06/08/2026: I've been coming to Wasabis in Squillace Lido for a while now, and it never disappoints. From the food to the service, to the location... if I really had to find a flaw, it's that last time, since the place was quite crowded, the wait for the dishes (which aren't just those shown in the photos attached to the review) was quite long. But it wasn't terribly surprising considering how crowded it was at that time. Note: we got a 30% discount with our reservation through The Fork!
06/08/2026: 36 uramaki served on a long, scenic platter. Beautiful and delicious! My only concern: I ordered with The Fork, but they didn't tell me about the discount.

31/03/2026: We went for lunch a few days after reopening after the winter break. Only one other table in the dining room was occupied by a couple.
Punctual service, an updated wine list, quality ingredients (top-notch peppers and French fries), and sincere cuisine, not grandmother-style but country aunt-style, although the truly remarkable ingredients probably deserve more care and attention in their preparation.
In short, high expectations weren't fully met, but the rating was more than met.
A well-kept and very characteristic location.
The price was fair.
07/01/2026: Family-run trattoria. Everything was excellent. Even the rosé wine. The appetizers and first courses were excellent: trofie with chickpeas and fennel, frizzuli with chickpeas and sausage, and the second course was excellent.

08/08/2026: The owner's son, Francesco, welcomed us as if we were old family friends. He treated us so well that we felt at home. He suggested we try the variety of appetizers. Following his suggestion, we were shocked by the quantity and quality of them, incredible, never happened in our life. He even offered us a bottle of prosecco, a round of bitters, coffee and sorbet. But the best thing was the bill. After the quantity of appetizers, we added a mixed fried fish and a mixed roast fish. We paid very little, if we had done the shopping, they would have spent more.
04/08/2026: Everything is excellent, if you want to eat well-prepared fish, La Cena di Afrodite is the place you are looking for.

28/03/2026: For a quick breakfast if you're passing through on the SS106, it's located right on the roadside. Friendly staff, a well-maintained atmosphere, and a menu that's average for a classic "grab and go" bar, although there's plenty of seating.

The menu may be reduced due to the end of the season.
Fried food at the mixed rotisserie was nothing special, we expected better.
Fried food was also so-so.
Too bad they don't do pizza and focaccia for lunch!

15/02/2026: We went to this place tonight, and we had really high hopes based on their photos... but unfortunately, it wasn't to be... low-quality ingredients, an inedible burger, and days-old bread. The service was pleasant. I'm sorry I won't be able to return and share a good experience.

31/07/2026: Good experience with one negative note on the fried calamari and prawns: for €18 a portion (meager), you can't give me squid... at least I expect real squid.
23/07/2026: Tasty, classic pizza. Slightly white on the edges. Good flavor. Large, well-ventilated terrace overlooking the sea. The staff is courteous and polite. The wait isn't particularly long given the season and the crowds.

02/02/2025: Abbiamo scoperto il ristorante di Pino solo 2 anni fa anche se il suo è un locale storico.Da quel momento ogni volta che facciamo tappa in Calabria (1 volta al mese) non possiamo fare a meno di andare ad assaggiare le sue specialità. L'ambiente è accogliente e famigliare e che dire del cibo.....i sapori ti riportano al cibo autentico calabrese e alle tradizioni che purtroppo vanno via via perdendosi. Ottima anche la pizza.

25/02/2025: Ho prenotato in questo ristorante memore della vittoria nella trasmissione "4 ristoranti" di Borghese, ma le aspettative sono state decisamente deluse. Il proprietario, presente in sala, è stato accogliente e gentile così pure tutto il personale, ma le portate mi hanno delusa soprattutto nel gusto. Tutto il baccalà presentato sia nell' antipasto che nei primi e nei secondi piatti non spiccava né per gusto né per consistenza. Mi è sembrato di pessima qualità e non caratterizzato da un gusto acceso e intenso come è tipico di questo particolare genere di pesce. Non penso che con questo livello di offerta avrebbero potuto vincere nella trasmissione di Borghese.
14/09/2024: Cena super !!! Se amate il baccalà non potete perdervi l’occasione di cenare in questo ristorante… tutto perfetto gentilezza e cortesia altissima qualità , una esperienza del gusto davvero entusiasmante. Una eccellenza del nostro territorio
