This is a very interesting property with a stunning view. The staff are nice. Unfortunately, the rooms are poorly designed. To increase floor space they have added a loft and put the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. This means that you have to climb up and down a neck breaking spiral staircase and as there is only 1 window in the room the air circulation is very poor, which means the loft gets muggy and hot. We were told that the air conditioning was turned off for the season, unfortunately it was unseasonably warm and we were boiling at night. On the second night we were provided with a very noisy fan. The main issue for us was the crappy shower with only lukewarm water and very low water pressure. We informed the staff about it, they said they would look into it, but on the second night there was no change.
On the first night of our stay there was a function at the restaurant, so we had to order room service. The food that we got was soggy and cold. My husband gave his burger to the cat which later attacked him.
On the second night however, we got to dine at the restaurant, which was very good. They were able to accommodate for dietary requirements for me, and my husband had the degustation which was excellent. The service at the restaurant was very good too.
Bottom line - The 1 star review is reflective of the accommodation and not the restaurant. I would definitely not stay there again, however if you want an enjoyable dining experience, try the restaurant, and then keep driving.
UPDATE following the response from the hotel - they did not check with us to see if the water pressure or the temperature were ok on the next day - which they were NOT - and after 2 days of cold showers we were thankfully checking out so this is why we did not raise the issue again.

20/09/2024: Very good pizza, worth a visit if you are in Niscemi. Might take you a bit to get there, but a nice, simple pizza will make you forget the long trip!

14/12/2024: I wanted to have a pleasant New Year's Eve dinner and instead it was an unpleasant experience.
New Year's Eve 2024 was the worst of my life because of the entertainment (if we can call it that).
The common opinion of all those present was that the "entertainment" of the single and improvised "DJ Pascal" was a moan without music or dance, but only a continuous and very annoying whining and persistent chatter for the entire New Year's Eve evening. It's a pity for the structure which however cannot abstain from the responsibility of choosing professionals and not improvised people. Never again.
14/08/2024: the staff was very kind. I can only say this positive thing about this property; very disappointed starting from the directions to get to the property given such as timing for the country during the booking they were found to be less than truthful we were on dirt and winding roads this was omitted during the chianate I was told very easy to reach in 7 minutes from the nearby town, rooms not very welcoming and cramped, not very clean, shaky bunk beds, safety equal to 0, paid according to regulations without having used them. it was midnight when we arrived in the room to sleep and we realized that the cell phones didn't have xampo phones to communicate with the reception non-existent at the reception not even the shadow of anyone we wanted to ask for a missing pillow and communicate that the beds were unusable, it is essential to have breakfast on the spot because taking that road to go for a breakfast outside is not possible, moreover the one included is practically a few biscuits and pastries packaged and placed on stands, a weekend to forget. I'm sorry to write all this but whoever pays must at least find the fuck nothing pretentious I hardly review but this was to be written we will remember 8 people only the kindness of franz

24/11/2024: Sono venuti a trovarmi degli amici di fuori, e ho pensato di portarli subito a cena dallo Zio Ciccio, abbiamo trascorso una piacevolissima serata all’insegna dell’amicizia e del buon cibo, una carne così non l’avevamo mai gustata. Ho fatto una bellissima figura con i miei ospiti super soddisfatti. Consiglio gli di pecora abruzzesi una chicca che non si trova da nessuna parte, trippa e lumache per chi fosse amante della nostra vecchia cucina locale.
Ma se volete finire la bistecca vi consiglio di non esagerare con gli antipasti. Rapporto Quantità / QUALITÀ / PREZZO veramente ottimo.
16/11/2024: Personale Top, prodotti di qualità. La tagliata irlandese si scioglieva in bocca.
Tutto sublime merita più di 5 stelle.

22/08/2024: Alla parola eccelso, non si può aggiungere altro. Se pensate di andare jn una trattoria di quart'ordine avete sbagliato posto. Cortesia, raffinatezza, cura dei particolari, cantina ricca e qualità sono il biglietto da visita per chi non deve guardare lo scontrino a fine cena.
Da tornarci presto!
19/07/2024: Da come mi era stato descritto è stata una vera delusione antipasto discreto mentre i primi non erano un gran che pasta troppo cotta salata non ben amalgamata la torta non er quella ordinata e non sono stato neanche interpellato se potevamo cambiarla trovandpne un altra decisa dal ristoratore mah!!!!!
