04/12/2025: When we travel the Brenner Pass, we pass through it whenever possible. Just minutes from the Bressanone exit. Rustic beauty, both inside and out. Everything we've tried ranges from very good to excellent. A must-try, when available, is the chestnut soup: it's a magical potion that transports you back in time (in fact, it's much richer and tastier today than it was 190 years ago). My only regret: I've never found mushrooms.

02/12/2025: An absolutely positive experience. We started with a platter: the menu says it's for one person, but it was really generous, so two of us ate easily. Then I finally got to try the famous dumplings with sauerkraut (I highly recommend the spinach ones). I finished with soup, but given the amount of food on the platter, I could have done without it. Very friendly staff. Recommendation

12/12/2025: I stayed at this hotel and it exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful location, welcoming and elegant while retaining its traditional features, yet modern. Beautiful rooms, spacious and welcoming, with attention to every detail. A full breakfast catered to every need, with authentic products. Friendly and attentive staff. The spa is available with a fantastic heated outdoor pool. I highly recommend it.

01/02/2026: We spontaneously decided to spend a night here and received a truly warm welcome. The rooms are tastefully and modernly furnished, yet with a touch of tradition. We were particularly impressed by the location: from the breakfast table, you have a breathtaking view of the surrounding vineyards. Furthermore, Brixen (also suitable for families with children: our son is 8 years old) is about a 20-minute walk away and definitely worth a visit. We will definitely be back :-)

10/01/2026: The food and staff are top-notch, but the property could use a makeover. We stayed at Hotel Pachers for New Year's Eve with our dogs. The food and staff deserve a special mention: the food is simply sublime, varied, and refined, and the staff is young, highly trained, and very polite. Unfortunately, the property was a bit disappointing for a 4-star hotel. We were assigned a room in the older section: spacious but with dated and worn furniture, a small closet, no minibar, and cleanliness could also be improved. The spa was also undersized, with cold pool water. The location is convenient for exploring nearby towns, but less so for those who want to get skiing right away, and it doesn't offer a view. Although they do allow dogs, they don't offer anything for them, like beds, bowls, etc., which we've found in other hotels. Overall, we had a wonderful 4 days, but compared to other 4-star hotels in the area, the property (in the unrenovated section) is a step down.

30/12/2025: Hotel Clara Via Brennero, 64, 39040 Varna, BZ, Italy, located near the border with Bressanone: EXCELLENT RATING In November 2025, we stayed for two weeks at the Clara Family Hotel in Bressanone. The Clara family has been managing hotels and restaurants in the area for several generations, and their longstanding traditions have always distinguished them for their culinary art and hospitality. This hotel has a good number of rooms in the central area, all perfectly equipped and comfortable. Interestingly, there is also an adjacent building accessible both from the outside and via a beautiful and well-lit underground passageway. This building features a beautiful indoor pool, as well as a sauna and a very well-equipped gym. We were given a huge suite of over 40 square meters, equipped with every comfort, including a stone fountain with fresh, local drinking water that flows directly from the high mountains of Scaleres. The double bed is very large and particularly soft and comfortable, not to mention the separate living room and desk. Completing the comfort of the room are the separate toilet with bidet and shower, both very comfortable and with double sinks, making the suite extremely functional. The lighting is exceptional, and the view of the garden is wonderful through large, heat-insulating and soundproof windows that open onto a large balcony. The floors and furniture are all oak. We are pleased to highlight the impeccable cleanliness that reigns supreme throughout the hotel, along with the spontaneous kindness of all the staff, distinguished by their courtesy and professionalism. And finally, we must absolutely highlight the high caliber of the chefs and the quality of the ingredients for both breakfast and dinner, served in a typical Tyrolean-style dining room, expertly managed by Mr. Vassili. The two receptionists, Mrs. Stefi Clara, the owner, and Mrs. Verena, the manager, are unsurpassed in their courtesy and efficiency. The talented owner's performances on some evenings, with his accordion and his traditional Tyrolean music, were pleasant and appreciated. Our rating is undoubtedly EXCELLENT. 29/12/2025: I stayed at this hotel with my family and had a more than satisfactory experience. The room was spacious and very clean, the staff was friendly and available to provide any information requested, the breakfast was varied, and dinner was well-prepared and of excellent quality. A well-equipped gym and spa with a pool are also available. The hotel is well-located, just steps from the historic center and the main tourist attractions. I highly recommend it to everyone! The atmosphere is pleasant, inviting, and perfect for lingering. The food is absolutely outstanding: freshly prepared, incredibly flavorful, and presented with meticulous attention to detail. The small but exquisite menu prioritizes quality over quantity and leaves nothing to be desired. Every dish is thoughtfully designed and perfectly balanced. The fantastic wine selection deserves special mention. In addition to carefully chosen wines, the house wine is particularly impressive, tasting superb and pairing beautifully with the dishes. Attentive and friendly service completes the experience. A restaurant we wholeheartedly recommend – we will definitely be back!

04/01/2026: While staying in Brixen we decided to venture a few minutes out of town to this restaurant and we did not regret it. The restaurant is a family business. You are welcomed by the owners who take great care of you throughout your meal with suggestions about wine pairings and anything you might need. Most ingredients are sourced locally, if they don't come directly from their estate - like the wine and the grappa. The owner's son is in the kitchen. The menu provides a selection of courses (appetizers, primi, secondi and dessert) and offers as well a pre-fixed menu. Everything is cooked to order and masterfully plated. I would also add that the value is outstanding, compared to what you would find downtown Brixen and in relation to the quality of the food. The environment is elegant and the restaurant overlooks the valley, providing a dining experience with a stunning view.

17/12/2025: Bar/Bistro a few steps from Novacella Abbey. Not knowing where to go after visiting the abbey, I stopped for lunch. I chose this place at random, just to grab a bite to eat. Cute place, friendly owner. I ordered a couple of cold dishes and a dessert. Average prices for the area (not cheap). Positive experience.

26/12/2025: The food was mediocre – it had the feel of a large-scale kitchen; everything was prepared quickly, but unfortunately not fresh. The ambiance was old-fashioned, especially in the section where we sat. The staff tried their best, but the bread was stale, and yet we paid almost €12 for a basket for six people. A very disappointing experience during our South Tyrol vacation. What a shame. There are so many wonderful places here.

05/10/2025: A venerable, small hotel. Family-run, very loving and friendly. Upscale, excellent cuisine. The rooms are a bit older, but definitely have charm and are very clean. The pool and wellness area are new and modern.
