01/07/2024: On jun 24 margherita pizza with mozzarella di bufala was very very very good. And also home made desserts and a 0.5 lt Weiss beer were noticeable. All came at reasonable price of 33 euros for 2 people. The waitresses were very kind and efficient but service (for pizzas) was slow. Place is a little bit outdated. Some children played around the tables, but being outside make their chaos happy and... "quiet".

17/08/2024: Beyond the very tavern atmosphere, the quality of the fish is appreciable.
What really doesn't go down well is the negligible quantity of the portions to say the least: both for the risotto and for the frying they were absolutely not worth the price.

15/01/2024: We ate together with a friend of mine, everything was very good from the bruschetta to the pizza which I usually can't digest but I digested it very well and it was really good... The staff was also very helpful and quick... We will definitely be back

27/08/2024: In fact we couldn't order what we wanted, several starters were missing and he insistently offered us only the house starter. Having booked the day before we asked about the availability of gluten-free foods and we received a positive response, another surprise, when ordering, the owner, Gianfranco, informed us that the gluten-free first courses on Saturdays are not prepared, therefore either the risotto or opt for second courses. Thanks only to a very kind waiter we managed to have two portions of red snapper which were not available before 🤔. I thank the staff for their professionalism.
25/08/2024: It is one of the restaurants that I consider the best in Formia, you always eat very well here

24/08/2024: Servizio lento, scarso, abbiamo ordinato prima antipasto e poi il primo, sono arrivati con netto ritardo e tutto insieme, bibite non consegnate, e cibo di bassa qualità, cozze immangiabili.
Da non tornare mai più.

20/08/2024: We had dinner under the trees in a citrus garden together with our three boys, finding kindness and courtesy but above all quality.

18/08/2024: As soon as we arrived, the owner approached us and asked us what we wanted to eat: we replied that we would have ordered a starter and a second course; he tells us "then I'll bring you a starter and for the second course I have a nice sea bream caught today". We accept the proposal. Result: total of 200 euros for two (100 euros for starter and 90 euros for sea bream). Absurd experience began to arrive various portions of appetizer but all tiny: 4 marinated anchovies he charged 17 euros, the mussels were ALL empty and also around 17-18 euros, 4 meatballs 17 euros. On the other hand, the waiters were very kind. The price was absolutely out of the market, perhaps they had to compensate for the evening given that there were only 4 seated tables?
Among other things, there is another Chinappi in Formia, Michele Chinappi, which is where we wanted to go and which had been recommended to us, but unfortunately we made a mistake in booking.
Edit (18/08): Mr. Stefano Chinappi, after the review, contacted me: he invited me and my girlfriend to his restaurant and apologized for what happened, expressing his willingness to remedy what happened. Yesterday (Saturday 17/08) he had the thought of writing to me again to invite me to go to dinner with him, but unfortunately I was no longer in the area. He then had the foresight to reimburse me for all the starters (100 euros).
Errors/mistakes can happen (similar events have happened to me other times), but this type of attention to the customer is certainly to be appreciated and, at least personally, no restaurateur has ever been so present after paying the bill and has ever shown this. kind of attention.
We will definitely return when we are in the area!

12/09/2023: Mobile d’epoca, tessuti pregiati. Formia a un paio di minuti dalla spiaggia, immerso in un lussureggiante parco ricco di alberi secolari e giardini fioriti e con vista sul Golfo di Gaeta. Lussuose camere in stile spagnolo e cucina tradizionale con piatti internazionali, ottima colazione. Il Castello Miramare risale al XV secolo è a pochi minuti da Piazza Sant’ Erasmo e altri incantevoli posti turistici. Meraviglioso!
