30/01/2026: Pizzeria Lo Scoiattolo has become an almost obligatory stop for those traveling to Rivisondoli, Roccaraso, or Pescocostanzo on the weekend. Many leave in the late afternoon, endure the 40–45 minutes of evening traffic typical of the area... and then stop here for dinner. And rightly so. It's a place that's been around for many years and has evolved over time: today it's more modern, more organized, and more efficient. Things have changed, sure, but the quality of the food has remained authentic and consistent with its history. The pizzas are good, always reliable. But the real reason I keep coming back are the sandwiches: especially the sausage, provola, and porcini mushroom one, my favorite (and my son's too). A mountain classic, done right. The strong point, besides the food, is the courtesy of the staff and the organization. Even at peak times, the place remains clean, tidy, and well-managed, which is far from a given. The products are good quality, the prices are fair, and there's ample parking outside—another great advantage. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or just passing through. It's a surefire hit, especially on weekends.
