His passion for raw ingredients and local cuisine is clearly evident, yet reinterpreted with a personal and never boring touch.
The menu changes seasonally and offers dishes that showcase simple yet well-executed flavors. Some offerings stand out more than others, but overall the experience was positive, with carefully crafted and beautifully presented dishes. The wine selection is also good, in keeping with the restaurant's philosophy.
Attentive and courteous service, a welcoming atmosphere—perhaps a little intimate on busier evenings, but pleasant nonetheless.

The food is delicious and excellent value, but Locanda del Bruco stands out from all the others for the kindness and friendliness of the owner, whose qualities include attentiveness and the speed of a spinning top. The platter of fried gnocco is plentiful and top-quality, and the pizzas are also very good and offer a wide selection.
They also make first and second courses that are very appetizing, but I haven't tried them yet...I'll definitely be back!

12/10/2025: Sunday lunch for 10 people.
Very fast service and attentive, friendly staff.
Abundant and delicious dishes: fresh pasta (spaghetti alla chitarra with clams and zucchini and orecchiette with vegetables), mixed fried fish, grilled cuttlefish, and grilled swordfish.
The grilled vegetables were also very good.
The desserts were excellent (house-made tiramisu, as well as strawberry cheesecake and meringue with hot chocolate).
Prices were reasonable.

04/10/2025: The pizza is incredibly light and easy to digest. Excellent quality ingredients, from the dough to the toppings. The staff is professional and friendly. I'll definitely be back.
26/09/2025: We stumbled upon it almost by chance, not knowing the place, so we decided to pop in and order three pizzas to go. They were quick, friendly, and the pizzas were absolutely delicious. The baked potatoes on the pizza were truly spectacular.
It's a shame we don't come to the area often, otherwise we'd be back more often!

Telefonato alle 19.30 e cena alke 20 con ottimo risotto aspatagi e tartufo. Mio nipotino risotto giallo e ossobuco. X non parlare di ambiente cortesi ma soprattutto dei desserts.

L’ambiente è curato e accogliente, con un’atmosfera rilassata che ti fa sentire subito a tuo agio. Il personale è gentile, sorridente e attento, sempre pronto a dare un consiglio o una spiegazione sui piatti.
Il menù è vario e ben pensato, con piatti gustosi e preparati con ingredienti di qualità.
Buonissimo l’antipasto con cipolla, polipo alla Luciana.. Tutto quello che abbiamo ordinato era davvero buono e ben presentato, si vede che c’è attenzione nei dettagli e passione per la cucina.
Era da tanto tempo che non uscivo da un ristorante pienamente soddisfatta, sia per il cibo che per l’esperienza nel complesso. Complimenti davvero a tutto lo staff! Torneremo sicuramente.

26/03/2025: Un posto in cui sono stato diverse volte, da solo, nel mio trascorso varesino. Personale accogliente e gentilissimo, l'orecchia di elefante buonissima, con diverse opzioni di condimento. Vini ottimi. Soddisfatto consiglio e ci tornerei.
15/03/2025: Ho cenato qui, invitata da colleghi dopo un impegno di lavoro in trasferta (da Roma). A parte il servizio, ottimo - camerieri preparati e gentili, il responsabile di sala sa fornire le giuste indicazioni per scegliere la portata - non trovo altri particolari meriti a questo ristorante. Magari sbaglio io.... Lo sformato di melanzane in parmigiana viene salvato, in extremis, da qualche fettina di pomodoro che dà al piatto un tocco di freschezza. Ho ritenuto la cotoletta (orecchietta 250 gr oppure orecchia 500gr) eccessiva, anche nella versione "vezzeggiativa"; Parliamo pur sempre di carne impanata e fritta! Quindi, ho ordinato Tagliata di manzo, cottura al sangue. Sulla cottura, Vi lascio una foto per giudicare. Patate al forno, untuose e carbonizzate, hanno richiesto una selezione spietata. Sformatino di accompagnamento senza particolari pregi. Prezzi, elevatissimi rispetto alla qualità del cibo. Insomma, se cercate proprio la cotoletta, potrebbe essere il posto giusto; per il resto, ho detto! ..... In ogni caso, concedo sempre una seconda possibilità !
