06/01/2025: Been passing through, the place is beautiful, 1 rude waiter (the others were not), the menu is not available in paper form even on request

06/01/2025: I've updated my review to give a more accurate description, so customers know what they're getting into. My vote goes to the lack of efficiency in the service. We were a group of 12 people, we arrived at 12.30/45 and while waiting for everyone to arrive we drank a glass of prosecco in the atrium of the restaurant (the so-called aperitif). At 1pm we were seated and at 1.18pm we ordered. The order was for 3 starters, 12 first courses and 4 second courses with side dishes (nothing so impossible to serve in normal times)... of these dishes only 3 dishes were gluten free and the remaining all as per the menu. Among the various courses, 6 orders were based on grilled eel, which as per the restaurant's request, I had anticipated the desired quantity by telephone the days before given that cooking takes a long time and who wants the eel must know in advance . After ordering we waited an infinite time (1h) to have 3 appetizers Another 30/40 minutes passed from the 3 starters to the first courses; the 3 seconds didn't arrive until 3.30pm. Those who had ordered the eel among the first courses had also requested baked potatoes as a side dish, which unfortunately only arrived with the second courses, so by now they had already finished eating the eel. Once all the dishes were finished we asked for dessert and coffee, which we only managed to finish by 4.30pm, not so much because of the chatter, but from the order to the arrival of the coffee, they went several minutes. When we complained both at the table and at the cash desk about the very long waiting times for lunch (more than 3 hours, considering from when we sat down to when we got up) we were told that unfortunately there had been a a bit of confusion (the room wasn't too crowded and what's more, if you have such a capacity, you have to be prepared to serve the entire room). Given their lack of service and a bill of €534, we would have expected a small recognition from them to avoid the endless waiting, as usually happens in other restaurants (e.g. offering a bitter, not necessarily a discount), but unfortunately we did not receive it. The food is good, but we were really disappointed with this experience. Even greater was the disappointment in seeing a truly rude response from the owners, in which he highlighted that the problem of such long waiting times did not exist, because they were just moments of waiting in which to chat with friends , seeing their cozy restaurant and also it's our fault because we ordered too many different things and 3 gluten-free dishes. I probably won't return.

25/11/2024: Locale ideale per una pausa pranzo a due passi dalla spiaggia. Personale gentile e simpatico. Cibo ottimo, dalla pizza ai piatti di pesce, anche la frittura era buonissima. Molto buono anche il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Lo consiglio.

08/12/2024: About two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of having lunch at the "La Bussola" restaurant in Ostia together with a dear friend who I hadn't seen for 11 years. The choice could not have been better: the location, overlooking the sea, is simply enchanting, perfect for enjoying a special evening. The owner, Dario, is a charismatic figure who manages to transform the meal into an engaging and fun experience. The atmosphere you breathe is unique, warm and welcoming, an ideal mix between relaxation and entertainment. From a culinary point of view, "La Bussola" stands out for the high quality of its dishes. We started with a starter of the day, fresh and well prepared, and then continued with a scampi cream risotto which was simply sensational: creamy, tasty and prepared with great attention to detail. The staff is another strong point of the place: kind, prepared and always available, with a quick service that leaves nothing to chance. Finally, the quality-price ratio is absolutely balanced, considering both the level of the cuisine and the beauty of the context. I can't wait to go back, perhaps this time with my boyfriend, to relive an equally memorable experience. I highly recommend "La Bussola" to anyone looking for a place where good food goes perfectly with a pleasant and engaging atmosphere.

30/12/2024: Availability, courtesy and good pizzas! The half price at midday is fantastic though... the price of beers, coffee, desserts and cover charge is a bit generous!!! So evaluate whether it is worth it or not, in the end you pay the same

04/01/2025: Situato proprio tra Lido degli Estensi e Lido di Spina, un bel ristorante , con tavoli spaziosi e molto ben tenuto; anche è il bagno davvero pulito. Menù che predilige il pesce, ma lascia una bella scelta anche agli amanti della carne. Abbiamo preso un buon fritto di calamari e gamberi: bianco e non unto. Ragazze al tavolo cordiali e disponibili. Conto il linea con i prezzi attuali. Complimenti.

16/09/2024: Frequento il ristorante da anni e non mi ha mai deluso. Anche in questa occasione il pesce è stato di ottima qualità così pure il rapporto qualità /prezzo
