Amy Sushi Laveno

Laveno-mombello
16/03/2026: Everything was delicious, everything was tasty, and then the view, guys...🥰
11/03/2026: As a longtime Amy Sushi customer, I'm truly sorry to leave this review, but it's quite disappointing: we won't be back for a while. Tonight, we're having dinner for two: 2 waters, 2 coffees, 2 all-you-can-eat menus. Cost: €37 per person. Service: You order on a tablet (now a classic) and the service is very fast. What's wrong? Waiters come to your table with a "pissed off" and listless attitude. We're normally nice and polite, "hello," "thank you," and smiles, but they literally don't even glance at you, they don't smile, they "abandon" plates in a rush without saying a word, they don't tell you what they're serving you. And what if I can't eat spicy food? Can you help me for at least 2 seconds figure out which rolls (sometimes similar) have spicy ingredients? In short, they're not welcoming and don't appear motivated at all. Something a little serious, something my friends and I have experienced the last three times: unfortunately, while they're leaving plates, every now and then you can hear an armpit talking... and talking loudly. It makes you say, "Seriously?" We laughed about it at the time. It can happen. But this is the third night in a row, so it's the rule. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't exist, guys. It's called professionalism. And it's called "a minimum of love for your work." Just a minimum, get it to me. My soy bowl had a sticky stain on the bottom. Oh well, I didn't use it. After dinner, coffee was served with a sugar bowl... But no spoon 😅. I got up and went to get it. About the food: - Menu with ever-changing additions, hundreds of dishes, a mix of different cuisines, the feeling is "I don't understand anything anymore." Tacos, bruschetta, raw ham and buffalo mozzarella, etc... Are you sure it's needed? For us, quality beats quantity. But it's subjective. Sushi and sashimi It's fine, nothing special. The quality you'd expect from an all-you-can-eat restaurant is OK. In detail - Miso soup: so salty it's almost unpleasant, and also quite acidic (I drank it all, though; I NEVER waste food). But be careful. - Edamame ravioli: we tasted them out of curiosity... and they only tasted of TRUFFLE (oil). When we asked about them, we were told, "Maybe they've steamed them..." Nope! In fact, we were then told, "It could be, we don't make them..." Okay, I appreciate the honesty, but if you serve something, maybe taste it first, ask the supplier what's in it, and PUT IT ON THE MENU 😆. What if we were allergic to truffles? Are you kidding? This also applies to some sauces thrown randomly on other dishes, NOT listed on the menu. - Grilled salmon: a small slice of thin, overcooked, chewy, dry salmon. - Grilled pangasius: they literally served us two bites; it looked like a half-bitten piece, quite embarrassing. The flavor was also good... - Tuna tataki: submerged in some sort of pink sauce, the tuna waved "ciaociao" with its hand and walked away, who heard that? - Stir-fried pak choi nest: it's not a nest, but it doesn't matter. The dish description says "steamed." So are they steamed or sautéed? Well, aside from the little bit of water on the bottom, I have to say they were pleasant. In general, I recommend that if you put a picture of the dish on the menu, try to more or less stick to it. And/or the waiter glances at the order and announces the dishes as he leaves them on the table. At the cash register: the guy we meet is kind, welcoming, and smiling. Just as a waiter should be (at least, to a minimum). Well done. The space is quite spacious, well-kept, and to be expected. In short, what I found at Amy's was a bit neglected, a place that simply makes numbers, so it seems to not care about certain things, some of which, however, are important in my opinion. Next time, with a €40 expense in Laveno, I'll go somewhere else for a good plate of fresh fish with a decent bottle of wine. Or, with a €40 per person budget, I'll opt for a Japanese restaurant that's NOT an all-you-can-eat. I'm truly sorry, but I hope you can return to the level of care we found a few years ago.
