08/06/2026: Aperitif and dinner immersed in a location where time stands still. A good selection of wines (I'd perhaps expand the selection, especially to Monferrato) and excellent pizza.
A truly incredible corner of Monferrato.

16/05/2026: Good food. But a forty-minute wait for a bad pizza, which is too long. The waitresses even looked at me in surprise when I said the pizza was wrong, as if it wasn't possible they'd made a normal mistake.
11/05/2026: We had a delicious meal! The craft beer is very good and light. I highly recommend it.

22/12/2025: It was very noisy; you had to shout to talk. The pizza tasted like a piadina, and the mozzarella was plastic-like in texture. Service was very slow. First and last time!
14/12/2025: The pizza with friarielli and sausage was very good. However I got the burrata pizza which was okay, but didn’t have much flavor. I also got the gnocchi 4 formaggi which also didn’t really taste like much. Service was quick though. Servers could be have looked a little happier.

01/06/2026: I'm giving one star because zero isn't an option. I've been a customer for years now, but in recent years both quality and service have declined, not to mention the insane prices that aren't worth the quality.
Dry pizzas (they don't even reheat them), dry and inedible desserts, and a rude sales assistant just because I had to think about what to buy. The place is dirty and full of insects that crawl on the food intended for sale. Highly not recommended.
31/05/2026: I almost always go at the end of my night shift at 5:20. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. Unfortunately, the crowds at that time are quite mixed...

03/12/2025: I went there for a birthday with my 4-year-old son.
It's perfect, there's a huge playground inside, definitely for kids and top notch.
You can also get pizza.
30/11/2025: I'm sorry, but a place where the pizza can't be customized, given the large number of people with intolerances/allergies or different diets (e.g., vegan/vegetarian), is unthinkable.
I was disappointed.

03/04/2026: I find it unacceptable that the owner would say, "These things happen" when a hair is found in the pizza and he wanted to charge full price. Never again.

01/02/2026: It's a historic restaurant in Asti, but it hasn't evolved at all. The quality has significantly declined, and the space is really cramped, to the point of being, in my opinion, even dangerous in the event of an accident. The pizza, if you like it thin, isn't bad, although I find it a bit bland. The service is fast and the price is fair. Acceptable, but not worth returning to.
30/11/2025: The place is small with tables close together, they work two evening shifts, an old-school pizzeria, crispy thin pizzas without a crust cooked in a wood-fired oven, good and light, after one you'll want to eat another, fried calamari portions are not large and not the best in taste, desserts are store-bought profiteroles, panna cotta (hard) with store-bought sauces, chocolate cake with a soft center not exceptional. The white wine in a carafe is good, the red beer is good, and the prices are also good. I recommend it for eating pizza.

24/05/2026: We had lunch today at Antico Castello di Moncalvo, and honestly, after reading some of the reviews, we were a little hesitant... but we had a great time!
We ate well, everything was delicious, and the place truly deserves it.
Reading some of the reviews, it almost seems like people are expecting a Michelin-starred restaurant... come on 😅
I've read complaints about some dishes arriving quickly, like the risotto. But it's normal for many restaurants to have the rice partially prepared ahead of time to accommodate the service; that doesn't mean it's bad or poorly made.
We had a great lunch, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Based on our experience, we highly recommend it 😊

09/11/2025: It's still potentially the best Neapolitan pizza in Asti and the surrounding province, but the place is small and cold in winter. Our last dinner, the pizza was very good; I would have ordered a second one, "warmed" only by an outdoor gas oven, but we left after finishing the first one.
I hope things improve; I've enjoyed the pizza here for many years.
Update: Nov 25: Improved atmosphere and the pizza is still top-notch.

14/04/2026: A pleasant surprise, the quality is evident even from the sparkling water, which is truly sparkling!
Small but welcoming and warm.
Friendly staff
Good, very light pizzas.
Prices are a bit above average, especially considering the location and lack of parking.
I'm not giving you a 5-star rating because:
- the tablecloth was too small for the table, €2 for the cover charge (we ate with half a plate outside, and the table underneath was a bit sticky).
- the tomato sauce was just a pulp thrown on top, for my taste; I found it a bit acidic, but that's just a matter of taste and not everyone is the same.
We'll definitely be back, and I'm sure we'll change our minds. Take this as an incentive, not a reproach.

We went for my wife's birthday.
Good food and kind, attentive service.
Also suitable for those who like spending time with their four-legged friend.
The food is decent, with a few special touches.
I consider myself a good eater, but I think they could do better.
