17/05/2026: this little local restaurant served the best tiramisu in my entire rome trip. everything was fresh, delicate, and perfectly balanced. i wish i had more time to try their sandwiches 🥹 the owner is so warm and kind as well

We had a red pizza just to have on the side because we wanted something to pick at, and then sarde pasta and a fritto misto, all of this for 2 people. We struggled to finish and we really regret not to, because it was all so good! We also got a limoncello at the end, for 2 soft drinks and some water and spent 50€!! Excellent value restaurant, such a hidden gem away from the main street and SO WORTH IT. 10/10 one of our favourite restaurants in this trip.

20/05/2026: Always a nice experience, the paella with cappuccinos. The place is a bit small and the tables are close together. The staff is professional and very courteous.

07/04/2026: This restaurant is very close to Lagopesole Castle. I spent Easter Monday there with a set menu. The food was excellent, the setting simple, but the staff really made the difference: helpful, friendly, and extremely kind. They were accommodating regarding food, allergies, and arrival times, as we as a group had to wait well past the permitted time. Excellent experience.

The Appertivo and particularly the dinner was excellent, well cooked and more creative in composition of the dishes other than the culinaric mainstream of this region, that we met often and which becomes boaring after a few days...

Both the interior and exterior spaces are meticulously maintained and very charming: outside, tables are set under centuries-old trees, creating a truly unique atmosphere, with a beautiful view that makes the experience even more special. The food is good, well-presented, and of high quality. The prices are a bit high, but the truly enchanting location and setting justify them. Another plus is the staff, who were kind, helpful, and attentive. Overall, a positive experience.

21/09/2025: We were there on Wednesday, September 17. I was struck by the owner's exceptional kindness. He was able to advise us on what to order, even though one person was allergic to shrimp and one was vegetarian. He brought us homemade nachos with an exceptional fondue, special potatoes, delicious paella, and skewers with tender chicken, pork, and veal, etc., all served with special creams and excellent sangria. A dessert like in the old days with banana in a caramelized and chocolate crust. All accompanied by laughter, conversation, and the kindness of the chef/owner. I've been away for years, but everything is still as good as it was years ago. I recommend it!

07/01/2026: I've only been there once, a few years ago, but the experience was truly memorable, and I wanted to leave a mark on it. From the moment we arrived, I immediately felt welcomed: the location is stunning, surrounded by nature near the Monticchio Lakes, and we had the opportunity to eat outdoors, with a relaxing atmosphere and truly enchanting views. The food was delicious, authentic, and well-prepared: typical Lucanian dishes prepared with fresh, genuine ingredients, which made the dinner enjoyable and memorable. The wine selection and the quality of the dishes also contributed to making everything perfect. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home, attentive to detail and ready to recommend the house specialties with a sincere smile. In short, even though I've only been there once, Restaino Restaurant left a truly positive memory, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Lucanian cuisine in a unique and evocative setting. I would return without hesitation. 🍝🌿✨

23/11/2025: Pleasant discovery, excellent food, we will definitely be back

02/11/2025: Stayed at a near by all inclusive hotel. Without getting transport to closest tourist places, Cefalu or Palmero, there is nothing outside of the hotel complex. 2 weeks ago there was a Ferrari car tribute event so had a walk out along the road to watch AND stumbled on this GREAT LITTLE CAFE. Having already eaten, Just stopped for a coffee (and beer🫣😂). Looks to be run by a family, with a great selection of authentic food and drink. Also very reasonably priced. A good break from an all inclusive hotel, experiencing more culture. Very polite and welcoming. English isn't great so like a game of sharards but that was the authenticity we liked of true Sicily 😃. Overheard others who had a meal saying how nice the food was. Even if it's only a walk out of the hotel and a drnykike us, support this great independent
