07/06/2026: At the end of March 2026, my wife and I discovered this place thanks to a Smartbox we were given.
Initially, the few photos we saw while searching on the Smartbox website weren't very inspiring, but upon closer inspection, some reviews were quite good, others less so. However, considering that the area was completely new to us, we decided to check it out for ourselves and confidently asked to add a full day to the Smartbox.
Our first impression was truly positive, with a warm welcome from both the owner, Mr. Andrea, and the staff. Even our mixed-breed dog received a warm welcome.
The hotel is nestled in nature, just as we like it, quite remote from the town of Borno. The room was spacious, simple but with everything you need.
The dinner was excellent; not a huge selection, but more than adequate and generous, including a second helping for myself without any extra costs.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful but limited in choice, perhaps because of the time of year (late March), probably to avoid waste. If so, that's fine.
The locations, completely new to us, are very interesting, both historically—castles and historic sites—and the prehistoric areas of the Val Camoniche with its rock carvings, where the symbol of Lombardy, the Camunian Rose, originates. Also, the natural areas and landscapes offer walks immersed in the woods, even at interesting altitudes.
The hotel and location are highly recommended, from many points of view.

04/08/2026: A truly fantastic pizza. We're on vacation in Borno, friends came to visit, and this evening we ordered four pizzas. Perfectly cooked, to say the least. Very good ingredients. Just the right amount of crunch. Very light. Soft dough. Service? There's no service, they deliver it to the counter and you make do, even clearing the table. Everything is very homemade. Thank you, we won't forget you as soon as we're in the area again. We'll be back. Rating: 10

23/07/2026: The meal was very good and the service was quick. It was a very reasonable price for four people. If I were to return to Borno, it would be my first choice.
19/07/2026: We stopped after a strenuous mountain run. We wanted pizza for lunch, and they offered it. We were able to eat outside under the umbrella. The place was packed; I had called half an hour in advance to reserve a spot. They welcomed us with a smile, and I must say the staff were all friendly. The pizza was thin and topped with quality ingredients. We chose one with salmon (plenty of it) and a Norcina: delicious salami and flavorful porcini mushrooms. I regretted not taking photos of the pizzas.
Highly recommended.
I saw the dishes at other tables: generous portions. Deserves a 5-star rating.

02/08/2026: A good restaurant, unlike many others. We had pizza, horse steak, tagliolini with mushrooms and snails with pancetta, and braised venison—all very good. The cheese board was excellent. In my opinion, all the food was good. Worth a try.
31/07/2026: I tried this place today for lunch, thanks to a dear friend. I was greeted warmly and cheerfully. We had lunch on the lovely covered terrace, furnished with tables and benches handmade by Domenico, the owner. He's also an excellent chef. I tried the Ligurian-style rabbit, reinterpreted with a Camunian twist. Delicious! I highly recommend this place.

15/07/2026: Dinner. The waitress was incredibly incompetent at pouring wine... she managed to create a puddle of wine with every glass. Crostini with donkey liver pâté: good, although the liver flavor was a little too intense. I then chose a first course with zucchini flowers... 10 minutes after they took the crostini plates away, they came to tell me they didn't have zucchini flowers and offered me a very sad alternative... I opted for the eggplant risotto... which arrived too early and was too cold to be a freshly cooked dish... so they brought me reheated rice with eggplant cubes on top... no comment... I ate because I was hungry. Then polenta with gorgonzola... again a reheated dish 😡😡😡. I'm confident, hoping for dessert... I choose a cherry and vanilla dish... awful, vanilla nonexistent, cherries in cherry vinegar, as per the menu, but truly inedible. So, considering the amount spent, terrible value for money. I'm disappointed because the location is truly beautiful, but I absolutely DO NOT want to return.
12/07/2026: We spent a wonderful weekend with dinner and breakfast at this B&B, a perfect starting point for various hikes. The dinner was truly excellent: the staff managed to perfectly combine tradition with a touch of innovation. Excellent ingredients, homemade bread and breadsticks, and local beverages were also available. The room was basic but comfortable. The breakfast was excellent (brioche like in Paris!), and the homemade jams and cakes were much appreciated. We'll definitely be back! Well done!

12/08/2026: First of all, I always expect polenta in the mountains and maybe I do without the fish - rightly everyone has their own tastes - they should, as many do, publish the menu with the prices, even if the prices were good, so that the decision is based on the offer - the problem was that we asked for three dishes that were not available because the supplies had run out.... oh well! - and the dish that everyone liked... the fish

08/08/2026: We love the food at this restaurant, and when we're in Borno, we stop for the daily menu. The lady serving us is kind and the atmosphere is informal.
Last time, however, I was very disappointed:
You should be clearer (as all restaurants with a daily menu do), indicating the price and what the daily menu includes on a noticeboard outside and with a sheet of paper at the tables, whether you can choose a half-menu, and the costs because it's all unclear. Then you go to the cashier, and I think the owner, who isn't particularly cheerful or friendly, will tell you prices you wouldn't expect!
If a 9-year-old girl only orders one
dish, no wine, no coffee, because she's charged €15, the same as a full adult menu, which costs €16!!! I find it unattractive and not very family-friendly, and it leaves an unpleasant memory.
I think you should think about this aspect, perhaps offering a children's menu at a fair price, max €10.
