14/12/2024: Friendly and helpful dining room staff. The cook comes by to say hello and ask if everything is okay.
09/12/2024: Excellent restaurant. We went for lunch on a weekday and took advantage of the fixed price menu of the day. Everything perfect, the place is not very modern but welcoming and cosy. At the table (large and well set) tablecloths and cutlery from a "serious" restaurant. Very kind and quick welcome and service.
Even though the menu was "work-related", a small appetizer was served which was not included but was included in the price (these are small things but they make the difference!). Excellently cooked and appropriately portioned food. Fish or meat but all of good quality, the desserts are also excellent (off the menu). Even our Venetian friends were very impressed! We will definitely be back. Advised !

21/06/2024: We are in Italy from Australia, and came across this great little cafe on our way to Varenna. Absolutely wonderful staff who were very tolerant of our lack of the Italian language. Great lasagne, too!
09/06/2024: Locale pulito e accogliente...Personale gentile,ottimi piatti,Consiglio i casoncelli e le tagliatelle al ragù senza trascurare i secondi.....se venite a Sotto il Monte e super consigliato.....

29/10/2024: A beautiful restaurant with a view of the plain and excellent Bergamo dishes. The boss and employees are also very kind. I have come for dinner a few times already and it is always a great pleasure to eat here.
23/10/2024: Wonderful place, but unfortunately something must have gone wrong during that shoot. Very long waiting times, casoncelli and inedible meat. Even though everything was left on our plates, no one asked how we had found it.

15/12/2024: Poco cibo vegetale. Lunga attesa la domenica a pranzo. Pare che volessero farci consumare a oltranza, insistendo su antipasto + primo + sorbetto + secondo + dolce + caffè. Troppo cibo!
28/10/2024: I have wanted to come to this restaurant for more than 20 years (when I lived in the area). And only open on Sunday for lunch. Finally managed to come with my family and friends for a great lunch at Renato's on a trip to Italy. Casoncelli and roast with polenta - typical Bergamo cuisine - everything was excellent.
