Essence Restaurant, under the guidance of chef Enza Crucinio, is an experience that goes beyond simple cuisine: it is a meeting of elegance, authenticity, and passion.
The menu fully reflects the restaurant's name: each dish is designed to enhance the essence of the ingredients, with technique and great sensitivity.
Among the dishes we sampled, the "Uovo in giallo" (Yellow Egg) was memorable: creamy pumpkin soup, gorgonzola, crispy bread, hazelnuts, and a soft-centered egg that created an intense and enveloping harmony of flavors.
We also had the opportunity to savor several first courses, each with its own distinct character, prepared with care and respect for tradition, but always with a personal touch: flavorful dishes that excite without artifice.
To conclude the experience, the "Occhio del Drago" (Dragon's Eye) dessert: a perfect combination of the rusticity of Matera bread, the delicacy of sweet ricotta, and the richness of chocolate. A finale that leaves a lasting impression, like the entire meal.
The service is highly professional and attentive, the wine list is well-curated, and the atmosphere is welcoming and refined.
Here, every dish has a soul, and every bite tells a story. To be experienced, and relived again.

24/08/2025: Today we finally ate in this place, it is very difficult to find a seat because it is always full. Nice location near the sea. The staff is very kind. Good quality and well prepared food. Lunch was based on fish. I particularly recommend the seafood paccheri. We ate a series of starters and two types of first courses. The portions were so generous that we couldn't eat the second course. I recommend you try this restaurant. Book at least two weeks before the requested day to avoid disappointment.

Courtesy and professionalism are always the hallmarks of everyone who works at Invidia Pizzeria.
The atmosphere is spacious and welcoming.
The takeout service is very prompt.
Highly recommended.
24/09/2025: When we came we weren't expecting anything special but it was amazing! We asked for a salad to be made for us, even though it wasn't on the menu, and it was really good! The pizzas were amazing and the gluten-free dough was amazing!

21/09/2025: A lovely restaurant right on the Roseto Capo Spulico seafront. The seafood is exquisite, both the first and second courses. The fried seafood and grilled octopus on a bed of potatoes are especially noteworthy. We'll be back, as we love the Ionian coast of Calabria.

22/08/2025: I was impressed by the quality of the dishes, both in terms of presentation and ingredients, and of course by the flavor. I was also very impressed by the professional and elegant service, and by the wine. Being a wine bar, there's a wide selection of excellent wines. And for those who like it, they can even saber!
In conclusion, it's a restaurant worth trying, even if it means traveling two hours!
Exceptional!
10/08/2025: Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it and I won't be returning!!! The bill was incredibly high compared to the quality and quantity of food consumed.

25/08/2025: I booked without knowing it was inside the campsite. A pleasant surprise, the campsite is very well-maintained. When I entered the restaurant, I saw the self-service area and was concerned. Instead, they seated us in an adjacent room for the à la carte menu.
The menu had a lot of choice and very affordable prices, so we ordered two appetizers, two first courses, and a grilled fish dish, along with house wine.
Everything was perfect in terms of quality, quantity, service, and the owner's kindness. I would go back with my eyes closed.

Unfortunately, the food was terrible: pre-made dishes, poorly cooked, some undercooked, others dry and flavorless. The quality was truly poor and prevented us from enjoying the meal.
The only positive point: the waitress was very kind and understanding, understanding our discomfort and acting professionally.
It's a shame; the service deserves a better atmosphere.
Highly not recommended.

14/08/2025: We stumbled upon this pub by chance on our way back from a vacation in Maratea. The place seemed very welcoming, with a large outdoor area and well-spaced tables. Excellent food and a very good selection of beers. The Angus burger, pictured below, is high-quality. Fair prices, highly recommended.

16/09/2025: Terrible experience. It felt like a coffee and beer bar that turned into a restaurant.
Perhaps the worst place I've ever eaten.
All the fish was definitely frozen and badly cooked. The service needs to be reconsidered, the wait staff definitely not up to the job they're supposed to do. The lobster packets should be renamed "some pacchero al pomodoro," the octopus tasted like chewing gum, the wine was even warm, the fried fish tasted like cardboard. We're talking about "nightmare kitchens."
It's only worth a visit because it was the only restaurant open in town.
14/09/2025: The food? Who saw it?! The service? Terrible! The atmosphere? Screaming in the kitchen and bathroom, only for men and women, dirty! A terrible experience.

25/07/2025: Ottimo il cibo tutto di qualità, la presentazione delle pietanze e curata con gusto e con grande professionalità.
Il locale pur se piccolo ma molto elegante posto sul lungomare, è il luogo ideale per trascorrere una serata in coppia o con amici.
Purtroppo unica pecca, nonostante il servizio eccellente è la tanto attesa sia per le prenotazioni delle comande che per l'intero servizio di tutta la cena, forse risolvibile con l'aumento di qualche altro collaboratore.
Abbiamo atteso tanto ma tutto il resto ottimo!
Rapporto qualità prezzo equo ma non competitivo, con altri locali.
Certamente da consigliare!

Esperienza eccellente!
Siamo stati accolti con grande cortesia in un ambiente rilassato, curato nei dettagli e con vista mare mozzafiato. Il pesce freschissimo, cucinato con semplicità e maestria, ha reso la cena un vero piacere per il palato.
Servizio puntuale, discreto e sempre sorridente. Porzioni generose, ben presentate.
Consigliatissimo a chi cerca qualità, atmosfera e genuinità sul lungomare di Policoro.
Torneremo sicuramente!

18/06/2025: Abbiamo festeggiato la prima comunione, personale cortese e attento, piatti ottimi. Grande Pino, disponibile ad accontentare sempre il cliente!!
01/06/2025: Pranzo da dimenticare.. 01.06. Il cameriere ha annotato la nostra comanda alle 14.. Ma aihme abbiamo dovuto attendere 2 ore per gustare un immangiabile raviolo cacio e pepe e uno spaghetto alle vongole( questo dal sapore buono). A una delle bambine (tra l'altro celiaca) è toccata una sorte peggiore.. Una pennetta al sugo completamente cruda(la cucina per azzittire le nostre bocche ha pensato di far uscire comunque la pasta dopo tutta quella attesa) . I camerieri non hanno avuto nemmeno la bontà di intrattenerci con acqua e pane.. La mia bimba per la fame ha mangiato tutto il pane gluten free della cuginetta. Ci siamo alzati affamati e pagando una cifra spropositata...ah dimenticavo.. Il ristorante cucina senza glutine ma bisogna aspettare che finisca di cucinare per tutti.. E dimenticatevi la cotoletta che è un must nel menù dei bambini se ci andate con un bimbo celiaco!

22/07/2023: Sono stata in questo posto una sera con mio marito. Non c'era quasi nessuno, noi ed un altro tavolo.
Tempi di attesa lunghi.
Assenza di menù.
Prezzo salato.
Siamo rimasti solo perché alcune cose erano buone, anche se costose; e per la gentilezza del cameriere che più e più volte era in imbarazzo di fronte alle nostre richieste.
