07/03/2026: The Ponte Cestio is a beautiful historic bridge spanning the Tiber River, directly connecting the Trastevere district with Tiber Island. Walking along it offers stunning views of the river and both sides of the city. Especially in the evening, the atmosphere is truly magical when the surroundings are illuminated and many people are strolling along the bridge. While it may not be as well-known as some other bridges in Rome, this is precisely what makes it so pleasantly quiet and peaceful. Anyone walking through Trastevere or visiting Tiber Island will inevitably pass by it and should definitely take a moment to enjoy the view across the Tiber.

The Ponte Cestio is one of Rome's oldest bridges, peacefully connecting Tiber Island to the Trastevere district. Originally built in the 1st century BC, this magnificent Roman feat of engineering is still used today by locals and visitors alike to cross the Tiber River.
It's more than just a bridge; it's a passage between two worlds: the serene and historic charm of Tiber Island and the vibrant streets of Trastevere, filled with cafes, restaurants, and street musicians. Walking across it, especially at sunset, offers one of the most beautiful and tranquil views in Rome, as the golden light reflects off the river and the ancient stones.
Entry is free, and the bridge is open 24/7. You can easily reach it on foot from Campo de' Fiori or Piazza Venezia (about a 10-15 minute walk), or by bus along Via Longoteveri.

We were warmly welcomed into a lovely, spacious, and musical dining room.
The table setting was meticulous, and the service was delightful.
The food was excellent (and not just because it's French), and I personally recommend the spaghetti with shrimp or the duck.

16/12/2025: If you want to avoid tourist traps, dare to step inside L'Eau Vive. A surprising place, truly surprising!
But the duck breast will leave you speechless, and the dauphine potatoes... well, let's not even go there. You'll need to find your voice again when it's time to sing!

29/11/2025: The service and location were delightful. We tried the onion soup, which was very good but too cheesy. The fondue bouguignonne was delicious and of high quality. The torte tatin, unfortunately, was cold and not renverse. We'll be back! MERCI

Excellent food and incredibly kind and friendly staff. Dishes are prepared in front of the customer, like the tartare or the crêpes, which are delicious just watching them being made. It's always a pleasure to visit you. See you next time!

20/06/2025: Il cibo è ottimo, il locale, piacevole e sempre ordinato è un po' piccolino e quindi sempre un po' affollato. I commessi sono per lo più cortesi, ma un paio molto scortesi per cui se ti capita il giorno no oltre alla lunga fila (giustificata vista la qualità) ti tocca una fila aggiuntiva dovuta alla scortesia e alla totale mancanza di simpatia per la clientela locale, il turista viene sempre prima

13/04/2025: Ristorante di cucina tipica francese di varie zone della Francia, personale sempre cortese e attento al cliente, cibo di qualità con proposte "tradizionali" di piatti conosciuti (crêpes, omelette, zuppa di cipolle etc...) e di altri piatti di cucina francese forse meno conosciuti ma ugualmente raffinati e apprezzabili.
Vasta scelta anche di dolci, sempre raffinati e di ottima fattura, oggi ce n'era uno molto bello, di cui allego la foto.
Possibilità non solo di pranzare/cenare ma anche di fare colazione/brunch e di acquistare pane e altri prodotti dalla boulangerie, così come formaggi freschi e conserve varie.
Consigliatissimo per un'esperienza diversa e se siete stati in Francia e apprezzate la cucina Francese e volete ritrovarvi i sapori autentici.
Il conto è proporzionato alla proposta.
Nota dolente il parcheggio, probabilmente la cosa migliore.è mettere l'auto al parcheggio interrato di Piazza Cavour.

01/03/2026: I give a star to everything, but I wouldn't even give that because the place doesn't qualify in my opinion. Terrible experience. Ignorant waiters, saying the food was awful is a compliment. Full of people, an absurd overcrowding of people, absolutely unthinkable. Never again!

16/07/2025: Siamo stati appositamente da Grue ieri mattina x poter fare una buona colazione. Abbiamo scelto fra le tante varietà due cornetti alla crema buonissimi che difficilmente si trovano e due caffè altrettanto buoni. Ci andiamo molto spesso non solo x la colazione ma anche a pranzo, sempre tutto soddisfacente per non parlare poi delle varietà dei mignon, delle torte e del buonissimo gelato artigianale. Rimaniamo sempre molto soddisfatti e sempre ben accolti dalla carinissima cassiera. I prezzi non sono assolutamente esosi considerando soprattutto la qualità dei prodotti
11/07/2025: Sono tornato dopo un po' di tempo,avevo voglia di una buona colazione...I prodotti di pasticceria sono sopra la media buoni ...il servizio abbastanza buono ...E la signora in cassa che rovina tutto ...non ti guarda neanche in viso,non fa un sorriso nemmeno sotto minaccia...pessima..

n. 4 filetti di sardine del Mar Cantabrico 1 a testa e 4 pezzettini di salmone affumicato!
2 bicchieri di vino bianco fumè della Loira!
Ovviamente non mi vedranno più
