10/02/2026: You should absolutely try this restaurant before the Michelin Guide team discovers it.
The atmosphere is elegant, cozy, and wonderfully quiet.. the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and taken care of.
The wine list is outstanding. Very few restaurants can boast such a well-curated cellar, with truly excellent labels and a selection that shows real depth and knowledge.
The food is simply delicious. And trust me: the photos on Google don’t do it justice at all. Everything looks far better in real life, and the flavors are even more impressive. Each dish is a surprising and refined combination of tastes that I honestly didn’t expect.
Last — but absolutely not least — the service is superb. The sommelier and the waitstaff clearly come from first-class, top-tier restaurants around the world. Professional, attentive, and genuinely passionate.
We ate incredibly well, we felt genuinely welcomed… and we left already thinking about when to come back.
Highly recommended.

29/12/2025: We stumbled upon it by chance... the owner is professional, capable, and friendly, and his 51 years of experience are evident. Excellent food, high-quality, traditional Aosta Valley cuisine. Very fair prices. We'll definitely be back!

26/10/2025: A very nice refuge, good food, but unfortunately, friendliness and courtesy aren't the managers' strong points. Furthermore, the prices are excessively high compared to other refuges in the area offering comparable service.
26/09/2025: I received a gift of an overnight stay for my wife and I, but for various reasons (including the unavailability of rooms in mid-July), I couldn't go. Only today did I discover (the website didn't mention it) that, unlike other refuges in the Valley, the Chaligne will close tomorrow. I asked if I could use the voucher next year, paying any difference due to the price increase, but I was told that the voucher is only valid for 2025 and therefore no longer usable. This response confirmed the numerous negative reviews about the management's behavior. They will certainly never see me again. TIP: AVOID PURCHASING OR GIVING GIFTS IF YOU ARE UNSURE YOU CAN USE THEM.
In response to this review, I received an email from the owner advising me to organize myself better to use the gifts I received. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide on their behavior toward customers, which confirms several other reviews.

02/02/2026: The change in management has left the place bare and neglected; the service is entrusted to a young, inexperienced man, the menu offers five appetizers and thirty pizzas, and the prices are disproportionate (five types of pizza cost €15, a quarter of house wine €5, etc.).

01/04/2025: Dormendo nelle vicinanze siamo stati per cena, quasi per caso. Esperienza molto positiva. Innanzi tutto la simpatia e la cordialità del servizio. Il menù offre una ricca selezione di piatti locali, con porzioni abbondanti e un gusto eccellente.

Servizio cordiale e gentile, i servizi igienici lasciano un po' desiderare,

30/08/2024: Il posto è suggestivo e molto piacevole. La qualità del cibo molto buona ed a km 0. Abbiamo mangiato un piatto di affettati, una fetta di fontina molto buona, una fetta di ricotta, delle zucchine in agrodolce come accompagnamento e poi un piatto di fettine di rostbeef con le patate. Poi un piatto di dolce con tirata e panna cotta. Un caffè e mezzo litro di vino sfuso rosso. Pagato 38 euro a testa!
Errore nostro che non abbiamo chiesto il prezzo prima ma sul sito c’è scritto che il menù completo di antipasto primo secondo formaggio dolce caffè e vino sfuso costa dai 27 ai 30 euro al massimo. Ecco perché 38 euro ci ha lasciati un po’ perplessi visto che il primo non l’abbiamo nemmeno mangiato perché non c’era . Ad ogni modo qualità buona ma chiedete prima il prezzo prima di avere una brutta sorpresa come è accaduto a noi.
