05/04/2025: Basic family-run hotel with a level of services and restaurant aligned with their low prices.
03/04/2025: I am only reviewing the bar because the hotel was closed. Welcoming restaurant with plentiful and economical rustic cuisine. Great place for a nice plate of pasta after a trip.
Be careful not to confuse the reviews with the hotel and the adjacent peak of the same name!

23/03/2025: Esperienza positiva!
Posto incantato, tipicamente in stile chalet, in legno...molto intimo ed accogliente.
Personale inizialmente freddino..ma vista la temperatura, accogliamo.. difatti all'indomani, ci siamo ricreduti immediatamente.
La prima cosa che mi ha catturato l'attenzione: la pulizia! In ogni angolo, c'era ed era visibile.Inoltre, la cura dei dettagli l'ho riscontrata in molti punti: dalle rifiniture in pietra, incastonate nelle perline, alla lucina per creare la giusta illuminazione, al semplice portasapone collocato nella doccia...tutto l'essenziale messo a disposizione con cura e professionalità.
Il luogo nei dintorni è fiabesco..immerso in una cornice da favola, a bordo piste ed impianti di risalita. Il tutto, guarnito con una SPA che purtroppo, non abbiamo potuto provare per problemi tecnici...ma ci siamo ripromessi di ritornarci al più presto.
Magnifica esperienza...grazie Boule de Neige!
20/03/2025: We spent a wonderful week at Boule de Neige, with 6 families of friends and countless children who felt at home. The hotel is very well run, it's clean, well located (literally on the slope), we eat wonderfully. Thank you to the Boule family for this generous welcome of which we will all keep very fond memories.

02/05/2025: Be cautious, take care as you can't contact them in any way and they avoid any money return if they can't offer the service they offer! They asked me for 30euros in order to make a reservation, it was not possible to visit the restaurant due to recent floods and extremely bad weather at the area and they informed me that I could not visit them. Till now they refuse to return the money I have sent them via money transfer to their banking account number. Following the message I send them in Italian….
Dear,
I gave you a deposit of 30 euros for the reservation I made for a dinner for two people on 4/21/2025. Due to bad weather and the impossibility of accessing the restaurant by car, you informed us that you would return the deposit, but you subsequently informed us that you would not. Considering that it was not possible due to the weather conditions and the information you provided us, please immediately return the amount to the account with the following data. Otherwise, I reserve the right to protect my legal rights through the Italian courts and the competent tax authorities.

03/04/2025: ...a fantastic place...and...
a welcoming restaurant...
Nothing more!!!
I phone at 10.30 to have lunch with a client and I am told that the restaurant is open. After an hour and a half of walking in a beautiful winter environment we arrive and find the stairs full of snow like the outdoor area...
We sit on the benches outside the restaurant and after a moment a boy comes out telling us that the restaurant is closed... but I point out to him that I called and they told me it was open...
After a moment, not seeing anyone come out to tell us whether we could eat or not, I went in and the boy told me that we could eat but with a reduced menu because they were not ready to receive customers.
We took two polenta conce, good even if there was very little polenta compared to the fontina and butter and we waited about 30 minutes for them, I asked for the melted house wine and I was told that the red wine was Lambrusco while the white was Trebbiano, typically Aosta Valley wines...
I asked if we could have a taste of lard, boudin and Aosta Valley sausage and they brought us a small platter with lard, speck, bresaola and coppa... again all typically Aosta Valley.
We ended lunch with two coffees.
Total spent 58.00 euros!!
I was ashamed and apologized to my client.
Shameful!!!
If you can't manage a place, close it...
01/04/2025: Enchanting place reached in winter with a short walk in the snow. Interior of the restaurant with attention to every detail. Courteous staff and excellent food!

Rifugio Benevolo

13/03/2025: Obviously Rifugio Benevolo is perfectly situated for ski touring. But importantly, it is much more than that. We spent two nights there this week, and were treated to a super friendly welcome, terrific meals and a great ambience thanks to the hut guardians. We've been to many alpine huts, and this was a really great experience.
Grazie mille team benevolo, torneremo e manderemo i nostri amici.
05/03/2025: Rifugio ottimamente gestito da personale accogliente e sempre disponibile. Cucina eccelsa ad opera della mitica cuoca Orlandina che ha saputo soddisfare gli esigenti palati di noi 21 scialpinisti affamati. Bis mai negati!. Stanze e servizi molto puliti e ben organizzati. Atmosfera calda, gioviale, allegra e divertente. Complimenti a Mathieu e a tutto lo staff.

24/08/2023: Très bien, dans un petit village, femme très simpas et café pas cher ( 1.30€) cappuccino (1.50) et en plus très bon. Croissant au chocolat 1€20 et très bon.
Serveuse/gérante qui fais l'effort de parler français. Je pense que le restaurant n'ait plus ouvert il y a personne.
15/08/2023: Welcoming place, excellent food, with staff who passed between the tables repeating an encore at each course. To return every time you go up the valley. I also recommend the pizzas and enjoy your meal.

03/01/2025: La scorsa settimana sono salita con gli sci da scialpinismo apposta alla frazione Pellaud per far merenda con mio figlio e mio marito presso questo grazioso locale che frequento tutte le volte che salgo a Notre Dame (piùvolte all'anno). Questa volta tuttavia sono rimasta male per l'assoluta scortesia della titolare a cui interessava solo occuparsi di un gruppo di 16 persone che sarebbe arrivato di lì a poco. Ci ha fatti sloggiare dal tavolo su cui ci eravamo seduti, mettendoci in un angolo, mi ha detto di togliere gli sci da dove li avevo messi e non paga è uscita per metterli dove voleva lei, senza considerare che faceva freddo e i miei attacchi avrebbero potuto ghiacciare e io sarei rimasta bloccata. In più, al momento del conto, mi ha detto di aspettare perché voleva prima servire il gruppo.
N.b. il tavolo da cui ci ha fatto sloggiare è rimasto vuoto e inoltre quando si è accorta che forse stava esagerando, mi ha chiamata indietro per farmi il conto. Tranquilla, signora, nel suo locale non ci metteremo più piede, nonostante siano anni che veniamo, visto che per lei contano solo i gruppi e non i clienti abituali.
....assolutamente delusa!
04/08/2024: Bel bar nel bellissimo paese di Pellaud, con posti sia all'aperto sia al chiuso, ideale per bere un aperitivo dopo le belle escursioni in loco.

25/01/2025: Piccolo locale a Bruil vicinissimo allo snow park. Personale accogliente, servizio velocissimo e tutto molto buono (abbiamo provato la salsiccetta e la cotoletta alla valdostana). Ottimo per chi ha intolleranze, sul menu sono segnalati bene gli allergeni e posso assicurare che i piatti senza glutine sono ottimi (hanno anche birre, dolcetti confezionati e altro senza glutine).
Trovato per caso ma torneremo sicuramente anche d'estate (la zona si presta molto ad un giro in moto)
04/09/2024: Ci dicono troppo tempo per panini, ci viene suggerito primi piatti e ci fanno accomodare fuori. Dopo 15' quando pensavamo di andarcene, arriva al tavolo un altro cameriere che ci dice che anche i panini sono rapidi, forse più dei piatti, allora ordiniamo dei panini arrivati dopo 5' : uno speck e brie (troppo grasso e tagliato spesso, quasi immangiabile) per 5,5 € , il tost ( 3,5 € ) e l'altro panino prosciutto e formaggio ( 5 € ) appena sufficienti e tutti molto semplici e freddi. Unica nota positiva preso una birra agricola artigianale LaDoree, buona e ben illustrata dal cameriere che ci ha servito.

09/03/2025: Cibo ottimo, porzioni anche troppo abbondanti, vini di qualità e locale caratteristico.
Il gestore apparentemente burbero si è poi rivelato a suo modo ospitale.
Da provare.
12/01/2025: Piacevole pranzo in una splendida struttura. Gli gnocchi al blue ottimi, rigorosamente fatti in casa, morbidissimi, polenta concia e costine di maiale buoni, servizio rapido e attento. Prezzo assolutamente in linea con i ristoranti delle altre vallate secondarie. Bravo il gestore/cameriere nonché cuoco!

25/07/2024: La valle di rhemes è meravigliosa, ma qui oltre ad essere in un bel posto, pulito, il personale è davvero cordiale, col sorriso. Ci siamo trovati a fine escursione del lago pellaud e finalmente abbiamo trovato un ristorante che oltre a polenta e valdostana ha in menù piatti di pasta (ragù e pomodoro) che hanno fatto illuminare gli occhi dei nostri figli (orecchiette al ragù ottime) e la semplice bistecca ai ferri (davvero buonissima) con un contorno ottimo di patate e melanzane al forno. Ottimo prezzo qualità.. Buonissimi anche i dolci e il caffè!
Davvero un momento di gioia in una valle di polenta... Siamo rimasti una settimana ed è stato l'unico ristorante che aveva nel Menù non solo polenta! E in cui erano meno scontrosi ma anzi! E noi siamo liguri 😜
