03/10/2023: Ottimo aperitivo con stuzzichini. Gentilissimi i camerieri che hanno portato delle bruschette in più, il piatto preferito di una dei commensali. Bravi, continuate così. Onesto il conto.

12/08/2023: Piatti di pesce tipici delle Eolie...e la pasticceria mignon gelato..che squisita. Il personale sia al tavolo che alla cassa cortese e molto simpatico

19/07/2023: Right on the water front, not far from the ferry wharf, this is a hidden gem – turn right instead of left when you get off the ferry. The kitchen looks like nothing, but the food is excellent - lots of delicious seafood; while drinks are at reasonable prices, and the view across the harbour is priceless. Staff are relaxed, but attentive. The attached supermarket is amazing – the best fresh food we bought while in Lipari. Our favourite place on the island.

31/08/2023: Very poor service. Ordering takes forever even if you point by finger the dish in the menu. After doing that, the steak comes in first and the appetizers last. The food is average, prices rather expensive, the staff is welcoming and friendly but the actual delivery of food to the table is a task too difficult for the personnel. They also have a bar so at least you can have a drink in due time by picking it up yourself.

15/07/2023: Just had a wonderful lunch and felt compelled to write a review as this restaurants TA ranking does not reflect the high quality of the food that we just enjoyed. 
 We have been travelling for many weeks in Sicily and have been consistently disappointed with the standard of food. Most restaurants are offering predictable menus directed towards tourists. 
The chef at Hotel La Piazza Restaurant in Panarea deserves recognition for his skills and authenticity! Lunch on terrace overlooking the water: *linguine with prawns, lemon and ginger 
*spaghetti with vongole and zucchini
 *salad of fennel, orange, fried capers, olives and lightly pickled red onion 
*mulberry granita - packed full of deliciously ripe, summer mulberries

 The quality of the two pasta dishes was elevated by the intense seafood flavour. The sauce was mellowed by butter which clung beautifully to the perfectly cooked al dente pasta.
 Hotel La Piazza Restaurant appears to appeal more to discerning Italians on vacation and English isn’t necessarily the preferred language. However all staff were highly attentive and professional and there are a couple of younger English speaking staff to assist. We found that with a little bit of effort we could all easily communicate. 
This honest tasting food sets itself apart from the rest of the tourist driven offerings on Panarea. We enjoyed lunch so much that we returned for dinner and the food was again impressive. A very flavoursome cous cous cooked in a seafood, saffron and tomato broth. It was both light and rich. Roast pork and potatoes. Simply delicious. The pork was slow roasted with simple seasoning and fell off the bone. Simple unfussy food, generous portions with focus on flavour.

26/08/2023: Buona sera, domenica scorsa, prima di lasciare l’isola per rientrare dalle vacanze, mi sono recato in questo locale per “l’ultima cena”. Come in altre occasioni, l’ho scelto per degustare anche i piatti della tradizione, in un locale storico nel quale non manco di fermarmi quando mi reco a Vulcano. Io mia Moglie è due dei miei figli, abbiamo ordinato l’antipasto del piano, e fiori di zucca, riscontrando ottima materia prima e preparazione attenta anche nella frittura, risultata oltre che molto buona, tranquillamente digeribile. Come secondo abbiamo preso la tagliata di Alalunga, Ricciola in gazpacho e spaghetti alla Vulcanara, tutto eccellente, anche in questa occasione prodotto di qualità e trattato con rispetto nelle cotture oltre che nella presentazione nel piatto. Il servizio è stato puntuale e pronto a soddisfare le esigenze durante la cena. La location assolutamente piacevole, in questi anni i tentativi di migliorarlo sono riusciti e con modestia hanno aggiunto modernità, mantenendo fede comunque ai tratti somatici tradizionali della località il Piano, in cui si trova il ristorante. Non posso non aggiungere una ulteriore nota di merito, al figlio del titolare, che gestisce la sala e che dietro di noi, in un tavolo di una decina di cinquantenni con figli, ha saputo gestire con grande self control, l’ordine di un’orda di gente confusa, che ha cambiato idea nella comanda, innumerevoli volte. I dolci molto buoni, sempre il figlio del titolare sopra citato, si cimenta nella preparazione di piatti che fanno salire ulteriormente di livello il locale prospettando soluzioni oltre che molto piacevoli al palato anche molto moderne all’occhio.
