'900 Restaurant In Matera

As a small group, we spontaneously got a nice table for lunch. Afterwards, the restaurant filled up with a mix of local and international guests. We were lucky – the food and atmosphere were excellent!

Excellent. My husband and I came for dinner tonight. The pasta, the meat, and the appetizers were delicious. The atmosphere was peaceful. The waitress was incredibly friendly, and the head waiter was very elegant and courteous. A fantastic experience!

Excellent quality food at reasonable prices

The restaurant is welcoming, not very large, and is housed in a renovated historic building furnished with contemporary touches. The staff is friendly and discreet, attentive, and thoughtful. In our case, there was a slight delay, but they made up for it with generous measures to compensate for the unintended delay! They were truly lovely!! The dishes are delicious: you get the feeling you're eating truly local, quality ingredients! Tip: Don't miss the sweet shepherd's pie accompanied by flavored wine—it's truly delicious! I highly recommend it.

We had the most wonderful dinner at Ristorante ‘900 Taccardi last night. Every dish celebrated the authentic flavours of Basilicata, from the traditional roasted peppers (il peperone crusco) to the breaded meatballs, everything was cooked with so much care and flavour. The highlight was definitely the medaglioni with eggplant and provola cheese, rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. It is a true family-run restaurant where you instantly feel at home. The hospitality was warm, genuine, and full of pride for their local traditions. We even left with a bag of their homemade pasta to take back to Sydney, such a beautiful gesture and a perfect reminder of this special place. If you are visiting the area, do not miss this gem. It is everything you want from a local Italian dining experience, authentic food, lovely people, and an atmosphere full of heart.

Significantly overpriced. Good, but not exceptional. It's best to leave the Sassi to eat.

The menu is very comprehensive, the food is excellent, both meat and fish, and the owner was incredibly kind and delicious. We'll be back soon, and in the meantime, I recommend everyone to try it.
