05/06/2025: Ho cenato con mio marito fidandomi delle recensioni lette. Le portate che abbiamo ordinato sono state di qualità dozzinale: polpo durissimo (lo abbiamo fatto anche presente al cameriere), calamaro ripieno pure, involtini di pesce spada che in realtà erano polpette di pangrattato insapore, caponata di pesce insignificante. Si è praticamente costretti a prendere la bottiglia di vino che decidono loro. Al dolce abbiamo preferito rinunciare. Personale imbronciato. Forse non gradiscono i turisti. Il peggio è che i prezzi sul menu non sono aggiornati e il conto alla cassa lievita! Consiglio a chi trascorre qualche giorno di vacanza sull'isola di trascorrere le serate nelle cantine vinicole dove si viene accolti con un sorriso e l'ambiente è piacevole.
05/06/2025: Buonissimo. Piatti spettacolari: buoni, gustosi, saporiti, ricchi e abbondanti. Personale gentile. Ci siamo tornati due volte. Abbiamo provato l’insalata pantesca, i paccheri con gambero e burrata, gli spaghetti al pesto pantesco, le bussiate al pesto, il calamaro ripieno alla pantesca. I dolci sono una garanzia per il palato. Il bacio pantesco e’ tra i piu buoni provati, ottima anche la cassata. Rapporto qualità prezzo in equilibrio. Da provare e soprattutto da gustare e godere. Belle serate garantite per la location e per il buon cibo.
Io e mio marito lo consigliamo.

For the rest, unfortunately, the dishes are of a low standard, in a common Sicilian cuisine you eat better.
We ate an appetizer, two first courses, a second course, a cannoli, a strawberry sorbet. None of these dishes were of a good standard.
Just enough starter. Spaghetti with pantesto pesto insufficient as it was tomato with a bit of oregano and capers. Just enough ravioli, neutral taste.
Insufficient grilled amberjack, small piece of amberjack taken from the fin side (full of bones) stringy.
Insufficient strawberry sorbet, very sweet, it felt like it was loose powder.
Insufficient cannolo, among the worst eaten in all of Sicily: particular ricotta taste and soft wafer.

13/06/2025: Spent two evenings in this restaurant, high quality food, authentic flavors that reflect the island, very kind staff, place overlooking a postcard sunset. You absolutely have to try the spaghetti with sea urchins, delicate and at the same time rich in the true flavor of the sea. Don't leave without trying the catch of the day in a salt crust, unforgettable. The sea bass with lemon emulsion and oil sauce has remained in my heart. Much better than many starred restaurants.

15/04/2025: I want to compliment the chef on how he prepared this risotto dish with tomato and sour cream. It was truly cooked to perfection, tasty al dente, practically gourmet. It amazed me and I really appreciated it! I recommend everyone to order from the menu, you will be amazed!

11/10/2024: Sono stata in questo splendido locale per un matrimonio. Location splendida, servizio eccellente. Unica pecca: il mio menù vegetariano. Pietanze belle solo nell'aspetto ma veramente scarse nel gusto. Ormai anche guardardo qualche reel su instgram è possibile trovare delle ricette gustose senza carne o pesce. Un peccato davvero. I dolci buonissimi e anche i menù di pesce e di carne sembravano ottimi (confermato anche dagli altri ospiti).
Consiglio sinceramente di arricchire la conoscenza di ricette vegetariane e vegane, capiscono che non è probabilmente il vostro target di riferimento ma un locale d'eccellenza come questo dovrebbe almeno avere delle alternative vegetali buone, non superlative ma buone.
Per il resto tutto super, davvero.

Without any complications...and they do everything possible to fulfill every desire. The customer feels pampered...and I repeat, caponata is absolutely a must try!!! And also the cod meatballs are very good.

22/04/2025: Il locale è molto carino, essendo ancora fresco e ventoso ci siamo accomodati all’interno , abbiamo gustato un ottima pizza , la Siciliana, buono l’impasto basso, con pomodoro, salsiccia, burrata, ragusano e una granella di pistacchio, la cottura al forno a legna perfetta, ottima la birra locale e poi per finire il fantastico Bacio accompagnato dal Passito Donnafugata, il servizio è veloce e attento. Conto finale, due pizze, due Baci una birra e due Passiti 73 euro ci stanno.

31/05/2025: Wir genossen ein grossartiges Dinner im romantisch abseits gelegenen Il Principe e Il Pirata. Allein das kleine Modellboot auf der Terrasse ist schon ein Eye Catcher. Ebenso die phantasievoll gestalteten kleinen Kacheln, die in die Esstische eingearbeitet sind. Die Pasta mit Thunfisch war in sich rund, wenngleich der Fisch ein wenig "trocken" daherkam. Noch trockener war das Schwein mit Tarte Tatin. So schade, dass die Italiener es nicht so mit Saucen haben, das Schwein hätte definitiv ein wenig Sauce vertragen können. Auch die Beilage - Karotte mit Ingwer - trocken wie die Sahara! Auch das Mangoeis als Dessert hätte ein wenig Sauce - sei es Erdbeer- Minze- oder Limetten-Sauce vertragen können. So wie das Mandeleis, das mit sehr gut passender Caramel-Sauce serviert wird.

10/06/2025: Abbiamo prenotato in questo rifugio per cena, leggendo le varie recensioni positive. Esperienza da non ripetere!! Location molto accogliente e ben curata, nulla da dire per il servizio al tavolo e per il menù. Delusione per la carta dei vini: la scelta, tra cantine del territorio, era limitata a poche bottiglie presenti, nonostante sulla carta ne figurassero varie. Dopo vari ‘non mi é stata consegnata’ la scelta era quindi obbligata, solo un paio le bottiglie presenti, e su consiglio del titolare, abbiamo preso una bottiglia di bianco zibibbo della cantina i giardini di Tanit di Pantelleria dal costo, indicato in menù, di euro 32,00. Finita la cena e chiesto il conto, pagato, controllo lo scontrino e il prezzo della bottiglia era magicamente lievitato ad euro 40,00. Chiesta spiegazione la risposta scocciata e maleducata è stata che i prezzi sulla carta non erano aggiornati.

23/08/2024: The place is very nice and in a beautiful place. Too bad it lacks everything that a bar like this should have. The only things they offer are coke, orange juice and coffee (not latte because they don't even have milk). The service is terrible, just think that there is no menu (as there is nothing to offer) and not even a glass of water was given next to the coffee. Furthermore, although it is almost completely empty, they are not even kind enough to let you sit in the shade after having eaten, but they insist on making you sit in the sunniest area. This didn't just happen to us, but to many who, after having rightly sat down and ordered, were forced to change tables. Lastly, the staff (particularly the lady at the cash desk) was very rude from the start, from the non-existent welcome to the payment. I add for information, although it is a frequent and understandable practice, that to use the bathroom, drinking is mandatory.
18/08/2024: Last night my partner and I had dinner here and for a couple of hours we were immersed in the beauty and in a timeless atmosphere; we ate very well (among other things, exceptional Genoese pasta and a very light fried cappuccitti) and we were pampered by Nicola and Paola with rare professionalism and kindness (even with our little dog).
A place that I highly recommend, also for the value for money, hoping at the same time that it does not become a mass tourism destination, which would ruin the atmosphere.

02/09/2024: Ristorante con un ambiente superbo, cucina poco interessante e servizio deplorevole. Una cameriera ha versato del vino addosso alla persona che era con me. Il direttore non solo non si è scusato ma ha voluto essere minaccioso quando abbiamo espresso la nostra insoddisfazione. Di gran lunga la peggiore esperienza su questa splendida isola
