26/05/2024: Probably one of the prettiest places in Oltrepo Pavese . Lovely outdoor area, perfectly manicured grass, great architecture… unfortunately we stopped in for a quick Sunday breakfast and honestly it’s better that you just drive on. We had checked in the day before that they do serve breakfast just in case because knowing the area it was entirely possible that a bar serving tourists would obviously be closed on a Sunday morning in late spring. They confirmed that breakfast is of course available… We asked for a couple of chocolate croissant and when they arrived they were tiny, obviously not fresh and had been heated them up in the oven to try and freshen them up a little which only ended up burning them. The options were only chocolate or apricot jam… not being picky but at 10 am on a Sunday you should have a few options available. We sent them back and to their credit they didn’t charge us for them. Coffee honestly wasn’t bad and they did have pre packed pancakes for my 6year old so she was happy, but we left hungry and annoyed so great start to the excursion … Such a beautiful place should be packed full of people but whenever I go passed it’s empty and now I know why. Rather avoid it for breakfast because they are definitely not morning people.

16/08/2024: In the desolate (though fortunately recovering) Salice, this historic bar keeps the name of the city high. The specialty is the sandwiches and I am not exaggerating in saying that they were the best I have eaten in recent years. The bread is very soft and cooked to perfection, the cured meats are of the highest quality and the sauces are all homemade. As I understand it, the symbolic sandwich is the one with coppa, caprice (goat's brie), rocket and truffle oil and I couldn't help but try it: every bite was an experience, incredible. The beers are also good, they are mostly commercial but you can find something special like the Augustiner which I hadn't found for a long time. I also really liked the absence of a list, apart from their flagships, the sandwiches vary based on the fresh ingredients of the day. I hope everyone will try their seafood carpaccio sandwich, a unique delicacy! The service was very kind, I have rarely found waiters so good at advising and making the customer smile. Very honest price, two sandwiches loaded with fillings, beer and water, 19 euros. I recommend going early, it's a very popular place and from after 8pm a large queue builds up at the doors of the place. Bottom line: fantastic experience, I highly recommend it.

13/08/2024: I believe that the owner needs to do a good conscience as well as learn education. I arrive with my dog ​​(adorable and small) in the outdoor area where there was a table for 9 people waiting for me. As soon as you see the dog” you look at the dog, don't! But hello too!” But do you think so?! Shameful that in 2024 where dogs enter EVERYWHERE there are still people like this. Result: a table of 9 people who would have been drinking and eating evaporated. I recommend everyone to do the same thing! So maybe we can learn a little civility! What do you think?!
