25/01/2026: "A perfect place to escape the rain." This is what I thought when a few days ago, on a gloomy day, I entered Franz's with my wife, my son, and our respective parents.
The consistently warm welcome from the dining room staff is something that puts you at ease; we've been to many restaurants, and that's not a given.
Then, even the first bite of what you taste is enough to "forget about the rain" and smile.
I don't have photos to show in this review, because photographing the dishes is depriving yourself of the experience; those dishes that are prepared with care, served with grace, and enjoyed with gratitude.
It wasn't the first time we've been to Franz's; in fact, we're now regulars at this wonderful place.
Why leave a review now, you might ask? Well, because every time feels like the first, yet it's better than the last. So I couldn't help but write this thought.
Do yourself a favor: go to Franz's!
I borrow a few words from Cesare Pavese: "A town means not being alone, knowing that in the people, in the plants, in the land there is something of yours, that even when you're not there, it remains waiting for you."
That town is Formigliana. And it is so because Franz is there.
06/01/2026: For those who want to enjoy divine fish, there's a choice of top-quality raw and cooked fish.
The staff is attentive to every diner's need, and the owner is extremely knowledgeable in recommending dishes and wine pairings.
If one or more of your guests want meat, just let them know a few days in advance and the owner will make sure it's catered to!
What can I say? Truly exceptional!
The prices are in line with high expectations, not at all excessive.
Compliments to the entire staff!

06/03/2026: I've known him for years, he's amazing, exceptional pizzas and their Montanarina is super.
02/03/2026: We were greeted and immediately seated at our table. A few minutes later, the waiter showed up and explained the evening's specials. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and smiling.
The food was delicious. We had two pizzas, and I have to say it was the best I've ever eaten. The price was as advertised, €20-30 per person, but for the quality, it was excellent. I recommend this restaurant.

20/01/2026: Very simple but charming, and everyone is super friendly. Ideal for a work lunch, even at a reasonable fixed price. There's a wide selection, including very good pizzas.
05/01/2026: It was my first time there, and I only had the fried calamari, which was beautifully fried and soft—it felt like being at the beach. The dessert was also excellent. The portions were generous, enough to satisfy your cravings. The pizzas that were passing by also looked great. We'll definitely be back.

25/02/2026: Il Pescatore 3 in Vercelli is a no-frills establishment that positions itself as a perfect cross between a restaurant and a pizzeria. The pizzas are good and the service is generally decent, although it must be admitted that the kitchen can sometimes be a bit slow, so it's best not to rush your meal.
The restaurant's real strength, however, is the portions: they're generous, and everything is offered at a decidedly low and fair price. The pizza menu is very convenient, usually including a soft drink and coffee, allowing you to eat a lot without breaking the bank.
The restaurant itself isn't very large, which creates a cozy atmosphere, and it's conveniently located because it's easily accessible from the city center. If you're looking for a place where substance matters more than appearance and want to leave the table satisfied without emptying your wallet, this is definitely a good option.

19/02/2026: Hotel where you sleep well and eat well I slept well without noise everyone welcoming and the owner is a very kind and helpful person for everything I would return a thousand more times, the price is right for what the hotel offers congratulations thank you for everything.

26/02/2026: Terrible! Never again! I decided to try this place with some colleagues, ordering tortellini with ragù and tonnarelli cacio e pepe (cacio e pepe), both of which I've attached a photo of. The pasta was clearly not fresh, the sauce was too dry for the tonnarelli, and the ragù was full of parmesan cheese without even asking. All the dishes were peppery enough to make you sick. One dish arrived after everyone else had already finished, the house red wine was diluted with water, and the kitchen smells were overwhelming, suggesting exhaust hoods were not working. The rest of the place is beyond reproach, it's been like this since 1948... as a true Italian, I wouldn't go back, not even for free!

Nuovo Ristorante Pizzeria Capri

01/01/2026: I had lunch with my dear friend and colleague Mae, who occasionally visits me in Turin. She took me to this lovely pizzeria in the center, where I ate truly deliciously! I chose the daily menu, €13 excluding dessert. The portions were truly generous and plentiful. Five stars for the atmosphere: welcoming, tastefully and simply decorated for the holidays (I don't like too many frills and dust). Five stars also for the restrooms, which were clean and well-kept.
The typical Vercelli dessert: tartufata was excellent.
The staff was courteous and hospitable.
19/12/2025: The pizza place is pretty empty, the desserts definitely aren't, the waiters are very polite, kind, and good! Unfortunately, the owner treats them badly, she's disrespectful, and this really upset me because I felt bad for the waiters... Pizzeria rejected because of the owner's meanness towards the waiters, a real arrogant harpy!
