02/09/2025: We went there at the end of our stay in the region, and we received a warm and friendly welcome (I only speak a few words of Italian, and no better in English).
And I must say that we regretted not having gone there sooner, because that would have allowed us to return. The ravioli with ragu as a starter and the sliced beef with Parmesan on top were a real treat. And the wine, even in a bottle, was pleasant to drink.
If we're in the area again, I'll definitely go back.

13/05/2025: Vengo aquí una vez cada 10 semanas aproximadamente, ya que estoy en la zona por trabajo y siempre tengo una noche libre para mí, es solo un corto paseo de mi hotel. La señora que siempre me atiende y dirige el lugar no habla mucho inglés y para mi vergüenza, a pesar de trabajar para una empresa italiana durante muchos años, mi italiano es bastante pobre también! Espero que ella lea esta reseña (a través de Google Translate ofc).
La pizza es excelente aquí, es mucho mejor que cualquier cosa que obtenemos en el Reino Unido, los ingredientes y el sabor son maravillosos junto con las bases de corteza fina crujiente. Siempre tengo la bruschetta también, los tomates locales encantadores son para morir y podría sentarme y comerlo toda la noche!
Y si mi amigo se pregunta por qué siempre dejo demasiado dinero, simplemente porque la comida y la bienvenida siempre valen más de lo que cobras.

15/07/2025: We only had dinner, but we weren't sure if it was open because the hours on Google were wrong. The food was very good, the service was quick and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was very homey.
04/05/2025: We found this farm by chance and it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was delicious, even vegan and prepared with attention to detail. The place is wonderful, it enjoys a view of the splendid valley and is well organised. The staff was welcoming, punctual and kind. Direct sale of their products and animals. If I were close, I would go there often!

24/07/2025: 3 good meals , 1 poor tasting meal, we sent back and was replaced, service staff seemed uninterested and distant, when we got bill we were charged for both - restaurant owner shouted at us when we questioned, claiming we were wrong and he’s been doing it for years - clearly not customer service - we won’t be back, we have been to some fab places elsewhere in Lucca that’s where we are going next

22/04/2025: Ieri sera intorno alle 22 mia moglie ed io, ci siamo chiusi alle spalle per l' ultima volta la porta del ristorante "al Laghetto", infatti da oggi l' attività chiude dopo oltre 50 anni.
Un' esperienza iniziata da Bruno e Vera, oggi in meritato riposo e, continuato nel tempo dai figli Gianni, Marco e Ranieri. Il laghetto è un'istituzione della Mediavalle e della Garfagnana che attira clienti da tutta la regione e molti turisti stranieri. Immerso nella lussureggiante natura di castagni, da una parte, e dall' altra da un laghetto artificiale tra i monti è un posto ideale per trascorrere una giornata di rilassamento e buona cucina, una cucina che rispecchia le antiche tradizioni garfagnine, il pane,bruschette, tordelli, polenta, farro, grigliate, baccalà, patate sotto la cenere, funghi, pasimata sono i piatti forti del menù che si conclude con la mitica " BOMBA " un ponce che viene servito accompagnato dalla musica regalando momenti di gioia e spensieratezza. La tovaglia di carta gialla, i taglieri in legno sui possenti tavoli in legno donano semplicità e familiarità il sentirsi a casa. Un forno a due bocche sprigiona una calda fiamma pronta a cuocere, Bruno e Ranieri prima, Ranieri e Gianni oggi sono destinati alla cottura e Marco al servizio ai tavoli con gentilezza e disponibilità. Mia moglie ed io abbiamo scoperto il Laghetto da 40 anni e ne siamo stati sempre clienti instaurando con i proprietari un rapporto che va al di là di quello titolare/cliente esci avvicina molto a quello di amicizia. Per questo vogliamo racchiudere in una sola parola il tutto: GRAZIE......
16/03/2025: A pranzo, tavolo per 14 persone (tra cui 4 bimbe di 10anni). Bruschette molto unte trovate già al tavolo così come il vino e gli affettati senza essere stati ordinati. Ah forse perché non esiste un menù!! Porta tordelli e lasagne(unici primi esistenti), sotto suo consiglio per 10 persone. Portate tanto misere che ci tocca riordinare altri tordelli. Unico secondo Carne alla brace secchissima (perché già pronta chissà da quanto e riscaldata al momento), quantità misera anche quella. Unico dolce da far caxaxe un plumcake con uvetta, secco ma secco che se non stai attento ti ci soffochi. Prezzo???? 35€ a persona!!! Ma scherziamo!? Esperienza da dimenticare
