We were persuaded by the signs.
We had lunch, attracted by the daily menu: it featured first courses.
The food was pre-cooked and defrosted.
The bar service is certainly adequate. The small restaurant, however, is not.
Beautiful location. The dining room is in a cave, with a brick vault.

Sorbetto del Duca - Gelateria

10/11/2025: During my trip to Urbino, I had only one desire: to try this elusive walnut gelato that's been hyped so much by influencers on a popular social media site, and which appears to be offered by Sorbetto del Duca.
We found the shop open at 6:30 PM on Friday, and, unaware of what we would later sadly discover, we decided to wait until Saturday or Sunday to enjoy this delicacy.
Yet, on our way back to the square in Urbino, we realized that Sorbetto del Duca would never see a light on inside.
Google says "open until 11 PM," but it seems the owners were having a nap starting at 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM on Sunday. While hoping that nothing bad has happened to the sorbet makers, I find myself forced to judge this establishment as having, to say the least, peculiar opening hours.

Rude and rude owners,
They barely say hello, and then always look sullen.
I've come in several times for coffee, and every time it feels like you're trying to spite them.
Mostly the prices are off, and they often don't even issue the receipt.
I'm sorry, "but you're not cut out for working behind a bar counter."
If you ever change jobs!!
I don't recommend it.

06/08/2025: Locale in pieno centro, ha qualche posto all'interno ma all'esterno ha più tavoli.
La crescia è molto buona, ben farcita con ingredienti di qualità.
Prezzi nella norma.....proprietario gentile e scherzoso.
07/07/2025: Abbiamo scelto Il Buco per provare la famosa Crescia di urbino, personalmente preferisco la piada normale ma comunque gli ingredienti erano di qualità. Fa principalemente asporto anche se c'è qualche posto a sedere nella via fuori. Prezzi modici.

03/02/2025: Abbiamo provato questo locale perché in zona era tutto chiuso, con cane taglia media al seguito. Non saprei se fosse per via del cane ma è sembrata una corsa sia per mangiare e pagare che per la conversazione cliente-cameriere in sala, a differenza degli altri tavoli. La struttura sembra un museo dove ci hanno infilato centinaia di bottiglie di vino e distillati. Durante la nostra permanenza lo abbiamo trovato molto cupo e tetro. Abbiamo mangiato molto bene e vale la pena provarlo ma a mio parere penso che un minimo di dialogo con la clientela è d'obbligo. Se poi il problema era la presenza del cane bastava dire niente cani in sala. Il cibo era ottimo. Peccato per l'accoglienza freddissima. Ampi margini di miglioramento. Tre pallini su cinque non per i piatti.

02/06/2025: Prima di iniziare consiglio al titolare di inserire gli orari: Tripadvisor è il punto di riferimento anche per piattaforme Concorrenti, non è una bella idea abbandonare la piattaforma.
Abbiamo pranzato qui attirati dal menù proposto anche per chi preferisce vegetariano. Ordinato antipasti a base di pietanze del luogo si potrebbe rimanere delusi, dato il prezzo, dalla quantità , ma va considerata la qualità del prodotto offerto …. Primo di Ravioli e zuppa di farro con legumi da provare assolutamente anche perché cucinati al momento e mai precotti. Vino della casa da provare e tanti prodotti bio da poter acquistare e portare via con sé.
Verrete serviti direttamente dal titolare con velocità e gentilezza. Tornerò sicuramente da lui la prossima volta che sarò ad Urbino.
27/04/2025: Piccolo locale con posti a sedere sia dentro che fuori. Provati 3 primi molto buoni, anche il dolce consigliatoci. Il servizio un po' lento perché c'è solo una persona a servire

18/10/2023: Sosta pranzo. Esperienza molto positiva. Ambiente semplice. Personale disponibile e gentile. Qualità della "Grigliata mista" ottima Mozzarella alla brace stupenda. Patate novelle e pane buoni. Vino, limoncello, acqua, caffè. Il tutto in ambiente familiare. Prezzo fantastico. Torneremo appena possibile. Grazie.
