A must-visit when we're in Martina Franca. Highly recommended 🫶

17/11/2025: A very nice and quiet sushi place in the center of Taranto. Prices are typical for all-you-can-eat sushi. The tuna and salmon sashimi are particularly good compared to other places in the city. Overall, good, although the selection is limited. Recommended.

13/02/2026: A typical Chinese restaurant that also offers Japanese dishes, the location is warm and welcoming, albeit a bit vintage.
The staff is fast and professional, and the menu is rich in traditional products.
The quality/price ratio is definitely good.

01/10/2025: The waitress was extremely rude and unhelpful. If you asked her anything, she always had something to say. She refused to give a fortune cookie to a little girl. We then had to beg her for a cookie. The food was poor.

Ristorante Giapponese sushi niwa

01/02/2026: Sushi Niwa is cheap, yes. But eating there is a real challenge. Asking for water and sauces became an impossible task: four requests, three different people, and only on the fourth time—probably out of exhaustion—did something arrive at the table.
The service is incredibly slow, disorganized, with staff seemingly out of touch. Every request is forgotten, bounced, or ignored. You sit down to eat and end up waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more.
If the low price is enough to justify such terrible service, then no. Cheap on paper, but the real cost is wasted time and frayed nerves. There are restaurants where you go to eat sushi, and then there's Sushi Niwa, where you participate in an endurance test.
Never again.
23/01/2026: Unpretentious; you can't expect much sushi, the price is reasonable, and the fish offered is limited.

21/02/2026: A good Chinese-run, all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant.
The food is good, although there are restrictions on the number of servings on various dishes, the price is average.
The restaurant isn't very large, so reservations are recommended, although I've never found it overly crowded or excessively noisy.
It's a member of TheFork, so you can easily book independently, but usually, for some time now, without additional discounts.
The outdoor parking lot is large and roomy enough.
The staff is friendly and attentive to customer needs.
12/02/2026: Mediocre dinner.
The service was very, very poor.
Very slow, almost an hour's wait for the food.
I don't recommend it.

14/09/2024: Terribile esperienza. Io e la mia ragazza siamo andate oggi, 14 settembre alle 13. Attesa infinita, un’ora e mezza di attesa per ricevere solo due portate.Abbiamo notato anche che a tutti gli altri tavoli, arrivati anche dopo di noi, i piatti arrivavano molto velocemente.
In più abbiamo pagato anche i due piatti ognuno a prezzo pieno.
Non ci ritornerei.
