28/04/2026: Family lunch with veal with tuna sauce, Piedmontese-style agnolotti, and bunet. Everything was excellent, especially the mixed fried fish. The view was beautiful. We spent €40 each.
31/03/2026: A historic local restaurant. It maintains its traditional Piedmontese character with a typical menu, good quality food at a moderate price. Very good service, generous portions.

27/04/2026: Sensational. From the location to the guided tour with the competent Elisabeta, and the wine and cheese tasting, it was all fantastic. The shop has wines ranging from 6 to 100 euros. I recommend Il Ruvo (10 euros) or Gavius ​​(9.50 euros). Explore the gardens and go to the labyrinth. It's totally worth it. It's included in the package.

28/02/2026: Chef Alessandro Zanotto's family history is a manifesto of Monferrato. Today, his 23-year-old grandson has already designed the winery you're visiting, and he cooks with the energy and cultural clarity of his home, having gained significant experience at the Mudec in Milan, one of Italy's international cultural centers. Lower Monferrato. Varengo, a hamlet of Gabiano. Hillside. A rare example of "family style and culture" that knows how to create refined cuisine. Perfect portions. A small wine cellar, but a place for meditation and a delight for the senses. The restaurant is by reservation only—or rather, "reservation"—and offers a highly personalized menu based on guest requests. The menu changes every three months. Refined local ingredients are used, including meat. Whipped maple butter, homemade bread, pretzels, spreadable gorgonzola, and the boiled meats with green sauce in a Chinese ravioli set us on a path to dinner. Innovative appetizers, and the first course, a beetroot and gorgonzola risotto, with rare flavor and balance. The second course's tender and flavorful diaphragm cooked on a silken potato. A genuine, artisanal, unfiltered Grignolino. A Catalan cream with a surprising flavor and color.

03/05/2026: Truly a very, very beautiful and typical place... The typical local food is really well cooked... A motorcycle ride with a very nice break. You feel welcomed and cared for like a real person... family-run, people who do it professionally and know the restaurant business...

The food was excellent, the freshest ingredients were carefully prepared, and the presentation was meticulously crafted, delighting all our guests. A special thank you for their professionalism and willingness to accommodate our needs, always available until the last minute. Highly recommended, you'll be sure to find a solution with them!

01/02/2026: This is a pub-style establishment located in the Piagera di Gabiano valley. I'd say the food is good quality, and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. For a quiet evening with kids and friends, this is definitely the place. I'll definitely be back.

28/10/2025: This is where the restaurant is rated, and it gets an excellent rating. Finally, here too, the history of family cooking is rediscovered. But there's also a focus on new dishes, with a distinctive touch of culinary skill that many trendy restaurants in metropolitan areas forget. The wines (red in the case of our lunch) selected by the restaurateur were all completely satisfying in terms of taste. The need to also cater to vegetarian/vegan guests led to the discovery of delicious flavors, with dishes that, just by looking at them, inspired everyone to try them. And it was all delicious. Ideal for small tables, but for larger groups, it leaves even more room for fun. At very fair prices. Amazing! We'll always return!

03/05/2025: In questo paesino a rilassarsi per un paio di giorni, immersi nelle colline del Monferrato a ridosso del Po. Imponente il castello Gabiano, (abbiamo avuto modo di visitarlo ed acquistare una bottiglia di grignolino ed altro…) adiacente al piazzale del Comune, attigua gli uffici PT vi è il ristorante bar la Chance. Qui, hai una panoramica unica, spazi sul paesaggio collinare di un verde e filari di vigneti. Alessandro, chef pugliese, titolare del locale abbiamo avuto modo di spiazzare nelle sue proposte di menù di pesce e cucina piemontese, proveniente dalla vicina Torino. Piacevole fare colazione, niente rumore, tranquillità assoluta.
