13/03/2025: The place is exactly the kind I love, welcoming, refined not mass, excellent food, and also the service. I would expand the dessert menu.
16/02/2025: Excellent choice 👍 we went for lunch, we enjoyed some real delicacies; various well-presented starters of excellent quality, first course: homemade macaroni in black pork sauce, second course: mixed grill, strictly black pork and baked garden potatoes, what can I say, all delicious. Cozy and clean rustic environment; the owner made us feel at home; friendly and helpful staff. The prices are adequate in relation to the quality. We will gladly return to the Badia a Ficarra, however it is a fascinating and elegant location, you can breathe sea and mountain air, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama. I recommend booking the Badia, it is appreciated by many👏

Villa Ginevra

17/04/2025: We did a little tour with four different hotels and resorts. From luxurious resorts to simple agruturismo accommodation, everything was there. Villa Ginevra is just a few minutes from Brolo and is easy to find. Beautifully located!! We received a personal and very warm welcome and were shown around. The Swiss owner couple are very lovely and friendly!! We were the only guests on the first night, on the second and third days we had company from a small German yoga group. The entire property is very well maintained and everything coordinates perfectly. The pool is beautifully located, but unfortunately it was too cold at that time of year and couldn't be used. In summer you can definitely enjoy your time by the pool there. Problems with the refrigerator and toilet flushing were resolved immediately. We booked early directly through the hotel website with an early bird discount offered with a non-cancellable room. We really liked the super double room with the extra bed for a third person on the upper floor. Unfortunately, it was only possible to specify two people when booking online because it was advertised as a double room, although it can accommodate three people. In the addition I stated that we were bringing our six-year-old son with us. After we checked in we were informed that there would be a separate charge of €70 per night for the child! That was more than the prorated adult rate in the room. We found this price too much for our child, but unfortunately we didn't respond to our request. What a shame! That spoiled the vacation a little because we had paid a lot of money for the three nights. You pay for the view and the atmosphere here. The breakfast on the second and third days was good, as additional food was offered due to the arrival of the yoga group, which had booked half board with brunch. However, on the first day the breakfast was a bit slimmed down as we were the only guests. However, we would have expected more for this room price. The room itself was fine, but a bit damp due to the climate. It is a separate building/small stone house. You have to ventilate a lot so that the moisture doesn't collect, but our clothes were a bit damp after the third day and smelled accordingly. A few little things in the room, such as a kettle, bottle of water or at least glasses, would have been desirable. No German TV channel available, no streaming possible. (It was only interesting for our child). Table football was again a nice highlight. The beautiful location and how well everything has been renovated are absolutely stunning, but everything is geared more towards groups and weddings. The restaurant will not be opened for individual guests in the evening. The area is very large, there are many olive trees and the food is homemade. The jams and bread in the morning were delicious and reflected a bit of the vaunted agroturismo charm. Overall, however, the price-performance ratio was not right in the previous season. When we asked the receptionist to discuss our concerns directly with the owner, we were more or less refused and we were asked to pay directly upon arrival. We found that a bit bold and would have liked to have been more accommodating here. We generally travel very frequently, so we can summarize this.

06/09/2024: Il posto è in un terrazzo molto bello e romantico, peccato che tutto viene rovinato dalla mancanza di un menù scritto che invece viene elencato oralmente dal cameriere senza poter vedere prezzi ed ingredienti. Ma GRAVE è che il pesce, sebbene fresco, è cucinato malissimo. In una semplice osteria si mangia sicuramente meglio. Se la prenotazione poi è fatta con uno sconto di bonus, che dovrebbe essere applicato automaticamente, non viene applicato e viene presentato il conto a prezzo pieno, salvo poi ad applicarlo dietro specifica richiesta del cliente.
28/08/2024: Posto elegante allo stesso tempo accogliente. Le polpette di pesce e gli spaghetti di acciuga pinoli e finocchietto ,mai mangiati così buoni 🤤 Ottima accoglienza anche da parte del personale di sala,soprattutto del cameriere simpaticissimo e gentile pronto a soddisfare con il sorriso ogni esigenza. Ottimo

10/03/2025: Siamo stati in questo locale molto carino e consigliato da diverse persone, ahimè siamo incappati nella domenica sbagliata ( vedi post festa della donna ). Cibo buono e di buona qualità ma la varietà degli antipasti e la quantità delle porzioni ha deluso molto. In questi locali si sa che si mangia bene e in quantità ma bisogna tenere sempre lo stesso standard. Questa domenica è stata sotto le aspettative…dagli antipasti ( 2 salumi, 2 formaggi, tante verdure ed una frittatina), ai primi ( 2 assaggini davvero piccoli anche se molto buoni ) per finire al “ dolce “ ( nessun dolce in programma ma solo un bicchierino da liquore di sorbetto). Dispiace recensire così ma bisogna tenere sempre lo stesso standard di ristorazione e cercare di lasciare sempre il cliente contento.
