21/07/2025: We went for lunch on Sunday. Nicola (an old friend) was always so kind and welcoming.
The appetizer, gnocco fritto with cured meats, was top notch! The trio of first courses, ravioli with venison ragu, pisarei, and malfatti with ricotta, butter, and sage, were all excellent, well-cooked, well-seasoned, and above all, top-quality. No main courses because they were so overdone! What can I say? It's worth trying, we'll be back....
To try the main courses and desserts...I forgot, the Gutturnio wine and the local Amaro are excellent!!!

A jewel of Piacenza cuisine!
We were thrilled with every aspect of this restaurant! The atmosphere is welcoming and meticulously cared for, with a warm and authentic feel that makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and always smiling: a true added value.
But the real star is the food: traditional Piacenza dishes executed impeccably. The tortelli with roe deer sauce were simply spectacular, with a thin pastry and a flavorful filling. The maltagliati, then, made us understand why Piacenza cuisine deserves a place of honor among the great Italian regional cuisines.
The meats were cooked to perfection; we ate the truly spectacular horse carpaccio with arugula and parmesan, along with top-quality local cured meats and a well-stocked wine list featuring excellent local labels. All at a price that's absolutely right for the quality offered.
Highly recommended for those seeking authenticity, flavor, and a memorable dining experience. We'll be back.

30/06/2025: Tonight we tried a non-typical dish "ravioli stuffed with sea bass with calamari and yellow tomatoes". Really tasty. Then, Chiara's tiramisu is a guarantee.
But more than anything else it is Chiara's ability to make you feel at home
27/06/2025: Dopo una splendida passeggiata al Giardino Alpino del Monte di Pietra Corva, ci siamo fermate a Il Molino per cena, accompagnate dai nostri cani. Prima di entrare abbiamo chiesto se fossero ammessi e ci è stato confermato di sì.
Fin qui tutto bene, finché, appena accompagnate al tavolo, senza neppure il tempo di sederci, abbiamo sentito il (presunto) proprietario pronunciare ad alta voce: “sti ca**o di cani di mer*a”. Siamo rimaste sinceramente perplesse, anche perché i nostri cani – di taglia medio-grande – sono rimasti sdraiati sotto il tavolo per tutta la durata della cena, senza abbaiare né arrecare alcun disturbo.
La cameriera, al contrario, è stata molto gentile ed educata. Abbiamo ordinato la pizza, che si è rivelata buona, con prezzi più bassi rispetto alla media della zona.
Purtroppo, durante tutta la cena, il (presunto) proprietario ha continuato a passare tra i tavoli borbottando, imprecando e bestemmiando. Non è stato chiaro se ce l’avesse ancora con la presenza dei cani o se fosse semplicemente il suo modo di fare, ma il risultato è stato un’atmosfera spiacevole e tesa.
Un vero peccato, perché la qualità del cibo e il servizio della cameriera meritavano una valutazione più alta. Ma l’accoglienza e il rispetto dei clienti (e dei loro animali, se accettati) fanno parte dell’esperienza complessiva.

17/07/2025: Unfortunately, I'm forced to revise the 5-star review I left a year ago.
We returned to Nuova Usta a few nights ago and asked if it was possible to dine outside. The two ladies inside quickly and rudely refused, without providing any valid explanation. This may have become a rule of thumb, but since we'd dined outside in the past, we expected at least a coherent explanation, given that all the outdoor tables were completely empty. We were offered a seat on the covered, air-conditioned veranda; being cooped up in this kind of environment is certainly not the reason customers drive 40 minutes to Pecorara.
If you're looking for a pleasant place to enjoy some fresh air during the summer, this is clearly no longer the place for you. The same goes for a respectful and friendly welcome.

A very pleasant place in the beautiful center of Pecorara. Parking is just a short walk away. Excellent service and very friendly staff. The outdoor tables are very pleasant with a beautiful view of the village and the hills.
This is our second time eating here and we really enjoyed it. The Batarö are truly delicious; you can taste and see the polenta in the dough. The best we've had so far.
They also offered us a special sandwich made with pizza dough, pulled pork, peppers, caramelized onions, and BBQ sauce.
Kudos to the guys, we'll definitely be back!
31/05/2025: We recently discovered this pizzeria, where you can still eat pizzas with proper toppings and pay the right price. They are digestible, delicious and from the veranda you can enjoy a wonderful view of the green valley covered with woods. Only 90 kilometers from Milan, it is perfect for a weekend immersed in nature and healthy eating! If you pass by these parts, Val Tidone and Pecorara, including the beautiful Monte Penice, stop by Nuova Usta!
