29/11/2025: Four of us went and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was well-kept and pleasant. The meat was good quality, well-cooked, and tasty. The quality/price ratio was satisfactory. Recommended!
23/11/2025: We ordered the rib-eye which was cooked to perfection, very flavourful and tender. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The meat was served with a side dish of your which was included in the price. The infused oil given with the meat was very flavourful. I highly recommend this place.

The spaghetti alla Norma is delicious.
The grilled meat is top-notch.
11/12/2025: I visited Trattoria Re Carlo V and, overall, the experience was very positive. The atmosphere is informal and typically Catanian, the staff is friendly, and the service is more than prompt.
The horse meat is undoubtedly the restaurant's highlight: tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, truly one of the best tastings you'll find in the city.
On a less positive note, however, was the involtino, which was unfortunately a bit undercooked inside. Nothing irreparable, but a little more attention to cooking would make it worthy of the rest of the menu.
Overall, a trattoria worth a visit, especially for horse meat lovers.

04/10/2025: Five stars aren't enough to describe all the amenities of the Roadhouse restaurant in the Catania Porte shopping center, but it would take a beautiful August evening on San Lorenzo to truly appreciate its splendid setting. The kitchen staff is superb, with excellent food choices, including the mixed grill, our favorite, worthy of a Champions League final. The dining room is well-organized, and most importantly, without long waits, headed by Dir Roberta, always ready and attentive to customer requests, supported by her two faithful assistants on duty, Luca and Gianluca—and no pun intended, they are actually two dynamic, attentive, friendly, and incredibly charming waiters. What can I say? Do you want to eat something that will leave a lasting impression and satisfy your taste buds? Do you prefer to experience the moment in a healthy and relaxing environment? Choose Roadhouse...for everything else...there's Mastercard 😉👍

03/12/2025: I admit I went in with low expectations: I'd heard about this place all my life, but I'd always been told the food wasn't great. Instead, I found quality cuisine, with a vast menu and generous portions.
The ambiance is definitely this place's strong point; everything is thoughtfully designed, and it's truly a pleasure to spend an evening there.
Average prices, very friendly staff.
The only drawback—predictable and justified by the location—is the difficulty in finding parking.
23/11/2025: The pizza here is inedible, disgusting. We were disappointed... €15 for a pizza, like a brick fried in oil.

11/11/2025: If you're in Catania, be sure to stop by this restaurant. The steaks (including the horse steaks) are simply exquisite, delicious, perfectly cooked, with fantastic toppings and delicious sauces. The pizza is also delicious. The prices are reasonable. The staff, although they don't speak much English (but then again, they're Italians, so they have a different approach than us 🤣), are very friendly. Because everything is made fresh, the wait is a bit long, but it's worth the wait. I highly recommend it.
04/11/2025: Recommended by friends, I tried this place for the first time on a Friday night and I must say it was a perfect evening, from the exceptional meat to the side dishes of fresh potatoes (not the usual frozen ones), finishing with excellent desserts. The bill was fair for 1.2kg of rubia gallega, plus side dishes, a burger as an appetizer, desserts, and drinks. It's a shame I'm in Messina, but I'll definitely be back. Recommended.

09/11/2025: Typical local food, truly excellent. The atmosphere is quaint, medieval, and the prices are more than fair. You can request to eat outside, overlooking Ursino Castle. Highly recommended.
06/11/2025: Great place, family atmosphere, amazing food, and I don't eat horse meat, so for me this was exceptional... also for the price... when I return to Catania I will gladly come back to eat here.

06/12/2025: I gave one star because I can't give zero. There were seven of us. I ordered a salad because I'm celiac, even though there were some gluten-free meat options. The service was terrible, as the meat ordered by the others arrived all at once, while I had to wait 30 minutes longer for my salad than the others. We're talking about a salad, and it's unacceptable to let that much time pass. The salads ordered by the others as a side dish arrived first, rather than mine, which was my main course. Not to mention the quantity of the salad, which I can only call paltry. They also ruined my friends' dinner because their dishes got cold while they tried to wait for me. Not to mention the final bill: we weren't expecting anything, but at least an apology would have been appreciated. Instead, to top it off, we were sarcastically asked if there were any problems.

Das Restaurant präsentiert sich als typisches Pseudo-Amerikanisches Lokal mit Western-Elementen. Die Einrichtung ist thematisch gestaltet und bietet besonders für Kinder einige spannende Details.

• Bedienung: Das Personal ist freundlich und arbeitet professionell.
• Tempo: Die Abläufe sind leider nicht besonders schnell – man sollte etwas Zeit mitbringen, da die Wartezeiten länger ausfallen können.
Speisekarte & Qualität
• Auswahl: Die Karte ist recht umfangreich und bietet viele verschiedene Gerichte, von Burgern über Steaks bis hin zu Tex-Mex-Klassikern.
• Essen: Geschmacklich ist das Essen in Ordnung, aber nichts Außergewöhnliches. Wer authentisch amerikanische Küche sucht, wird hier eher Standardgerichte finden.
Fazit für Familien
Für Familien mit Kind ist das Old Wild West eine solide Option, wenn man Wert auf eine große Auswahl und ein unterhaltsames Ambiente legt. Wer allerdings ein kulinarisches Highlight sucht oder wenig Zeit hat, sollte sich auf längere Wartezeiten und eher durchschnittliche Speisen einstellen.

07/09/2024: Leone è un vero numero 1 della carne di cavallo, si entra, si sceglie che parte mangiare dopodiché verrà grigliata immediatamente di fronte al locale. Locale spartano dove si viene per mangiare bene e basta. Consiglio la noce di cavallo e le polpette che sono pazzesche. Solo per numeri 1

05/09/2023: Posto caratteristico, rustico situato al porticciolo di ognina, completamente all'aperto, su strada, uno dei posti più conosciuto e frequentato di Catania dove poter gustare delle carne e del pesce fatto sul barbecue davanti ai clienti. Ho provato soltanto un panino con le polpette di cavallo e devo dire che erano davvero ottimi, cottura e qualità della carne e dei condimenti davvero perfetti. Nel weekend è un posto molto affollato, ma ci sono abbastanza tavoli all'aperto per ospitare tutti i clienti. Prezzi bassi.
Consigliato al 100%.
30/08/2023: Pesce fresco contesto nell'insieme non è male ma devo segnalare un piccolissimo dettaglio che probabilmente oggi non è più così .. nelle giornate piovose vista lirregolarita del terreno vi sono tantissimi pozzanghere fastidiose
