23/12/2025: Contrary to the information on the website, the alpine pasture is closed! :( Before our hike, we specifically checked the current opening hours of the Laab Alm several times. The website and numerous advertising boards stated that it was only closed on Mondays. Even the sign right in front of the door indicated this today. There was a light on, and we could hear voices and laughter coming from inside – but the door was locked! Two very friendly, shivering guests were sitting outside on a bench with their own provisions and told us they had knocked, but that cold drinks like beer and water were only available upon urgent request. No food or hot drinks were available. We had brought our own cold water – after the climb in the cold winter air, we had been really looking forward to a hot meal and a warm drink. So, we had no choice but to hike back down the mountain empty-handed. There, we stopped at one of the many very friendly and good restaurants in Deutschnofen, where we warmed up and enjoyed a good meal. We therefore cannot recommend a hike with a stop at the Labalm.

04/10/2025: A lovely hut in itself. Kaiserschmarrn isn't usually available at lunchtime. So we left the wonderful hut a bit further away to enjoy dessert at the Laab Hut after 2 p.m. The waitress came to the table without a menu, so we ordered drinks by guessing what was on offer. There was no food at all, even though it's advertised everywhere. So we had to get a drink and then quickly left, but no one came. So we went inside to pay, where the guests were charged like at a snack bar. Bad service, no food—what more could you want at an alpine hut?

06/01/2026: Unfortunately, the experience was decidedly negative. Seating is very limited and often takes up space due to personal items left on the tables by people who arrive early in the morning and then leave for hours, without the staff intervening or monitoring the situation. This behavior creates great discomfort and makes it virtually impossible to use the service. For those with children, the situation becomes even more problematic: finding a place for them to eat is almost impossible, turning what should be a simple and enjoyable experience into a source of stress. The experience is further aggravated by the prices, which are excessive and completely disproportionate to the service offered and the overall organization. Overall, the management lacks customer care and the quality-price ratio is unsatisfactory. We won't be returning.

28/12/2025: Our go-to place for over 10 years when we're in Val di Fiemme. It's often very busy in the winter: I highly recommend reserving a table at the restaurant if you're planning on eating lunch, to avoid being left empty-handed (it's always hard to find a free table at the self-service restaurant). The prices are high, in line with mountain resorts, but they're absolutely justified by the generous portions, often enough for a main course. Don't miss the strudel: exceptional and always generously portioned... perfect for sharing!
