dwelling carved into the limestone rock, typical of rural civilization, which housed both people and animals in a single space. We tried several courses on the menu (from appetizers to desserts) and thoroughly enjoyed them all. A special mention goes to the excellent sliced beef steak, which melted in the mouth. The house Primitivo wine is also excellent. We highly recommend it, as we are wary of touristy places.

Highly recommended. Everything was delicious. The service was also excellent. The owner served us and gave us great recommendations for the food and wine. At the end of the meal, he gave us a free bag of pasta and a bottle of Amaro Lucano with our desserts. It's definitely worth having dinner there. Thank you for everything. If I return to Matera, I will definitely come back.

A lovely restaurant, but above all, excellent cuisine. The broad beans and chicory are delicious. The bread meatballs and crusco peppers are excellent, but the braised cheek is truly exceptional. The service is quick and friendly, and the price is average. Definitely worth a try.

In Matera, for other reasons, we decided, encouraged by the good reviews, to book a lunch for six here. It's a welcoming and tastefully decorated restaurant on the edge of the Sassi district. It offers a varied menu, with special mention for the local pasta and bread. We enjoyed several dishes, all carefully prepared and delicious. The desserts (especially the millefeuille and cannoli) and the house wine were excellent. The owners were very courteous and attentive to their guests' needs. The complimentary package of their homemade pasta at the end of the meal was greatly appreciated.

#1 restaurant in Matera! I highly recommend. The owner is the sweetest person ever and so hospitable. The food was delicious. I have no words because I am so so full with amazing food from Matera.
