11/02/2025: É la seconda volta che ci torniamo e sicuramente l’inizio di una lunga serie. L’esperienza è sempre eccellente, dai piatti al servizio, all’ambiente accogliente, elegante e particolare per la presenza della Cava. Un luogo che ci regala una dimensione unica, fuori dal caos milanese e facilmente raggiungibile. Altamente consigliato!

01/02/2025: Google, why can't you give more than 5 stars???? I must say that I traveled a few miles to go and eat there, but it was worth it. It feels like being with family. Sergio is a perfect host who spends time with his guests not only explaining the dishes , but to talk to you about his life and ask you about yours. The dishes are exceptional. The bill is right, I assure you that you won't come back hungry. I will definitely return, because it is a place that deserves everything it has and That is getting .Congratulations again...

01/02/2025: Unique experience, place with attention to detail, clean. Sergio Barzetti is a great host, you can see all the passion and love he puts into his dishes, he is surrounded by a trained and kind staff! Highly recommended!!

17/01/2025: Sometimes we let ourselves be guided by the high-sounding names of famous chefs to savor particular dishes presented with pomp and refined elegance only to discover that the whole charade is a marketing communication that does not always correspond to the prices they charge. The caterpillar inn, discovered by chance, reminded me of the story of Cinderella. Sober, elegant in its simplicity, essential in the things that matter, but above all with all the merits that a good restaurant must have. In short, discovering that behind the simplicity lies a splendid Princess was a pleasant surprise. Francesco proved to be an excellent professional, courteous, discreet and always present at the right time. He described the different dishes to us so well that we seemed to savor their taste and smell their aroma. The appearance corresponded perfectly to the one described. Bravo!! My wife and I ate delicacies that satisfied all the senses of pleasure. Obviously the chef has his good merits. The environment is nice and cozy even if not particularly large. The cost is in line with the dishes and is around 20/30 Euros each. The restaurant is located in Malnate (Varese) and is clearly visible along Via Varese. One last piece of information, they also serve pizzas which, however, we didn't eat, so I can't give an opinion. I'll taste it next time.

02/02/2025: Embarrassing. I understand that managing a table of almost 20 people is complicated... but a restaurant should offer a service, if you are not able it is better to avoid accepting large numbers. Unfortunately I don't even know where to start with the criticism. The fish appetizer tasted exclusively of lemon. Pasta with prawns, reported "presence" of cream, was exclusively pasta and cream with 1 prawn and 3 cherry tomatoes. Salmon pasta identical to the one with prawns, plenty of cream rather than "presence" and overcooked. The only slightly positive note was the mixed fried food, requested with a side of potatoes... instead of bringing them with the second course, they brought them with the starter. We asked the waiter that the potatoes be taken away and brought with the second course.. answer: “eh but the side dishes never arrive together with the second course”. Now I understand that everyone manages as they prefer but at this point I would remove the page with the side dishes and include everything in the starters, because a side dish accompanies, not precedes. But the most shocking thing? the second course was seared tuna... from the menu marked as fresh. (A fresh, seared tuna should be firm, colorful and flavorful.) It was salmon pink, tasted absolutely of nothing, with a gelatinous consistency, that tuna eaten with eyes closed could easily be mistaken for canned meat. Terrifying stuff. Bill paid, obviously... but people go out to eat, pay for a service, pay for quality. For this quality I would have paid only for the coffee. Out of 20 people, the only three who took pizza left satisfied.

Materie prime eccellenti, tecniche scelte con cura, attenzione e innovazione, piatti curati sia nell accostamento degli ingredienti sia nella presentazione. Atmosfera accogliente, musica gradevole in sottofondo. Servizio impeccabile professionalità del personale. Proprietaria cortese e attenta alle esigenze degli ospiti. Ottimo.

01/11/2024: Ambiente ovattato e luminoso. Musica piacevole di sottofondo. Sembrava di essere in un albergo di lusso viziati all’ennesima potenza. Piatti ineccepibili ( come sempre ). La signora ti tratta con raffinata cordialità. Il marito in cucina penso con un numeroso staff sa Il fatto suo. Meriterebbe almeno una stella.

27/01/2025: I had already had the opportunity to taste their desserts and I found them very, very good. Yesterday while passing through those parts I stopped to get some pastries. I can only reconfirm my full satisfaction with the excellent quality. Furthermore, I want to underline the kindness of the staff and the care with which my desserts were packaged. Kindness, not only towards the regular customers, who were drinking the aperitif, but also towards me who was coming in for the first time. I will definitely be back......! Who knows, maybe even for a nice (and good) breakfast 🤩🥐. 27.01.25 I confirm what has been said by attributing excellence to this pastry shop! Fantastic owners and courtesy to the stars. 19/01/2025: Local in the center of Malnate. Very pleasant as a meeting point at any time for small sweet or savory snacks. We are regulars at aperitifs which we consider abundant and varied so that we can stay at the table for a good half hour, offering the opportunity for entertainment and/or well-deserved and pleasant relaxation in the middle or at the end of the day. The large room on the first floor is ideal for events of all kinds. Owner and staff are very courteous. The prices are more than correct. We always return with renewed pleasure.

12/08/2024: I happened to stop for ice cream... very small portion... I remember once getting a €4 cone to get something extra... but negative.. to my question "sorry, it doesn't look like a €4 cone to me" I was told IF YOU WANT TO WEIGH IT...!!! Furthermore, the unprofessional response... he didn't even give me the receipt...!!!
