03/07/2024: Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the place and the food, but it is recommended.
Service: excellent, very friendly and nice waitresses.
Food: fresh food of the day, maximum 1 day, very good quality, also highly recommended for birthday parties or an outing.
Environment: outdoors, with lots of flowers and a small playground for children, with beautiful kittens... (it's the only photo I have 🙈)
I will definitely return.
25/06/2024: Since my previous review I have become vegan. When I booked they told me that I would find very few courses on the asparagus-based menu suitable for me, they didn't seem to be very available.
I wanted to confirm the booking for the company, it turned out to be a great surprise. The owner and the cooks have designed a menu suitable for me that is completely equivalent to the traditional one, demonstrating extremely high AVAILABILITY and COURTESY. They paid me a lot of attention.
I thank and recommend the place also for those who are VEGAN, taking care to point it out when booking.

05/12/2024: I ordered 4 flat pork fillets but none of them were the same. Service a little confusing. Pleasant environment.
26/11/2024: Sunday lunch. The right accurate and fast service. Excellent raw materials. It's just a shame that the pasta arrived lukewarm like the meat side dish (very soft fillet with artichokes). Scenic and very good desserts. Good wine list with even half bottles, perfect for those who only drink a good glass.

22/08/2024: Great place! Truly excellent food, I think that their ingredients are selected and researched because they are of a quality that is not always found, nice place, clean and well organised, attentive staff ready to explain any doubts, excellent value for money!!!
I recommend if you are in the area to absolutely try it.

17/08/2024: We booked by telephone, making arrangements for the reservation, and once we arrived the reservation was not available.
They made us wait for 20 minutes, giving us a table intended for crockery storage.
30 minute wait to order and more than 1 hour to receive the dishes.
Terrible evening, full of confusion in the room, rude and unorganized staff in receiving a substantial amount of people on a Saturday evening in August.
I didn't get up to leave because I was with a group of people otherwise they would have deserved to have the cover abandoned.

23/07/2024: Very well decorated restaurant, with atmosphere (music) between copious amounts of nothing, lots of choice (pizzas, meat, fish, pasta, etc.), the waiters and the service are super fast and smiling!!!
I recommend it ! I go there every summer!

21/05/2024: Delicious artisanal ice cream with a variety of flavors including vegan ones! It can be enjoyed while walking or sitting at tables outside available to customers.
25/03/2024: Santenese, for four years.. I must say that we have tried this ice cream shop, two/three times.. but now I can say that I have noticed.. also diversifying the tastes a lot.. from the creams to the Tiramisu to the black cherry, the taste does not vary .. that is, the flavor remains almost unchanged.. it could only be explained with an adjective, use of chemicals.. we were very disappointed.. I think we will never go back again..

Agriturismo Antico Pioppo

07/07/2024: Ed eccoci alla seconda visita all’Antico pioppo, da Carolina in quel di Santena, nei pressi di Torino, famosa per la produzione di asparagi e per il Palazzo e la tomba del conte Camillo Benso di Cavour.
Dopo avere rigorosamente prenotato, eccoci al pranzo che ha come protagonista il celebre piatto piemontese: il gran Fritto misto.
Sono 24 / 25 portate tra carne, verdura, frutta e dolci, rigorosamente impanati e fritti in olio rovente: ottimi per cottura, fragranza e croccantezza, non unte e eseguite in maniera perfetta.
Certo non è stata un pranzo dietetico anche perché le porzioni sono veramente abbondanti, ma da tutti apprezzato: una particolarità, che non avevo mai visto prima inserita nel Fritto Misto, sono state le cosciette di rana, di dimensioni generose e quindi ricche di carne da spolpare.
Un’ottimo pranzo anche se, per adesso, non voglio più sentire parlare di fritto misto per almeno sei mesi.
La prossima visita all’ Antico Pioppo sarà per il menù “tutto asparagi”, di cui Santena è uno dei maggiori produttori nazionali e dove , ogni anno, si tiene la Sagra dell’Asparago. (Quest’ anno ha avuto luogo dal Dal 17 al 26 maggio 2024
L'asparago di Santena presenta turioni con apice appuntito e di colore verde intenso, con sfumature violacee, ha una lunghezza media di 22 cm. e la parte colorata comprende circa il 65% della lunghezza totale.
Quindi…..arrivederci alla prossima….!!!!
01/06/2024: Non metto una sola stella solamente per gentilezza .. credo sia stata una delle peggiori cene dei miei ultimi 15 anni.. come qualità del cibo intendo. Prezzi normali.
