06/06/2025: The fried chicken was good, the pork dumplings were tasty too. But this was Chinese ramen and tasted weird. The boss's youngest son was walking around and yelling from time to time, which was annoying! Finally, the child threw an empty biscuit plastic bag into my face.

25/05/2025: Small shop but stocked with Made in Japan products that are hard to find in a physical store in Rome. In addition to dry foods, they also have fresh and frozen ones. Excellent selection of utensils for preparation and table. Very welcoming and helpful staff. It was a pleasure to shop with you and chat about Japan. I recommend.

01/06/2025: A beautiful experience, we went with our Japanese teacher who introduced us to the Japanese owner, very kind and helpful. We took the fixed lunch menus, excellent quality and adequate quantity. Fast and accurate table service. Brilliant Kirin draft beer in the thermal mug, frozen from start to finish. High prices but it is not an all you can eat, it is Japanese cuisine + service. There is also the sushi area on the conveyor belt but we did not try it, having opted for a table.

22/05/2025: Excellent restaurant, very fresh fish and a wide variety on the belt. The prices are high because the quality is high, but despite this I found them a bit excessive.

01/06/2025: The 2025 Lonely Planet guide recommended this place. We stopped for a cocktail and also got the Pastrami, which is highly recommended. The place has good electronic music. I'm not giving it 5 stars because the cocktail portion was small.

28/05/2025: Small place located in Vomero but well-kept in a somewhat Hawaiian style. We were a small group of friends so we chose personalized bowls and some rolls for appetizers. We had never been to this place and I must say that we had a really good time. Very kind owner and well-prepared dishes, the flavors described could all be felt. Only advice: better to book in order to have the security of the place. It is worth the stop for a quick and tasty meal.

The environment would have been 4 stars, but the continuous Latin American music completely out of context in a Japanese restaurant forces only one star. I don't know if the manager is South American, but I advise him to put more background music from the great Japanese repertoire of Zen music.

29/05/2025: I went on a Sunday evening, it was quite quiet since there were very few people. Unfortunately I was not very satisfied with the food. Of what I had, I only liked the carpaccio and the nigiri, in addition to the fried rolls which were really good. The vegetable noodles were not freshly made but reheated - who knows how long ago - and they were also mixed with soy noodles, I was there all night and the next day with nausea, heartburn and burning in my stomach. The ravioli were also not fresh. Yet the à la carte menu, compared to the ayce, should include fresher foods... in short, a disappointment. I will not return.

02/06/2025: Provato oggi questo ristorante. Cameriere bravissime e buone preparazioni peccato la scortesia del proprietario. Mi sono lamenta perché il cane di un altro cliente ha fatto i suoi bisogni proprio vicino a me. Secondo lui non è un problema perché quel cliente viene tutti i giorni. Beh non amo mangiare con i bisogni dei cani vicino a me. Non credo sia igienico e non è ciò che voglio. La scortesia e la maleducazione regnano sovrane. Mortificata per la cameriera che ha dovuto pulire la maleducazione degli altri. Per quel che mi riguarda i cani dentro i ristoranti non li voglio!

21/05/2025: This is already the second time we have been to Hokusai and we both came away very satisfied. I will start by describing the atmosphere of the place: small but welcoming, with every detail carefully studied. Everything perfectly recalls the Japanese style: from the particular decorations to the nice choice of music, composed of more or less famous anime theme songs and other songs. In particular, the Japanese tables with dividers are beautiful, making the experience intimate and authentic. We have tasted several dishes, one better than the other, but a special note goes to their curry, in particular the katsu curry, the takoyaki and the jigoku ramen, a real explosion of flavors for the palate. The ingredients are clearly of the highest quality and the quality-price ratio is excellent. The service is professional, kind and not at all intrusive. Even though we have recently discovered this little Japanese pearl in the heart of Rome, for us it has already become a guarantee. We will definitely return several times.

07/05/2025: Ramen below average for my taste, seasoning lacking despite the addition of extra meat. The potato croquettes were literally inedible: they dripped frying oil onto the plate. It's a shame, because the place is nice and the staff are friendly.

18/04/2025: Now a point of reference. Family run, quality sushi whilst being ayce. Also recommended for the very quiet and simple environment.

01/04/2025: Super quiet place. The menu is varied and the food good. Sometimes you wait a bit between one dish and another but kindness and friendliness "shorten" these waits. Clean and comfortable room. Advised.
