01/09/2024: We had a really great evening at the Braunwirt. The food was fabulous, all local products combined with new ideas for preparation! It was great outside on the terrace! Prices are absolutely justified. The only small drawback and certainly relevant for the winter is the interior, there is still potential in terms of a feel-good atmosphere, but it doesn't make our experience any less good!
29/08/2024: Even though I am not a qualified gastronomic expert, I can say that last night I ate very well, dishes that showed the skilful hand of the chef, kind and professional staff.

11/07/2024: Very good stay and recommendation as an E5 hut:
- Nice host with outstanding service
- Enjoy your meal
- quaint but very comfortable rooms/beds
- Rooms with bed linen instead of mattresses
- 2 clean showers and laundry room
- Sun terrace with views and loungers
E5: I found Meraner Hütte unsuitable because of the ski area and the noisy neighborhood. You continue walking for about 1 1/2 hours and about 400 meters downhill to the ski hut. Very nice path and mostly protected from the sun, but less view compared to the E5. The next day it takes 1 hour and 300m to get to the E5 (and then you also have the view) which then takes about 4 hours to get to the cable car to Bolzano. In total it takes about 30 minutes longer to walk, but you have good accommodation and a varied, shady path.
10/07/2024: A fabulous cabin at the foot of many easy-to-follow paths. I recommend doing the excursion and then returning to the cabin at lunchtime because Marcus will prepare some fabulous homemade dishes for you.

12/09/2024: Great hut and very tasty Kaiserschmarrn, very friendly host, very moderate prices!
Nice and easy hike to Seebalm and on the way back we walked around Lake Durnholz!

06/09/2024: Very beautifully located Alm that serves delicious, homemade food with friendly service. There is a nice playground for children.
A beautiful, easy-to-do hike leads from Durnholzer See to Seeb-Alm on relatively steep forest paths in just over an hour.

Pensione Ristorante Jaegerhof

26/08/2024: I recently visited Pension-Restaurant Jägerhof and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. The service was incredibly poor from the start, with the staff being inattentive and unfriendly. However, what was truly unacceptable was what happened towards the end of our visit.While I was at the cashier paying the bill, the waiter harassed my partner. This kind of behaviour is completely inappropriate and made us feel very uncomfortable. It's shocking that such an incident could occur in a place that's supposed to provide a pleasant and safe environment for its customers.
I cannot recommend this establishment, and I would advise others to be cautious when visiting.
We will certainly not be returning.
23/08/2024: La nostra esperienza è durata 15 minuti, tanto è bastato per scappare da questo posto!
quando siamo entrati, abbiamo detto di essere accompagnati da un cane.
Il gestore, con atteggiamento arrogante ed indisponente, ci ha risposto che il cane doveva stare sotto al tavolo e che non dovevamo dargli da mangiare per non creare disagi ai camerieri.
Ok, ci diciamo: siamo abituati a gestire il nostro cane da anni.
Ma non basta: ci viene detto che tutti i clienti dicono che hanno capito, ma poi i cani fanno quello che vogliono. Queste sono le regole del locale.
Veniamo fatti sedere nella sala interna, da soli: in terrazza ci sono già altri cani e noi creeremmo disagio.
CI sediamo e la cameriera che ci porta i menu’ ci guarda come due appestati.
Mentre guardiamo il menù’ (che riporta pietanze scritte in italiano incompressibile, ma vabbè) torna il gestore che ci sbraita che il cane non è’ esattamente sotto il tavolo: ce ne andiamo, non moriremo certo di fame.
In un ristorante, oltre al buon cibo, è giusto cercare anche un minimo di atmosfera o quantomeno civiltà. Se manca pure questa…resto a digiuno!

18/02/2024: We stopped here for lunch during our ski trip. Firstly it’s convenient to have a nice restaurant on top of the mountain once you have already taken the ski lift up anyway, secondly the views from the deck are excellent and thirdly they serve nice meals (including kids meals) at a good price.

12/08/2024: Ristorante ai bordi della troticoltura. Pizza di sera. Ambiente informale. Oasi di fresco a pochi km da Bolzano. Le trote si possono pescare e mangiare sul posto oppure si possono portare a casa per un'ottima grigliata.

Poi la proprietaria la signora Margaret è eccezionale, sempre disponibile.

03/03/2024: This is the go to pit stop for food at the bottom of the slopes at Reinswald. It is the closest sit down restaurant to the car park (btw there is also a small kiosk within the car park for snacks) , ski equipment rental shop and ski school. If you are a learner and not planning on riding the gondola to the top of the mountain then this is your best bet. The pizza is good and the staff are friendly.
