18/03/2026: Excellent raw materials, and the quality was clearly evident. The cured meats were served on a plate and were generally good; the culatello, in particular, was truly excellent. The prosciutto crudo was high-quality, but a large portion of the slice was made up of fat: out of a width of about five fingers, three were practically nothing but fat, which made it a bit heavy after a while. The cheese selection was very good. I wasn't entirely convinced by the Russian salad, however: I expected a stronger flavor, while the sauce that held it all together was a bit overwhelming after a while. As for the tortelli piacentini, I expected a more intense flavor, despite the added cheese, and they were probably also slightly overcooked, as they tended to fall apart even when picked up with a fork. The desserts, on the other hand, were excellent: the zuppa inglese was very good, rich in Alchermes as per tradition. The sbrisolona was also good; the zabaglione wasn't entirely my cup of tea, but it was still enjoyable.

15/03/2026: I had dinner at this restaurant. I had high expectations. But unfortunately, it was disappointing. There were 4 of us, we ordered a shared appetizer, and basically a plate arrived with: 4 slices of coppa. 4 of salami. 4 of pancetta, it looked like plastic, a small bowl of giardiniera and Russian salad = €60. Two dishes with grilled venison that required a magnifying glass for €28 CAD. Good tagliatelle. And good fried brain. And finally, the dessert, "zuppa inglese", was sickening for my taste. In the end, you either drink normal coffee or don't drink it because decaffeinated coffee doesn't exist, nor barley or anything else. I'm sorry, but the quality/price ratio is just not there.

22/03/2026: I passed this osteria, which immediately attracted me, both because of its glass verandas and because there were a lot of cars in the parking lot despite it being in a small hamlet of Podenzano. We stopped shortly before dinner time to use the bathroom and have a drink before getting back on the road home. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the unique beauty of this place. It feels like a home, but also a bar and a trattoria. Welcoming and warm. We were greeted with great kindness and generous smiles. I asked if I could bring my dog ​​in, and everyone was immediately accommodating. Furthermore, in a moment of panic because I was afraid the dog (a puppy) would pee, the girl at the cash register reassured me, saying that if anything happened, she would clean it up, and that it was no problem. ...I stayed...I really like the Piacenza area because I still find so many people like this...friendly, cheerful, helpful. They immediately gave us a table for an aperitif, bringing us sandwiches, pizzas, and chips. Fair prices. I'm giving the food 4 stars on faith, but we'll have to dine again to confirm the quality. Looking at the menu, it's typical Piacenza fare with average prices. Thank you, and see you soon!

01/02/2026: We discovered Lo Scrajo almost by chance, planning a day trip to the Castello di Rivalta Trebbia area and craving seafood. We couldn't have been happier. We thoroughly enjoyed everything: from the kindness of Signora Imma and her staff, to the quality of the dishes, to the way they were served and the appropriate waiting time between courses. I can't comment on the wine this time, as I can't drink it these days, but the wine list, especially the sparkling ones, is extensive. The final bill, relatively high—perhaps unusual—is, in my opinion, justified by the quality and the setting. So, THANK YOU AGAIN, AND UNTIL NEXT TIME! At the very least, Lo Scrajo is the ideal place for important occasions, to make a good impression on friends or acquaintances. And let's not forget that, for those who want to enjoy typical local dishes, the area offers a wide selection of excellent trattorias and restaurants. Rivergaro, like all this vibrant hilly area not far from Piacenza, is worth a visit, not only for those simply seeking a day trip to explore castles and villages, but also for those who enjoy walking, cycling, golf, and horseback riding. And allow me to mention the Church of San Martino, within the walls of Rivalta Castle, for the beauty of this parish and, above all, of its community. I haven't attended such a beautiful Mass in a long time.

26/12/2025: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I went to Lo Scrajo for a business lunch with my boss and colleagues, and it was a truly positive experience. We were given a small room all to ourselves, with a large table, which was much appreciated for its quiet and privacy. The restaurant is beautiful and refined, definitely not for everyday dining: an ideal spot for important occasions or business lunches. We chose a fish-based menu, while a colleague who isn't particularly fond of fish opted for a meat menu. I can't tell you exactly what cut it was, but I saw a nice piece of meat arrive, looking very inviting. As for the fish, the quality was excellent: we shared a fish appetizer for three, with three starters, followed by a pasta dish with scampi and clams, and a fish-based main course (like sea bass) accompanied by vegetables and dessert. Everything was homemade, cooked to perfection, and with great attention to detail. The wine was excellent; I'm no expert, but I found it very good and paired well with the menu. Overall, the cuisine is high-quality, meticulously prepared, and well-executed. Special mention goes to the service, which was truly impeccable: the waiters were very polite, attentive, and professional. They served the women first, then the owners, and finally us, respecting every rule of good manners. I dropped a fork and they immediately stepped in to replace it; when I mentioned that I'd already picked up the second one, they were still very kind. Truly excellent service. The restaurant is located in the square in Rivergaro, a very beautiful location. I imagine they might also have outdoor seating in the summer (I'm not sure, but the space suggests it). In conclusion, a welcoming, elegant, and high-quality restaurant. I truly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it without hesitation for important lunches, special dinners, or business occasions.

15/12/2025: Given that we went on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, when there were a huge crowd from Grazzano Visconti, the workload was considerable, and some items must have run out, there's no excuse for the dishes not matching the description on the menu and the waitress's verbal remark when ordering: the meat was supposed to be baked, but it was stewed; the polenta was supposed to be served, but it was mashed potatoes; the tiramisu was supposed to be served, but it was a simple mascarpone cream. When paying, we mentioned all of this, but the owner didn't bat an eyelid. An apology would have been enough!

28/02/2026: Dinner with friends tonight at this place was a real discovery. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming, but the real plus is the staff: kind, warm, and ready to accommodate every request extremely quickly. ​Special thanks go to the waitress whose name begins with an F: she's incredibly friendly and has a magnetic smile that makes you feel right at home. ​Moving on to the food: as a Roman, I'm very picky about my Carbonara, but this was simply out of this world. Tasty, well-made, and truly on par with the best you'll find in the capital. The rest of the menu also offers several delicacies that will keep you coming back. ​If you're in Podenzano or the surrounding area, this is a highly recommended place... even just to experience F.'s infectious smile!
