03/12/2024: Trattoria Losanna, perfection at an affordable price. After several attempts to book, we finally managed to get rid of the desire to try this place on a Saturday evening. A very clean and well-kept environment welcomes you with a vintage slicer and a vast display of wines, some very fine and some less so. The service is taken care of down to the smallest detail by trained, kind and very professional staff who take care of the tables with the utmost attention and without having to ask they will bring you the bread once finished and also some excellent focaccia. The wine list is very well stocked, also offering important wines. The à la carte menu included trifola (truffle) for the more gourmet at a fairly high price, but as we know, trifola is in short supply this year. Between first and second starters there are various choices all with first choice raw materials and refined in their simplicity. Personally, I had a great time, my stomach came out satisfied, the only flaw of the evening was the chair was too uncomfortable, too small for my bottom, otherwise everything was ok, I will definitely go back and I highly recommend it to everyone
26/11/2024: An excellent trattoria in the most typical Piedmontese tradition with local dishes prepared and prepared very well. From the typical appetizers of lower Piedmont, through the agnolotti, to the full-bodied braised meats, the truly excellent tongue and rabbit. Very high quality wine, Barbera d'Asti and Nebbiolo in particular. I recommend it for a nice Piedmontese meal as God commands. Have a nice picnic.

A large real pine tree with single-color balls.

Combined with the napkin which is beautiful in fabric, you can get a beautiful and Christmassy paper one.

11/11/2024: The "Nuova Casa del Popolo" in Opatija (AL) is a place full of charm and history. This structure, built in the early 1900s, has a unique octagonal architecture and houses a wood-fired oven which was originally used to bake the town's bread, now used for the preparation of pizzas. The historic atmosphere of the place is truly spectacular and is worth a visit for the beauty of the building.
Unfortunately, the catering does not live up to the location. The restaurant offers three menus: one based on mushrooms and one traditional from the area, both at 35 euros, and one based on fish at 45 euros. I chose the traditional menu, which included Fassona steak as a starter, agnolotti with stew as a first course, and ossobuco as the main course.
Already from the appetizer, however, some defects emerged. The joke was accompanied by slices of Grana Padano cut coarsely and with hard parts near the rind, making it tasteless. Furthermore, the meat was undercooked, and the oil provided to season it had too strong a flavor that did not go well with the dish. The first course, the agnolotti, presented a more serious problem: in the sauce I found a fragment of plastic, the size of a 5 cent coin. Furthermore, the agnolotti were very hot on the inside and cold on the outside, probably reheated in the microwave. Despite the apologies of the waitress (very kind and very professional and above all very polite and formal virtues which are now rare), there was no gesture from the kitchen manager, which would have made the apology more sincere and personal. Fortunately, the osso buco turned out to be tasty and well prepared.
The total bill was 90 euros for two 35 euro menus, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, a coffee and a limoncello. In summary, despite the charming setting and history that characterizes this place, my overall experience was disappointing, and I probably won't return.
