The day faded in Riomaggiore with a sunset that looked hand-painted, and the night found its perfect epilogue at Osteria La Torpedine. Tucked away in a charming alley discovered almost by chance, the osteria offers a relaxed yet deeply romantic atmosphere, the kind that invites you to linger without ever checking the time.
The service flows with ease and precision, but it is the kitchen that truly takes center stage. The trio of anchovies opens the experience with clean, intense, and remarkably fresh flavors, an honest expression of the sea that is rarely found. The main courses—a Trofie al Pesto and a Ravioli al Ragù—shine in their apparent simplicity: unfussy dishes executed with a quiet elegance that speaks of tradition, craftsmanship, and deep respect for local ingredients.
A bottle of local white wine, simple and delicious, ties each moment together with effortless harmony. The finale is unforgettable: an ethereal tiramisu, almost unreal, melting like a cloud on the palate, followed by a chocolate lava cake that provides the perfect counterpoint.
The exquisite food, outstanding service, and warm, welcoming atmosphere easily made this one of the best dinners I’ve had in my life. Pure perfection.

16/11/2025: Fuori Rotta ended up being one of our favorite meals in Cinque Terre. The food is thoughtful, refined, and clearly made for diners who appreciate real craft—not just tourists passing through.
The onion appetizer was the standout dish of the night: surprising, complex, and incredibly well executed. The venison ravioli was rich and beautifully balanced, and both mains—the fish and the chicken—were cooked perfectly with clean, focused flavors.
Service was warm, the setting relaxed but elevated, and the whole experience felt genuinely memorable. Highly recommend.

29/10/2025: we absolutely loved this meal!!! learn some basic italian to order your food and enjoy the freshest pasta + sauce combo of your choice. the woman working in the restaurant was kind and warm to us, and watching her prepare our food was super cool. the pasta was the best we had in CT - you don’t need to sit down at a fancy place to enjoy bomb pasta and incredible pesto!! the serving sizes were generous and i loved that you could customize your combo. give them a try, you won’t be disappointed 😊

Cleanliness and order are lacking. I only had a coffee, and it wasn't good at all. Prices are quite high, but that's normal for this location. I won't be returning.
11/11/2025: Welcome to Liguria....Spritz with straws cut in half, which don't even reach the bottom of the glass... crazy.

18/11/2025: we went out late on a tuesday night in november and nothing was open anymore, we came by this restaurant and despite the fact that they were about to close the restaurant for the night, the invited us in and we had a lovely time. The staff was very friendly, the pizzas were good, the wine also and in the end the owner gifted me a tiramisu to take home - so we really appreciate the guys there saving our tuesday evening!😋

12/09/2025: When I ask if the shrimp are with their shell the waitress tell me 2 times “no shell no shell” , finally 3 fried shrimp with their shell …. Very disappointed. for 10euro that was a mixt with squid and octopus which were ok.
I should have pick the store just next to it, 1 more euro but the shrimp were without theirs shell
What is even the point of fried shrimp with theirs shell beside needing a hand wash and eating a cooked shrimp with no fried dough on it …
At least the squid/octopus get some fried dough on it …

23/06/2025: Non voglio fare una recensione suggestiva ma onesta per cui, a chi legge, vorrei chiedere: quanto pensi di dover pagare due piatti di trofie col pesto, una bottiglia d'acqua, due calici di vino locale e due caffè?
Datti una risposta e poi pensa che noi abbiamo pagato 60€.
Ora, archiviata la questione economica (che credo giustifichi ampiamente il titolo della recensione), passiamo a quella gastronomica.
La pasta era buona. Per essere precisa, come quella che farei a casa ma mettendoci la metà del pesto.
Con la sincerità che ha contraddistinto sinora questo feedback, va detto che il servizio è stato celere e cortese. La cameriera (che non so se sia anche la proprietaria) è stata gentilissima, non invadente, ci ha consigliato il vino in modo simpatico e cordiale. Le consiglio di fare un'esame di coscienza e rivedere i prezzi (nel caso in cui fosse la titolare) oppure di aprire un locale suo (nel caso in cui fosse una dipendente) perché ci sa fare!
Nonostante ciò, il verdetto è chiaro: locale assolutamente sconsigliato.

They refused to give receipt when asked. Only the ATM, no breakdown
Ordered a coffee americano, toastie and a Panini, the prices should be 3, 6, and 8 (mind you, is already more expensive than most other places)
They charged 19 in total. So combined with the refusal to give breakdown receipt screams scam.
Panini was rather stale and very hard, I'm glad I have decent teeth to fight it. And in case of robbery it could act as an weapon, I can see it cracking some skulls.
Coffee was meh. It's drinkable.
Unfortunately it's the only place nearby open early in the morning but you'll be better off training to another town and actually get something decent without being charged tourist tax.

We had a wonderful family time for our son's birthday.
We came for coffee and some cakes at teatime, and everything was delicious.
Marcello, the server, was very friendly, attentive, and kind, which made the moment even more enjoyable.
A beautiful, simple and joyful interlude, in a welcoming atmosphere.
Thank you again for this wonderful time!
