16/02/2025: I went to the estate for a tasting (canova expirience). The visit to the cellar/museum was very interesting and well organized. Mattia, who accompanied us, was very kind and well prepared on our curiosities. The tasting was interesting and informative and the wines offered were much appreciated. Super positive experience.
15/02/2025: Valentine's evening, excellent cuisine and (obviously) excellent wine. The interior decor is a little cold, the menu is limited but the quality of the ingredients is excellent. We took the tempura cicchetti and two second courses of meat (tender and tasty). Very good homemade dessert. Advised.

31/12/2024: structure surrounded by vineyards, about 300m from the Colà thermal park. fantastic rooms well equipped with every comfort, welcoming staff always ready to make you feel loved. the only flaw is the cost of the bathrobe to access the spa, which, if you buy it from them and don't bring it from home, costs €30 and from the way the lady who brought them to us thought it was almost that he wanted to give them to us for free or at a reduced price and only after having accepted them did he accompany us to the cash register to make us pay a good €60. the bathrobes are 100% mid-range quality cotton. for the rest it was a fantastic experience and I recommend it for anyone who wants to take a break to regenerate.

08/10/2024: Ate lunch here on our day visit to Lazise from Peschiera, the view is beautiful of the lake. Our lunch was very nice, I enjoyed my simple tuna mayo sandwich warmed, my husband loved his bruschetta with parma ham & parmesan cheese, they also give you nibbles like olives & crisps. The service was very pleasant too. A lovely place to people watch & relax on the lake promenade.

17/08/2024: We had dinner at the Dome restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday: a truly impeccable restaurant in everything, from the aperitif we were able to have on the hotel terrace to the dinner by the pool overlooking the lake. High level location and even more staff capable of making you feel at ease. Refined dishes with quality products, you can feel the refinement of the raw materials with which the dishes are made. Abundant first courses and normal prices for the place. Wine list with a wide choice for all tastes. There are not only fish dishes but also meat dishes. Nice and very intimate environment, I also recommend it for a romantic dinner where the aim is to amaze the other person.

15/12/2024: Tipico ristorante turistico sulla passeggiata di Lazise, giudico solo la pizza perché abbiamo mangiato solo quella.
Buoni gli ingredienti anche se la pasta non è quella che prediligo, questa è abbastanza spessa e gommosa ma devo altresì dire che va giù molto bene, ottimi i dolci, personale veloce e gentile, prezzi un po' sull'alto ma da queste parti sono la norma.
Concludendo uno dei tanti ristorantini turistici che si trovano in queste località, vale comunque una fermata.

01/08/2024: Ein guter Platz um einen netten und gepflegten Abend zu verbringen. Essen ist ok.
Service erinnert ein wenig an Massenabfertigung aber nichts desto trotz kann man es sich dort schmecken lassen. Die Preise sind eigentlich ganz moderat und angemessen wenn man bedenkt das es eine Touristenhochburg ist.
01/08/2024: Het eten is hier matig. We hadden onder andere 2 vega burgers besteld waarvan er 1 koud was. Nadat we dit aangegeven hadden werd deze opgehaald en na 1 min weer terug gebracht. Is deze met broodje, saus en groente zo in de magnetron geschoven.
Het drinken werd voor de helft geserveerd zonder ijsklontjes (Het was 37 graden dus dit is vrij normaal dat je een ijsklontje in je cola mag verwachten)
Bij het bedienend personeel kon er sowieso geen lach vanaf maar de hoofdpropper die je naar binnen schreeuwt hoort echt niet in een restaurant thuis. Wij kregen een tafel aangewezen maar andere mensen die via de zijkant plaats wilde nemen op het terras kregen gewoon de wind van voren, lijkt me in de horeca niet echt de bedoeling.
Wij zullen hier iig niet meer terug komen en raden andere ook aan om iets anders te zoeken.

30/08/2024: General overview - food was good (probably 4*) but service really lacking most days (probably 2* or even 1*) to the point where we stopped visiting.
✅ first visit was excellent, had veggie pizza options, great service by man in white shirt who appeared to be the manager at the time.
❌ second visit incredibly poor, different staff, different floor manager, felt completely ignored, most of the time we were there no staff visible or accessible. When we asked to pay, we were asked if we were sure if we didn't want desserts, but we hadn't even been given a dessert menu. Really poor. Food was lovely however, we had the tortellino and risotto options.
❌ third visit unfortunately just as bad. Seated, water offered up, left for 20 minutes before orders taken. Coca cola wasn't brought until reminded when food was delivered. Food was good again. Complimentary bread basket also brought, in 3 visits this was the first time this had happened. After this visit, we decided we would either not eat here again or we would order it to go and have it in our room. It almost started to feel like others were getting preferential service, possibly because they were tipping, but we paid by card and it didn't seem to be an option.
Notes
- the 'coperta' is a non optional charge, apparently for the cutlery etc. It replaces a service charge and is common across Italy.
- the water offered is actually 3E per bottle, and never seems to be delivered intact, rather they open it first and pour. It is entirely possible the bottles are just refilled with tap water.
28/06/2024: Big inconsistency between the menu and the dishes served, already from the appetizer the fassona steak was seasoned differently from what was written but, the waitress had warned us, we took it anyway and it was very good, from then on the big disappointment calamarata was without the chopped mussels and clams and the bottarga, not even the ombrai, I can't say it was bad but it was certainly not what I expected, the desserts were frozen cream with a smoothie in something unidentified, accompanied by a mango puree tasteless overall. It's a shame the reviews had made us imagine a refined dinner in a beautiful square instead... an experience not to be repeated

Porta Lion - Restaurant & Pizza Gourmet

10/12/2023: Arrivato dopo le 22 di ritorno dal Trentino, nonostante l'ora sono stato accolto senza problemi (altri ristoranti in zona mi avevano rimbalzato).
La cucina è curata ed i piatti sono ottimi. Anche il consiglio sui vini si è rivelato competente ed azzeccato.
Ottimo anche il dolce... Che dire consigliatissimo e da ritornare.
19/11/2023: Siamo entrati in questo ristorante attratti dal menù apparentemente molto curato. Ordiniamo un piatto di tagliolini al luccio con limone candito e spuma di finocchio e uno spaghetto alla chitarra con mazzancolle crude e cotte e melanzana, ci avvertono che ci vorranno 10 Min di attesa per i piatti.
Nel frattempo vediamo che intorno a noi vengono offerte entree anche ai clienti che si erano accomodati dopo di noi. Dopo quasi 1 ora viene offerta l'entree anche a noi. Quando arrivano i piatti, le paste si presentano con fondo brodoso, la spuma di finocchio e la melanzana non pervenute. Dopo qualche boccone dei miei tagliolini, trovo un pezzo di paglietta di metallo, si scusano, mi viene spiegato che può succedere che della paglietta per pulire finisca tra la pasta. Mi viene portato un nuovo piatto: questa volta nei tagliolini non trovo i canditi di limone, né il finocchio, ma una crema di peperoni e vongole insieme al luccio. Un altro piatto, senza alcun preavviso o spiegazione della modifica.
Nel frattempo agli altri commensali viene offerto un dolce, noi rimaniamo in attesa ma nulla. Chiediamo il conto, ma nessuno arrivo, ci dobbiamo dunque alzare e ci vengono fatti pagare entrambi i piatti a prezzo pieno (anche quello con la paglietta). Paghiamo 4 euro ciascuno di coperto, ma il dolce, offerto a tutti gli ospiti, a noi non è mai arrivato. È stata una situazione davvero triste e spiacevole: in ogni punto di vista - cucina, servizio, rapporto con il cliente - è mancata cura e professionalità. Davvero molto dispiaciuta e delusa.

16/05/2024: La location è molto bella, se si ha fortuna ci si può gustare dell'ottimo cibo vista lago. Elegante, personale gentile e servizio con un'ottima tempistica tra una portata e l'altra. A mio gusto unico "neo" nella frittura di pesce i calamari erano leggermente gommosi. Per il resto, tutto ottimo! Ci ritornerò sicuramente, magari prenotando così non faccio la coda!

22/10/2024: Trotzdem es am Ort sehr viele Touristen gibt sind die Leute tolle Gastgeber. Alles ist sehr sauber. Die Vielfalt der Getränke und Essen ist unglaublich.
07/10/2024: Waren Gestern Abend auf einen Sundowner sehr schön mit Life Musik auf der „ Ecke“ vor dem Restaurant haben dann spontan für heute Abend einen Tisch bestellt. Heute Abend waren wir die einzigen Gäste ( Montag und Regnerisch)
Essen war Gut und Bedienung war sehr Nett !
