22/08/2024: Everything of an exceptional standard. 3 times in 3 years. I hope to return. Quality raw materials, imperial raw materials with excellent seafood experience. Sommelier, attentive, friendly and prepared. His colleague is a little less so.
21/08/2024: Excellent restaurant that courageously emerges from a chorus that always and only navigates between tradition (little) and tourism, without thinking too much about the quality of the dish and offering something new, different. A beautiful experience, a restaurant with attention to detail and the possibility of drinking excellent drinks as well as wines. There are small details that can be improved to adjust the aim a little but in the end they are of little importance and are not strictly necessary. All at one. acceptable price for the quality of both food and drink. Essenza is a virtuous initiative, with the right courage, to which I wish luck in the years to come. We will be back.

11/08/2024: Ordered takeaway. They sent our pizzas by courier and made them again (but made us wait). They got one pizza out of 3 wrong, but we overcame it. Costs slightly higher than the standards of the place, but all in all recommended.

01/08/2024: Roseto Capo Spulico is a beautiful town on the border between Calabria and Basilicata, overlooking a splendid 2024 Blue Flag sea and dominated by the famous and once important castle, through which the Holy Grail apparently even passed. On the beautiful seafront there is the La Stiva restaurant, a nice surprise for fish lovers. The staff, kind and attentive, offered us for dinner an unmissable and rich seafood appetizer, an amazing tuna calamarata and delicious linguine with cuttlefish ink and prawns. For the second course, excellent cod on a bed of courgette and mint pesto. Balanced account. To repeat.
28/07/2024: The cuttlefish ink tagliolini with stracciatella and raw prawns were excellent... the tuna & green apple tartare were delicious!
Owner always present and attentive in service. Great selection of wines!

Claustrophobic environment
Taken for 4 people, appetizers: seasoned mussels, 12 pieces
4 baked prawns
6 boiled prawns or something like that,
Seasoned anchovies always around 12 pieces
A plate of boiled octopus
First course X2: spaghetti with mussels (there must have been 100g in total)
Second courses x 4 mixed fried fish (the fish were too large to fry and the calamari were dry)
A bottle of Aglianico wine
Total €230
These no longer fit in our heads

25/08/2024: Very pleasant evening, in a suggestive location, the fish menu is of great quality. The service is kind and attentive, and Alessio was a great advisor. I highly recommend it
24/08/2024: The food lived up to expectations. The menu consists of a few dishes and is on a laminated sheet (I would at least improve this aspect). The location is very suggestive but sad to see how a historical heritage has been cannibalized by numerous commercial activities.

25/08/2024: There were 2 of us and we arrived at 10pm.
The waiters immediately welcomed us and shortly after took the order.
In the meantime, 3 other tables arrived (AFTER US) who, however, ate BEFORE us, finished and even left.
Meanwhile, we were still waiting for the pizzas.
They arrived after an hour and three quarters, but first, obviously, we pointed it out to the waitress.
I also work in this profession and I feel the pressure on Saturday evenings, even just as a simple customer.
My advice is to improve the organization because you notice when commitment is lacking.

20/08/2024: Tristezza per favore vai via...cantava Ornella Vanoni, e questo ristorante mi ha trasmesso proprio questo stato d'animo.
Il personale vestito a piacere (ragazze a parte), con il proprietario che indossa una maglia nera chiazzata...in linea con il locale.
Un coperto fatto di tovaglia americana e tovagliolo in carta con pane servito in sacchetti umidi e già utilizzati.
Un bicchiere da vino opaco fatto cambiare.
Le cozze gratinate più tristi del locale medesimo.
4 gamberoni gratinati buoni ed uno meno fresco cmq consumabile.
Frittura di scarsa porzione ma nella media.
Ma anche no, grazie.
13/08/2024: Ieri sono stato a cena da Pippo con la famiglia abbiamo mangiato letteralmente sulla spiaggia location bella abbiamo prenotato piatti particolari paccheri all’astice buonissimi filetti di Spugola con patate e pomodorini eccezionali
Devo dire di avere speso bene i miei soldi

22/07/2023: Sono stata in questo posto una sera con mio marito. Non c'era quasi nessuno, noi ed un altro tavolo.
Tempi di attesa lunghi.
Assenza di menù.
Prezzo salato.
Siamo rimasti solo perché alcune cose erano buone, anche se costose; e per la gentilezza del cameriere che più e più volte era in imbarazzo di fronte alle nostre richieste.
