24/04/2026: We chose this restaurant based on its many great reviews, so maybe our expectations were just too high—but our experience didn’t quite match the hype. The welcome felt a bit off from the start. The staff came across as somewhat grumpy and not particularly attentive, which set the tone for the evening. There was also a small mix-up with the amount of wine we ordered, and the way it was handled—with some muttering from the waiter—felt unnecessarily awkward. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. The complimentary amuse-bouche was actually the highlight, and the sciatt was tasty as well. Unfortunately, the mains didn’t live up to that start. The lamb chops weren’t great cuts, with quite a bit of inedible meat, and the tagliatelle with ragù was overly greasy and not very appealing in presentation. When I asked if there were any spices available, the answer was limited to the basics (salt, pepper, oil, vinegar), which felt a bit restrictive. After that, I didn’t feel like asking for anything else. The interior has that “old local living room” charm some might enjoy, but to us it felt more tired than cozy. We do like the idea of a quaint, traditional spot—but this one missed the mark for us. That said, given the strong reviews, it’s possible we just caught them on an off day.
