21/02/2026: We stumbled upon this place by chance. The people were very welcoming, the rooms were immaculately kept, clean, and very warm. We'll definitely be back. It's a shame we didn't try their cuisine, which, given everything else, would have been excellent.
17/01/2026: There can only be wonderful words for this place, which is truly perfect in every way. I stayed and dined here two consecutive nights, sampling various dishes.
The rooms are clean, cool, and quiet.
The restaurant is truly delicious; you can view the menu directly on the website. I've included a few photos to give you an idea.
The staff is very professional and courteous; I would return not once, but a thousand times. Thank you to all the staff!

11/12/2025: Lunch with local friends at the foot of the beautiful village of Barga, about 1 km from the train station. All the dishes we were served were plentiful and of good quality. The menu wasn't particularly extensive, but I think over-the-top options only serve to overwhelm customers. Pasta allo scoglio was plentiful and full of seafood, cooked perfectly al dente. The mixed fried fish was plentiful and dry.

We also go often for lunch, and I have to say the food is really good, the portions are decent, and it's really cheap. The staff is attentive and friendly. I think it's excellent, and I always enjoy going there. Keep up the good work!

02/11/2025: The price isn't worth the service! We found it really expensive! You have to make your own bed; the room is adjacent to the shared bathroom, and that wouldn't have been a problem. We were aware of the problem; the bathroom had several drainage issues and various noises. After 6 in the morning, it was impossible to sleep. Honestly, the room was absolutely not worth the price we paid.
24/09/2025: Trassilico is a small village nestled in the mountains of Garfagnana, in the Serchio Valley, a hamlet of the Municipality of Gallicano.
You don't pass through Trassilico on your way from one place to another. You go through Trassilico. There's one road that leads to the village and the same one that takes you back down to the valley. Just 20 families live there year-round. It's a place for those who love the mountains, with their fogs and the sound of the wind that winds through the gorges and slopes. The area is rich in privately owned chestnut groves, black oak, larch, and mountain fir. The road to get there is winding and narrow; a moderate pace and careful driving are recommended, and it's helpful to "make yourself heard" before the bends. Crossing with other vehicles can be problematic. In some places, the road is narrowed due to construction work and landslide containment structures. From Gallicano to Trassilico, it takes a good 40-50 minutes by car. But it's worth it. The locals are hospitable and welcoming to those who show respect and politeness. Noise of any kind is welcome.

06/10/2025: The restaurant is good for its quality and service, with a very capable and helpful waitress. It's noisy due to the large number of relatives and the PATRON, who stands by the entrance until her eyelids drop. The hotel is a bit neglected, despite its new rooms; the bathroom faucets are so full of limescale that you risk contracting legionella, not to mention the very limited amount of water available. I'd give 4 stars for the restaurant and 3 (...) for the hotel, because despite everything, the rooms are semi-new and still quite clean.
PS: I booked through Booking.com with breakfast, which we're interested in, but when paying they said it wasn't included. Why? I don't like arguing, so I avoided it since it wasn't the case. I repeat, this is a restaurant worth trying, with friendly service and a waitress who is courteous, and good food.

22/04/2025: Ieri sera intorno alle 22 mia moglie ed io, ci siamo chiusi alle spalle per l' ultima volta la porta del ristorante "al Laghetto", infatti da oggi l' attività chiude dopo oltre 50 anni.
Un' esperienza iniziata da Bruno e Vera, oggi in meritato riposo e, continuato nel tempo dai figli Gianni, Marco e Ranieri. Il laghetto è un'istituzione della Mediavalle e della Garfagnana che attira clienti da tutta la regione e molti turisti stranieri. Immerso nella lussureggiante natura di castagni, da una parte, e dall' altra da un laghetto artificiale tra i monti è un posto ideale per trascorrere una giornata di rilassamento e buona cucina, una cucina che rispecchia le antiche tradizioni garfagnine, il pane,bruschette, tordelli, polenta, farro, grigliate, baccalà, patate sotto la cenere, funghi, pasimata sono i piatti forti del menù che si conclude con la mitica " BOMBA " un ponce che viene servito accompagnato dalla musica regalando momenti di gioia e spensieratezza. La tovaglia di carta gialla, i taglieri in legno sui possenti tavoli in legno donano semplicità e familiarità il sentirsi a casa. Un forno a due bocche sprigiona una calda fiamma pronta a cuocere, Bruno e Ranieri prima, Ranieri e Gianni oggi sono destinati alla cottura e Marco al servizio ai tavoli con gentilezza e disponibilità. Mia moglie ed io abbiamo scoperto il Laghetto da 40 anni e ne siamo stati sempre clienti instaurando con i proprietari un rapporto che va al di là di quello titolare/cliente esci avvicina molto a quello di amicizia. Per questo vogliamo racchiudere in una sola parola il tutto: GRAZIE......
16/03/2025: A pranzo, tavolo per 14 persone (tra cui 4 bimbe di 10anni). Bruschette molto unte trovate già al tavolo così come il vino e gli affettati senza essere stati ordinati. Ah forse perché non esiste un menù!! Porta tordelli e lasagne(unici primi esistenti), sotto suo consiglio per 10 persone. Portate tanto misere che ci tocca riordinare altri tordelli. Unico secondo Carne alla brace secchissima (perché già pronta chissà da quanto e riscaldata al momento), quantità misera anche quella. Unico dolce da far caxaxe un plumcake con uvetta, secco ma secco che se non stai attento ti ci soffochi. Prezzo???? 35€ a persona!!! Ma scherziamo!? Esperienza da dimenticare
