27/11/2024: Excellent both for business lunches where customer care is higher than the average of adjacent venues. Always 3 choices of first courses and 2 second courses and always at least 1 plate of fish. There is also the focaccia appetizer which is always welcome and included in the price. In the evening à la carte menu and pizzeria (you can also request it for lunch). Wood-fired oven and dishes always well presented. Order and courtesy reign in the room. Highly recommended

07/08/2024: A very nice pizzeria and one of the best pizzas I've eaten in Italy :) the owner is great, because we don't speak Italian well, but we managed. Great place and I really do, and I rarely write reviews, I highly recommend it :) if I'm ever in the area, it's a must-visit

16/11/2024: The pizza is delicious but the drinks guy was rude and rude. While we were waiting for our friends to finish eating he told us to go to a bench instead of being on the phone when in reality I had just finished eating and he took the trays away from us with a haughty look. Even though they are young, they cannot behave in this way with us who have consumed. Furthermore, once we didn't need to have a drink and the boy told us that it was mandatory to sit down when in reality the Rusticanella and the Birreria are two different companies.

29/07/2024: The best pizza I have ever ate, we tried over the vacation 12 pizza and all very absolutely tasty. You can see that owners care about the place with passion, as pizza has high quality and fresh ingredients, combinations of them are creative and pizza dough is creme de la creme.

06/11/2024: Nothing. If this place wasn't where it is it would have closed long ago. Reservation in catering is sacred as well as education of the customer who makes it. A time is set and the table must be free at that time. Lack of professionalism also making excuses in previous customers who didn't turn up. If the table is reserved, previous customers are not taken into account. Between making excuses and apologizing for a disservice, in the middle, there is (and in this case there is not) only professionalism.

03/11/2024: not very serious, I'll start by saying that the same thing happened the year before, but we decided to give it another chance this year. we booked a month in advance for 16 people, at 9.30pm. when we arrive we see that there were two tables free for 9.30pm but our name was not there, we had to wait until 10.15pm for our table which was occupied to be freed up, they then got two courses wrong and for one course they arrived when we had almost finished eating, to say that an ingredient was missing, without bringing an alternative. anyway never again! not even a discount...

18/08/2024: I was born and raised in Viareggio, and as a child, living in the centre, on Sunday evenings my father always went to get pizza from "Rizzieri", next to the Municipality. It was the 90s and that pizza was, by far, the best in the whole city... Or better... There were two major factions: Those who liked fine, "Athos" in Passeggiata, while those who liked it a little higher, "Rizzieri" in common. As I grew up however, and occasionally returned to Rizzieri, I felt that something was changing... I wondered how it was possible that the pizza I had loved so much as a child, and which I couldn't wait to eat every Sunday, was starting to taste less good. Be careful, I'm not saying that she had become bad, on the contrary... But, how can I say... It was no longer the pizza I knew. I found it less digestible, and Cecina also seemed different to me. I blamed myself, I convinced myself that it was me who had changed and that perhaps I had different tastes, or that I had eaten way too much and had become bored. Over time I started to eat less and less, also thanks to the increase in pizzerias in the city and the variety of types and flavors that you could find on the market. I tried to take it again, every now and then, but unfortunately, there was no way... I no longer felt the same sensations. I had given up, thinking that now, even though I was a true pizza lover, I could no longer experience that true pleasure I had when I was little. Today, in 2022, I have already been living in Torre del Lago Puccini for a few years and only by chance did I stumble upon this pizzeria "da Simone". One evening I found myself needing to eat something in the Ex Airfield area and I ended up there, by chance. Obviously I took Pizza and Cecina. As soon as I took the first bite, there was something that didn't sit right with me... I almost got scared, because I immediately, and without understanding why, jumped back 30 years. Was that perhaps the best pizza in all of Viareggio that I remembered? I couldn't understand how it was possible that I was experiencing emotions of that kind, I didn't understand... Tasting the cecina then... Well guys, it brought tears to my eyes from how good it was... If for taste, pizza is also a matter of personal choice... cecina is a kind of axiom, a culinary creation where, either you do it really well, or there is always something that doesn't add up between taste, consistency, digestibility. Either it's fantastic, or it's not... And Simone's cecina is much better than "fantastic", it is INIMITABLE! Once dinner was finished, I went to pay and had confirmation of what my unconscious had already understood after the first bite, projecting me back in time. Simone, as well as the more experienced lady who works there, were the same people who worked at Rizzieri in the 90s. Then I imagine that the brothers split over the pizzeria in the center of the town, and that Simone opened at the Airfield... Today, in 2022, I will always be grateful for that late summer day when I stumbled upon this pizzeria by chance. Today I can finally go back to eating the best pizza in Viareggio, the pizza from when I was a child. Today there is one more opponent in the fight against training and diet... an enemy that I will never be able to truly defeat, and which actually motivates me to train even more, because I cannot go without eating THIS pizza and THIS chickpea. So I write this papyrus, which probably no one will read in full, not even Simone... I'm writing it to you anyway because I feel more comfortable writing rather than speaking... I'm writing to him to tell him: THANK YOU for still existing. THANK YOU for continuing to make pizza and cecina as you know how to do, without compromising. THANK YOU for giving me the certainty that, even if the day can go wrong, whatever happened, in the evening I know, that by ordering pizza from you, I can go back to being a child, and still be happy, grateful, and carefree, like when on Sunday evenings my father brought home pizza and we all ate it together... THANK YOU 🙏

25/11/2024: Abbiamo cenato in gruppo con amici e parenti. Tagliata di tonno di scarsa qualità, fredda e di quantità davvero ridicola. La pizza era passabile ma non come la descrive il proprietario che pecca di grande presunzione. Tempi di attesa lunghi e personale poco attento, poco sorridente, lento..... Quasi inadeguato. Personalmente non ci torneremo più

26/08/2024: Ambiente conosciuto atmosfera cordiale come sempre . Ottimo il primo piatto una porzione in 2 già divisa in cucina e abbondante. I secondi ,a parte l'attesa più lunga del solito, 2 filetti al tartufo sono risultati troppo appiattiti sul 'sughetto' di contorno mentre il sapore del tartufo seppur estivo era pressoché inesistente (piatto già preso in altre occasioni con miglior risultato). La carne di buona qualità ma l'aspettativa per il piatto era più alta.

25/10/2024: Marvelous ! But I tried the most delicious pasta NOT in Milan, Rome, Sardinia, Naples, or even on the Amalfi Coast. And here, at the resort of Viariggio. Maybe I was just unlucky. Always ! Always ! Ask the restaurant for a dish - a local specialty. Here I was lucky three times. Also the most delicious pizza. And the most delicious buyabes soup. Topchik! Best of the best!

12/11/2024: Ho deciso di festeggiare il mio compleanno in questa pizzeria in cui ero stata pochi mesi prima ed avevo trovato un locale accogliente e una pizza più che apprezzabile. Non so che aria tirasse la sera del mio compleanno, ma non era decisamente buona. Il mio ragazzo si è sentito dare la prima rispostaccia (senza motivo ovviamente) quando ha portato il dolce al proprietario (?) e da lì è stato un susseguirsi di risposte maleducate, ripeto, senza alcun motivo. Ne riporto alcune: ‘io vorrei una speck e mascarpone’, ‘NO, LO SPECK È FINITO, C’È SCRITTO NEL MENÙ’, NON L’HAI NEANCHE GUARDATO’. Io e i miei amici eravamo spiazzati, tanto che al momento del dolce sono andata io stessa a prenderlo, me lo sono portata al tavolo e ho acceso le candeline (cosa mai fatta in 25 anni di vita). Ho la grande fortuna di avere degli amici che riescono ad alleggerire ogni situazione, ma eravamo comunque molto infastiditi, ed è una macchia indesiderata su una giornata che doveva essere perfetta. Le pizze erano buone anche stavolta, ma a volte serve qualcosa di più.

12/10/2024: La pizza e’ buonissima ma non si puo’ aspettare quasi 1 ora per 2 pizze Vi consiglio di ordinare qualcosa per aspettare che chiaramente non debba essere cotto in forno😀
