When you arrive in this oasis of Peace, being welcomed with kindness and exquisite dishes, like those you find at the Lago Grande Restaurant, is truly an immersive pampering.
Traditional dishes made with care, high quality ingredients and love in the preparation make you really feel at home.
The meat is excellent, the homemade pasta, the typical appetizer and the desserts prepared by them are highly recommended.
At the end of the meal, try their digestive!
Last tip: have lunch outside, under the gazebo because the music of nature will cheer your soul.

Telephone reservation accepted.
Location easy to reach.
Furnished with many vintage objects that capture attention and reawaken our beautiful past made of simple things.
Kind and competent staff.
Clean premises, equally clean bathrooms.
Fixed menu.
The price paid is certainly not low but I can say that it is justified by the preparation, presentation and above all by the quality.
All the courses were excellent.
I recommend it to those who want to eat well and not the usual agritourism courses.
10/06/2025: I spent a couple of days between the Monticchio and San Fele Lakes, two naturalistic pearls of Basilicata, staying in this agritourism jewel managed by a young, friendly couple who welcomed us with kindness and great availability upon arrival. The structure is very quiet and relaxing, surrounded by the green mountains of Vulture that seem to embrace the visitor and offers a wide possibility of tasting self-produced delicacies.

02/05/2025: We had an amazing experience at this beautiful pub right next to Dobbiaco station. We ordered a delicious vegetarian sandwich and two beers (an HB and a fresh Weizen) — everything was excellent!
The beer selection is impressive, with plenty of choices to satisfy any taste. The interior of the pub is fantastic, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
It’s the perfect spot to start or end the Dobbiaco-Lienz bike ride, or simply to relax while waiting for a train.
A special mention goes to the owner, who was extremely kind and helpful — you really feel welcome here. Highly recommended!

10/05/2025: Excellent experience for Easter lunch. All very good, in particular the ravioli with cheese, ricotta and strips of meat. I recommend it if you find yourself in Rionero in Vulture! The owners are very kind and available to accommodate other requests. The only flaw, but I think it was the particularity of the party and the quantity of people present in the restaurant, the wait between one course and another.
06/05/2025: Sehr gute und ehrliche Küche aus typischen und lokalen Produkten.
Bodenständige Hausmannskost hervorragend zubereitet.
Sympathisches und zuvorkommendes Personal, allen voran mit einem absoluten Profi als Kellner, der immer Herr der Lage war,auch bei gut besuchtem Lokal.
Eine Speisekarte gibt es nicht, aber auf Wünsche wird eingegangen und man wird gut beraten.
Es kann auch sein, dass man zusätzlich vom Chef persönlich mit einer Kleinigkeit zum Probieren überrascht wird 🤤

02/05/2025: Small family-run village hotel; rooms with the minimum and essential but without a mini bar so not even a bottle of water upon arrival (around 11pm)... 80s style bathrooms with uncomfortable sanitary facilities, cramped shower and not particularly pleasant water supply.
17/04/2025: A period of work in Rionero and a hotel that welcomes you like a second home assuming you have a Chef at home..

24/06/2025: We often go back because the staff is really kind and their products are all excellent! I love the yogurts! For my personal taste it is the best among those I have tried. We also tried their ice creams and in particular the zuppa inglese is exquisite! It's been a long time since I tried such a good ice cream!

09/06/2025: September 11, 2001, also known as 9/11, is one of the most tragic dates in modern history, representing a massive terrorist attack on the United States.
What happened?
On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger planes:
1. Two planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.
The first tower (the North Tower) was hit at 8:46 a.m.
The second tower (the South Tower) was hit at 9:03 a.m.
Both towers had collapsed by 10:30 a.m.
2. A third plane, American Airlines Flight 77, crashed into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the Department of Defense, near Washington, D.C.
3. The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, did not reach its target (possibly the Capitol or the White House) thanks to the heroic actions of its passengers. It crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
Aftermath
Nearly 3,000 people died (2,977 victims plus 19 hijackers).
Tens of thousands were injured or indirectly affected by disaster-related illnesses (such as respiratory illnesses among rescue workers).
The United States responded with the so-called "War on Terror," which led to the invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001 and then to the Iraq War in 2003.
Global Impact
It was an event that changed international politics and security.

01/04/2025: Location bella con personale molto gentile e al cliente, abbiamo preso antipasti e pizze concluso con un bel dolce, tutto buono, posso dire che le pizze bianche rispetto a quelle rosse erano da cuocere un po' di più ma tutto sommato andava bene lo stesso, complimenti al titolare e il suo staff, lo consiglio vivamente!

09/03/2025: Bella giornata di sole , arriviamo alle 14:00 a Monticchio, molti dei principali ristorantini sono ancora chiusi, aperto solo il Mapalù risto pub, un gentiluomo che ci accoglie: “ aspettavamo solo voi!” Ci accomodiamo dentro, fa ancora un po’ freddino , ordiniamo un solo antipasto, un primo ed un secondo da dividere in coppia. La scelta delle portate è limitata ad un solo tipo di antipasto ed un solo primo, per i secondi 4 le scelte, di cui tre a base di maiale ed una di vitello. Dopo 50 minuti di logorante attesa finalmente arriva l’ antipasto con un adeguato quantitativo di salumi ma con due tristissime “ostie” di un non ben indentificato formaggio ed una sottilissima fettina di pecorino. Il gentiluomo commenta la velocità con cui abbiamo divorato l’antipasto… per la serie: “uhh so’ arrivati i polli di questa domenica, mo li sfotto un po’” (ho immaginato io ) . Dopo dieci minuti ci serve il primo ( orecchiette alla lucana per cui previsti funghi e salsiccia) che, manco fossimo da Cracco a Milano, il gentiluomo ci sporziona in due piattini da frutta ( 🫣) che dire .. orecchiette sfatte sciape, incollate e soprattutto fredde, senza funghi, senza salsiccia e con un colorito appena aranciato ( ma ci stava il pomodoro amò? Boh? ), infine una porzione di carne arrostita mista di maiale (ordinata per una persona) due fette .. ops scusate volevo dire due solette di capocollo più tre salsicce anch’esse durissime ( cotte chissà da quante ore prima ) con due spicchi di limone e dieci foglie di rucola scondita! alla fine la cosa più ironica … il conto : abbiamo pagato l’ antipasto per uno 16€, il primo 12€ ( corretto) il secondo ( anch’esso ordinato per una sola persona) 20€, il pane 3€ , un calice di vino a testa 4 €, il coperto 2€ a testa … 63 € in tutto. Esperienza da dimenticare, meno male siamo ancora innamorati! Grazie

16/05/2025: Abbiamo cenato in coppia in posizione prossima al nostro hotel, in una sala accogliente e con camerieri gentili e professionali. Siamo stati molto soddisfatti dei piatti caratteristici (in particolare il "trittico") cucinati in modo gustoso e innaffiati dal loro buon vino locale. Inoltre il rapporto qualità/prezzo è ottimo.
20/04/2025: Ottimo posto, cucina ottima e cordialità del personale.
Cucina locale, casereccia, locale intimo ed accogliente . Se passate per Rionero, non esitate e fermatevi. PS Il trittico lucano è da provare
